I did read it, and I chose to ignore it because the odds of getting what you want from the packs are better than the odds trading in AE tickets and Brainstorms as far as I'm concerned. And I don't have to do any mind numbing farming to get the stuff I want.

Anything that makes playing the game less boring and less of a chore is a great idea.

Whose obfuscating things? The devs told us exactly how the packs would work long before they were added to the game, and the price for each pack is clearly posted.

The random draws in the packs are no different than spending AE tickets to get random draws, or the random draws we get when we convert Brainstorms.

Random rewards have been an established feature in this game for years.

But what you don't seem to understand is that I only spent money on the account to be able to join a SG/chat privileges. I spent 5 dollars on the account (got an error said try again...so I did...then it became 10 dollars instead of 5). So while yes I COULD buy VIP...why would I?

I could have investigated the packs more before purchasing. But I actually did a fair amount...on my VIP account I purchased several packs which is where I found out about the merit vendor ATOs. On the VIP account it said nothing about meeting a requirement to make them by being VIP...and since they were just added I did not think to check on the f2p account as well...since ATOs were available to freebies.

And again yes I can trade the ATOs to my VIP account. But that's not the point I was trying to make. The point I was trying to make is that premium players who can't do that really get shafted since they can't check for prices, or list on a market.

Hearing about the i22 thing is great but I have one more thing to say...Even though I'm a complaining pain in the ***...the things I'm complaining about are obvious problems. They are either extreme oversights or ploys to earn extra money from honest paying customers.

You spent $5 bucks once and expect everything else on this account for free. As far as your Premium account is concerned, you are not a paying customer. You are just cheap.

The fact that you have another account that is VIP doesn't entitle you to special treatment for your Premium account. If you want extras then you have to pay for them.

Well Lucas needed something to distract people from the whole Luke tongue kissing his sister on Hoth. Mal don't cotton to that sort of thing. The man has morals.

Watch the movie Ultraviolet. Our characters keep their stuff in the same place she did.

What? Are you serious? The devs never advertised that the Super Packs contained 5 random draws from a pre-determined list of items? And the Super Packs have no price listed on the market, so people don't know how much they will cost before they buy them?

If that's true then that's totally messed up, but I'd swear I not only saw a dscription on how the packs worked somewhere but I also saw player compiled lists of what they got from the packs here on the open forums. I believe I also saw that the packs were being sold for 80 points each on my market interface, but maybe that's a bug.

That's not entirely true. Every CS job I ever had allowed the CS reps to tell abusive people that if they didn't modify their behavior while speaking to the rep, the rep would end the call. (and since all calls are recorded these days for Quality Assurance, it's easy to confirm if the caller is lying when they call back with a different story about why the CS hung up on them.) Same thing applies for emails. Emails are a record of exactly what you say to CS.

Cool, so in a few weeks the OP's complaint will have even less merit.

More likely he signed a contract that contained the option to do multiple films if required and was obligated to continue the role as long as was needed. That's how studios keep actors/actresses from bailing on them if they change their minds about sequels. Established actors/actresses can afford to renegotiate, but Ford was virtually a newcomer at the time.

Don't forget the Hero Collector's Edition Power Slide.

And not trying to sound unfeeling but if a player gets something they can't use it's because they choose not to use it. It's not the devs fault if a player doesn't use a certain power set, or Archetype, or has used all of his/her character slots.

(There's already someone complaining in player questions that he can't use the AT specific enhancement's he got because he used all his character slots)

You get other stuff for those 80 points you spend on each pack.

  13. So the OP is willing to buy Super Packs but unwilling to unlock extra character slots so he can create the AT's that use the stuff he got.

    Not seeing how this is NCSoft's fault. I'm a VIP and there's ATO's I can't use because I don't play those Archetypes. This isn't a problem with F2P accounts it's one of a player's own creation.

I think it says a lot that the OP still refuses to answer any of the questions put forth by Rajani and Texas Justice and instead he says he'll post video evidence, but pre-emptively accuses everyone of dismissing his evidence as doctored.

Sounds like a guilty conscience to me.

As for being civil, I'll be civil when people can give a response that isn't condescending or downright rude. I think I have every right to be annoyed with NC for this one.
The only person you have any right to be annoyed with is the person you see when you look in the mirror.

By your own statements you claim you blindly clicked the "Buy Now" button instead of the "More Info".

So even if there is a webpage that everyone here is unaware of that skips over the information page. You still are the only one responsible for not taking the time to find out what it was you were buying.

You chose to buy a product without clicking on the "More Info" and finding out exactly what it was that you were buying.

No matter how you try to spin this, You. Made. The. Mistake.

NCSoft is blameless. No one at the company forced you to disregard reading the product description.

And if the attitude you are displaying here is the same one you are showing Customer Service, you aren't going to be happy with the resolution.

Bear in mind they are not obliged to do it. The item really does say that it can't be applied to an existing account, so you have no one to blame but yourself. Support is just ordinary folks who don't make these rules. And any time they bend a rule, they are sticking their own necks out for you. So do please be civil.

What Gameboy said. Tho I don't think the OP can be successful at being polite and civil to CS. He's too wrapped up in self righteous indignation at the very idea that he just made a mistake.

For some people it's far easier to throw a temper tantrum that man up and admit they were wrong.
  20. No matter what the OP clicks on

he is still led to the same place.

And when you click on the "Buy Now" button the very next screen you are taken to is this.

You can't buy the VIP Starter Kit without going to this screen first, where it clearly tells him that:

The City of Heroes FreedomĀ™ VIP Starter Kit can only be used to activate a NEW account and cannot be applied to existing VIP or Premium accounts.

You can't buy the VIP Starter Kit from the Paragon Market.

I can recall a mercy kill or two from Mal, notably that villager in the movie when they escape from the Reavers, but the rest were people that were fittin' to do harm to him or his.

[A tied-up Crow is made to kneel outside Serenity as it prepares to lift off]

Mal: Now this is all the money Niska gave us in advance. You give it back to him, tell him the job didn't work out. We're not thieves... well, we are thieves, but the point is we're not taking what's his. We'll stay out of his way as best we can from here on in. You'll explain that's best for everyone, okay?
Crow: [stands up] Keep the money. Use it to buy a funeral. It doesn't matter where you go, or how far you fly, I will hunt you down, and the last thing you see will be my blade.
Mal: Darn. [kicks Crow into Serenity's engine intake]

[Cut to another henchman being placed before Mal]

Mal: Now this is all the money Niska gave us in advanceĀ—
Henchman: Oh, I get it! I'm good. Best thing for everybody. [desperate grin] I'm right there with you.

    ____

[Mal refuses to kill the prone, humiliated Atherton.]

Sir Warrick: You have to finish it, lad. [Mal doesn't move] You have to finish it. For a man to lay beaten, yet breathing? It makes him a coward.
    Inara: It's humiliation.
Mal: It would be humiliating, having to lie there while the better man refuses to spill your blood. Mercy is the mark of a great man.

    [He lightly stabs Atherton.]

Mal: Guess I'm just a good man.

    [He repeats the poking.]

    Mal: Well, I'm all right.

Simon: I'm trying to put this as delicately as I can... How do I know you won't kill me in my sleep?
Mal: You don't know me, son, so let me explain this to you once: If I ever kill you, you'll be awake, you'll be facing me, and you'll be armed.
Simon: Are you always this sentimental?
Mal: I had a good day.
