Quote:I think it's just for the sake of making the game more fun and removing the "grind" levels. So we get Stamina at lvl 2 or something? Doesn't that defeat the purpose of being a "low-bie"?
Having inherent Stamina is cool but can we have Swift/Hurdle open at 6, Health open at 14 and Stamina open at 20?
The game is already very easy as it is. I don't want having Stamina below lvl 15. I hope I am not the weird one.... -
Quote:In a thread about alternate animations, the shield being carried on the back or something when not in combat was brought up. I thought it was a good idea. You have your toggles running, and the shield is slug on your back until you attack or are attacked and then your toon can wear it on his or her arm.I don't know that I'd argue for minimal effects on elemental armors (though if they go that route could we please add shield defense to the top of the list, I'd love to play a /shield scrapper without having to carry around a dorky shield, and even more I'd like to be able to play shields with the sets it isn't currently allowed with), but I'd certainly like to see different elemental armors. I'd love to play a stoner without having random blobs of earth and lava and crystals stuck to my skin, and I'd love to be able to use granite armor without turning into an 8-foot tall rock beast. It would be awesome if the powers left your character model alone and simply turned your skin to stone. And could we maybe get a granite that actually looks like granite, rather than slate?
Ice armor would be great if it didn't make you look like a walking pile of ice cubes. And the idea for fire armor that was already given (the air warping effect with flares when something hits you) sounds awesome. -
On some of my older toons, I took the axe, but it stopped getting used once I gained more powers. On many of my 50s, Sands of Mu is still one of the primary attacks. I never take the axe anymore.

Quote:I really like this idea. Ice armor, for example, could be kind of an icy aura and the ice armor could appear when hit. Same with some of the others. A fiery aura and flames appearing to block the hits would be an interesting visual.
Now, toning them down a bit or making them "flare" only when in use, ie being attacked like the Praetorian PD "energy armor" seems to work, would not be a bad idea, unless the power has an additional effect(stealth, damage aura, etc) or specific description(Granite Armor, Power Surge). But non "inherent" armor types should have some visual effect fitting with the power concept. -
It does for stalkers while hidden. You can crit the whole mob, still be hidden sometimes, and then hit Thunderstrike, crit a bunch more, and then placate and AS a boss or something. Electric on stalkers is awesome.
I'm very impressed with my DPS when spanking my son with the wooden spoon. It also has a +Fear inherent for all attacks. -
Thanks Texas, but I've done that before. I'll try to verify the files again, but the same error happened again after doing it the last time.
-
I keep getting the following message, or similar ones, and my game has to close. How do I run the "patcher"? I've verified all the files. What should I do?
"./piggs/texWorldCZ.pigg: Corrupt pig file detected

Your data might be corrupt, please run the patcher and try again." -
Quote:I went with Willpower as the secondary on my KM stalker as well. I've been dissapointed with it being so squishy and not being able to kill much. I thought that the stalker setup looked better than the other AT's versions, but now I'm thinking I should have gone brute or scrapper.I'm diggin my Brute but I started with a stalker thinking it would suite it better like Soulwind says but thee whites in a mob and I'm almost done in when I had the KM/WP I'll find out if it is just my luck or the raised deff of Preatoria that made my stalker squishy. as I have a stalker set up I think its NS/regen.... not sure been a while... I've been palying my DP/EM blaster witch so far I'm having no issues with...
The shield combo on the scrapper sounded interesting. -
I made a fire/fire Preatorian due to the rumored changes to make it better. I'm planning on him going "Blue" as well.
So far I'm loving GR and i18 as well. Fun stuff taking my oldest toon, a lvl 50 Mastermind, and turning him into a Rogue and then a Hero, and now I'm working on him being a Vigilante. -
My stalker wears a black two-button blazer over the white shirt that comes with the blazer. When hidden, the white of the shirt shows through the blazer in the front and on the sleeves.

Quote:The movie Avengers seem to be based more on Millar's Ultimates than any Avengers lineup and Vision's not a member of The Ulitmates.Hawkeye? HAWKEYE! Oh Christ. Why couldn't they have gotten someone a little more interesting and powerful like the Vision or something. I mean no offense to the Hawkeye fans in the room but come on. I just never saw what was so special about him or for that matter Green Arrow. I mean if they were in 16th century England and fighting the French or something then hooray for them. Otherwise... a boxing glove arrow against Dr. Doom is about as laughable as I can get.

I'm making an elec/elec, Preatorian Dom right off the bat. I guess we'll see what he ends up as, but I'm aiming at a hero.

Quote:Don't get me wrong guys, I see the need for Tankers and I like teaming with them, I'm just not a fan of playing them (I just like killing stuff) and the ones I've played was just to play the "big man" hero side. With being able to take tons of damage and keep on going, Tanks are an important element of the game. Meat shields will always have a place in my heart!I think a lot of people will do the same.
the number of quests/tf/avs that actually NEED a tank to hold agro is pretty small.
hell, since i was on an all Troller MoSTF I'd say tankers are pretty much unneeded.
I'm really looking forward to playing my brutes on teams with tanks more often so I can just focus on killing stuff and have no obligation to "tank". -
Dual Pistols is the reason I pre-purchased Going Rogue. Very cool animations, even if they take forever to actually fire the shot off. I've gotten a blaster up to 40+ range with /electric as the secondary and I'm planning on a corruptor at some point. Very fun set to play.
-
I tried a TA/Archery Defender and couldn't stand it. I didn't feel like I was contributing to the team like I could with other Defender primaries, and I was constantly frustrated about my inability to kill things. That being said, it seems like Defenders have gotten a buff for damage, but I'm sure the same frustration rears it's head when on a team.
Now I have an Archery/TA corruptor that not only does all the debuffing, but helps dealing lot's of damage in a blaster sort of way. I say Corruptor, if for nothing else, to see all those "Scourge" signs pop up after you hit Aim+Rain of Arrows. -
I went with DP/Electric. He's almost all gun, except for Build Up and Power Sink. If I'd thought it out more, I'd probably have gone with Mental Manipulation instead for reasons listed in this thread.
-
With all of the costume choices, I've been, surprisingly, very limited with what I can do with my characters' appearances. Plus, we don't have access to one of the staples of comic books, gorillas. I have found the costume/character creator to be very limiting and hope that they expand it soon......as well as a few more mission maps. Geez, how many times can I fight in the same warehouse, sewer, tunnel, longbow base, or arachnos base?

I am currently enjoying many critical kills with my elec/elec stalker. I say at least give it a try.
-
I'm currently having a blast playing with my elec/elec stalker, Johnny Shocker. Hitting lightning rod while hidden and seeing all those "Critical" signs is awesome, but when my toon is still hidden, I then hit thunderstrike and see many more "Critical" signs. After that, I usually hit Placiate on a boss and then Assassin' Strike, and see that above them. Electric Stalkers; fun to play and they make reading fun.
-
I just got an elec/elec stalker to lvl 32 and am loving the AoE damage from Lightning Rod and Thunderstrike. I feel like I'm really dealing a lot of damage and contributing to the team, a feeling that I didnt' get with my other attempts at stalkers. It's fun!
-
I agree. Stone with Elec. That stone melee set takes forever to recharge the attacks. With electric there is a built in power to speed up recharge, plus, you get power sink so you don't have to worry so much about End.
-
Corruptors have Scourge. End of discussion.
I've been wanting an Archery toon for years, but hate the redraw on a secondary on a blaster, and I couldn't stand TA/Archery on a Defender because I felt like I couldn't kill anything.
When Corruptors got TA, I finally got to roll my Archery/TA toon that I've always wanted. Debuffs and the ability to kill stuff.
