Simply put - the game cheats...
The longer explanation is that there are two kinds of ambush; positional and
targeted.
Positional: The mobs go to the spot you were at when they triggered. If you
move from there (or are hidden), they arrive and twiddle their thumbs unless
you attack... There are a number of these ambushes scattered throughout
(esp Arachnos missions).
Targeted: These guys (for whatever reason you want to imagine to justify it)
know exactly where you are, and they're out to bust a cap in your butt.
Mayhems, Bank Robberies, and various Story-Arc missions have these. You
simply have to deal with them...
My stalkers have caltrops, so my usual approach is to set myself up in a
target funnel or choke point, lay down the trops and chuckle in amusement
as they decide how they're going to get to me... While that is going on,
I usually tp-foe the nastiest one to me, kill him, and then deal with the
riff-raff after that...
As far as adjusting your hide (ie. with a stealth power or proc), it won't
matter for targeted ambushes. As for positional, it would only help if there
are mobs having perception better than simple hide, but less than capped
stealth. I can't recall if there are any such, but I'm sure someone will
chime in if there are. In PvE, hide by itself covers pretty much everyone
except snipers, drones, Rularuu Eyeballs, etc. All of those (I think) also
see through capped stealth, so it mostly won't change anything. Capped
stealth is really only vital for PvP.

NO.
They're too epic to remove -- request denied....
Besides. Ya got skillz...
Make moar billions to feed your altruistic need to shower the unschooled,
casual masses with undeserved (on their part) lucre...

...and, of course, go to the PvP forums and describe how much you
enjoy the PvP 2.0 changes...
Oh, and you might also want to actually enable reputation if you want to
see all the glowy red abuse you receive...

Thanks Mac,
I'll take a look at those in Mid's and see what I can come up with... Just wanted
to make sure I wasn't missing out on a new set that might work well...
@Not_Epsilon
I have some Sharkiness in the planned build for the NB/Nin guy, (though
I'm mildly curious about Dark instead - partly on the theory that they might
nerf the shark (and my Widow really liked Gloom), but he's only L40, and
even with those (down the road), they're not usable in SC at all.

Historically, my stalker of choice has been NB/Nin.
While I've always been quite pleased with the build's success (in both PvE
and PvP), the complete lack of ranged attacks (vet/temp notwithstanding)
is beginning to bug me a little when it comes to all the SS/SJ "Bunny-hopping,
mexican jumping bean" builds out there that definitely need killin...
So, time to consider something with range. Spines seems like the obvious
choice to me, but I've not kept up with the latest stalker sets, so I'd like
to hear your opinions on what other options might also be worth thinking
about.
It will definitely be used in PvP situations, so keep that in mind.
Thanks in Advance for your thoughts.

PS> Mid's builds aren't necessary to the discussion, although, I'd certainly
look at those too if you feel so-inclinced to post any. -
Gratz, and Well Done.

Gratz on the billion.
Alas, the pictorial evidence doesn't meet the creative excellence we expect
on these specific points:
A> No character shot
... A1: No monocle
... A2: No teabag
... A3: No finely tailored suit appropriate for this level of wealthy affluence
B> No creative location for said photo.
C> No otherwise witty or amusingly entertaining elements in the photo
These issues are seriously impacting approval and delivery of your Ebil Decoder
ring and appropriate restroom key.

Quote:Hmmm... I a bit confused on this...
Hello all, I am in need of some ebil help. I am trying to adapt to the
increasing recipe costs due to the drop rate plummeting but I have notice
that a lot of crafted enhancements are costing the same as uncrafted
recipes. I am wondering how have you adjusted your sales in order to
compensate for this lopsidedness...?
Sure, the devs have identified a bug they think is causing the drop rate
issues, but "plummeting" - nah, don't think so.
Further, the reduction in drops seems more than offset (so far, with the
stuff I dabble in) by increasing supply overall, resulting in a reduced
pricing trend.
Additionally, most salvage is pretty much back to the pre-merits, pre-AE days,
which again is a substantial decrease in costs.
So, to which "increasing recipe costs" are you referring to specifically?

PS> I have adjusted my crafters somewhat for lowered pricing, and even
added some common IO flipping as well, but again, that's opposite of what
you seem to be implying. -
Nice Pic - I like the background sign a bunch... Well Done.
-
Well, given the 11M listing fee you paid, and the fact that it is a PvP IO
(arguably the least affected IO group from I-16), I'd leave it up indefinitely
myself.
Unless you need that transaction slot and whatever transactions you
place there will recover your 11M, it's a losing proposition otherwise.
As you yourself mentioned, peak prices were only 200M, so you definitely
overlisted it...
Even so, I suspect it will sell eventually.

Like most things, opinions and mileage vary.
For instance, my L38 NB/Nin doesn't have Stamina at all, and doesn't plan
to get it.
95% of the time, it's a non-issue. Since your primary attribute is stealth,
you have full control over the timing of your attacks, and in general, I
find that you fight in time clumps or bursts rather than extended (and
END draining) battles.
That other 5% of the time, I run into a tough fight against a red-con boss,
or perhaps an EB, and END can start to be problematic. So far though,
it hasn't been anything a blue chiclet couldn't solve.
Finally, I have frankenslotted all of my attacks, so there's probably about
an SO's worth of END reduction in them, and that helps also.
From my perspective, Stamina in that toon would be a "nice-to-have" but
there are just too many other powers I'd rather have, and there are ways
to deal with any rare END issues I've encountered so far...

I love this post, TopDoc... I'm happy to have read it in its entirety...
I honestly hope it helps clarify things for the next #6 poster that comes along.
Sadly, I am unable to risk any venture capital on that wager, but I truly
hope it helps...
Well Said.
To add some supporting, anecdotal evidence, I have several billion inf (both
red/blue - pics elsewhere in this forum). I also have several L50 toons...
Do you know how many purple IO's I have????
Zero. Nada. Zilch. Bupkiss...
Don't get me wrong, I've bought and sold several of them, but I've slotted
NONE of them...
Why? See Second Most Important Point above... For me, purples are
wealth builders rather than needed (or even desired) shinies...
OP speaks truly ... believe it.

Gratz on making the "big bucks" and the screenshot.

After creating an "Official" Ebil Marketeer avatar the other day, it occurred
to me that I hadn't published the obligatory billionaire screenshots.
While I doubt my credibility is being questioned, protocol must nevertheless
be observed in these matters, so I post these for your enjoyment.
Each of these fine gentlemen also have an additional Billion in "Rainy Day"
bids on the market, so their current liquid assets are 2.5B each.
The hero got his billions quite some time ago, and the villain reached his
milestone during the past Double XP weekend.

Quote:There's definitely some sort of bug. Were you on the ground? Shivans can't be summoned while character is in the air.
Shivans cannot be cast at all in Bloody Bay... I have tried with a Blaster,
and two different Stalkers (on two different servers).
The animation occurs, the Shivan begins to appear, and then poof, fades
completely away before the animation finishes.
The Shivan cast is lost and wasted and it never appears...

Perhaps that is so, but it didn't do so in my recent experience.
The "says-it" site produces 115 x 115 as the smallest size and the
forum definitely would not load that...
It may have been in a grey area ... ie. bigger than 100 x 100, but
too small at 115 x 115 to "squash"... <shrug>
In any case, I did have to adjust size, at which point it displayed fine.
It looks like he got his working, so it's all to the good now...

A key point to mention again...
The pic has to be cropped to a maximum of 100 x 100 pixels.
Typically, a game screenshot will be much bigger than that, hence
Bill's point about taking it into paint or photoshop.
Having just made my first avatar a couple days ago, I can tell
you that the forum won't display it if it's bigger (my first crack
at it was 115 x 115 and it didn't work until I reduced it).
If you use photobucket, you can also resize photos there too.

exemplar when I do), so my experience is the "zone exemplar" from PvP
zones, and in those cases you always got XP as long as your normal level
was at or below the zone level, so the first part didn't seem especially
noteworthy to me.
The second part "level capped" was unclear, because at 10 levels over
the zone level, I'd have figured I was "level capped" for that zone. So,
do they basically mean L50 when they say "level capped"???
Anyway, thanks for the explanation - interesting. I'll have to poke around
in the options and see what's changed there...
