I wasn't responding to the OP in that post. I was speaking to you. That's why I use the quote feature. To let everyone know exactly who I was talking to, and exactly what that person said that I was responding to.
If you read the forums you'll see that people do this quite often. -
I used to think downloading movies off the internet for free was wrong, but now with the way Hollywood is making everything 3D just to charge more money, my opinion is changing.
Not sure what I'll do if I find myself thinking it's okay. -
Quote:Hey Zwill,I was just talking to someone about this today.
There's a lot of reasons. From what I understand there's some concern about actually adding the items to the editor. Also, some of the objects we've added to the game over the years are kind of like a theme park wild west show...a facade with incomplete surfaces that aren't player facing.
There's a lot of things we want to add to the base editor (furniture from Going Rogue, the aforementioned pinball machines, etc, etc...) and hopefully it's something we can accomplish.
I know you guys are probably aware of this already but I'll mention this again. Ya'll could make a lot of base builders very happy if the floor tiles could be reskinned (I hope thats the right term) so they have both a top and bottom, instead of only having a graphic on one side.
That alone would save us from having to place hundreds if not thousands of desks, tables, etc. Take that white floor tile next to the safe for example. If it had a graphic on the bottom it would only take 4 of them to make a lowered ceiling/second foor in a 2x2 room.
Another happy happy joy joy item would be the addition of a blank SG symbol in the base editor. A lot of us don't want SG symbols plastered all over the place. -
You're probably right, and selling stuff here would probably never work. We'd need something like a market where you could sell AT IO's to other players on any server or faction. Then you'd need to find players willing to buy them.
Madness. -
Quote:Porting weapons to SoAs isn't as easy porting between, say, Beam Rifle and Assault Rifle. Huntsmen have two "rifle melee" attacks, Pummel and Bayonet, and the animations for those need to be taken into account when selecting weapon models for them.
/This.
The animations for every single power in the set have to be worked on, otherwise we'll have issues like bullets firing from one location while the weapon is being held in a completely different spot. That's why it took so long for us to get power customization. The amount of work required to redo the animations is close to the same as creating an entirely new power set.
No offense guys but given an either/or choice I'll take a brand new power set over customization any day of the week. Either/or is the problem the devs face a lot. They'd love to give us both but all too often they have to choose between projects. -

Quote:I'll just requote Doc Roswell since you decided to come here instead of answer his question to you in the other thread.Still a ridiculous argument. Basically "Here, a Controller IO set! What, you only like playing melee so you feel like youv'e wasted your money? Well that's just YOUR FAULT isn't it?"
And for the record I don't use any of the AT IO's. So I sold mine. <Derp!> and made 500 million inf. -
Quote:Yes, I was wrong to have bought it. No I did not lie when I said it took me DIRECTLY to the payment screen. I'll post video evidence later, just to prove it which you'll no doubt say I must have doctored in some way because you're obviously never wrong yourselves.
Gee ... I wonder what's taking the OP so long to post his "evidence".
Three days and not a single video, or screenshot. Not even a link that we could click on that easily confirms his claims.
If I was cynical I'd say his silence speaks volumes.
Or since he's the one that brought up the topic of faking things, he's learned it's harder to fake videos than he thought. -
There's already a solution in place. Merits are character bound. No changes are necessary. If someone wants a chance to get some extra merits they can buy a couple of Super Packs.
-
Quote:I wonder if they intend to cycle out items like costumes and temp powers like the Wolf after a while replacing them with new ones, and offer them later on the market by themselves.heh people always seem to miss that.
The reward merits to me are the biggest game changer with these packs.
everything else, no so much.
I think folks would still buy the packs even if they didn't have costumes or the wolf gated behind them, simply for the reward merits AND the ATOs.
For that reason I don't see any issue with them allowing folks to buy the costume set and wolf outright. -
Quote:If you noticed Lucky pointed out I was mistaken and I acknowledged my error and implied it has given me something new to consider tho I'm not sure it will change my mind about the IO's that are account bound. That changes nothing about what I said.
The inability to use something won in a gamble pack was considered a problem by the devs.
This was communicated to us in the context of discussing the RMT aspect of making them tradeable.
The fact that you don't have a problem with the RMT part is irrelevant, as it was only the topic under discussion when the devs commented on and acknowledged the idea that getting a prize your could not use would be a problem.
I don't care about RMT either, i was simply offering context.
I need some clarification from your last post. How exactly do you mean RMT? I ask because I'm am dead set against RMT sites and in my mind RMT means those thieving pancakes.
If you mean it as micro-transactions, well I'm not in favor of them, but I'm a realist, I accept that when a game goes F2P they become a part of life. However there's very little I choose to spend extra money on. -
Quote:Most players using /hide don't do it because they aren't feeling sociable. We use it to cut down on the harassment from the jerks who can't take "no" for an answer. That said, /hide is still pretty effective if you're not feeling particularly sociable.
Sure we could spend our time online stopping every couple of minutes to use /ignore or /ignorespammer, or we could use /hide once and pretty much enjoy the rest of our time free of jerks. -
Quote:When Issue 22 goes live we'll also have the option of using Paragon Rewards to buy Super Packs. Yet another way to get packs for free.I don't plan on BUYING any super packs.. like every other VIP...I get a FREE monthly stipend...see there FREE
So for free I am getting a chance at all the goodies the super packs contain...enhancements, merits, costume parts, etc....
Quote:Everyone is sooo hung up on the "fact" that these cost points that they seem to forget we (VIPs) get FREE points every month...effectively meaning every month we can get 5-6 free super packs. -
Quote:Yep. Last year I was getting $770 a month for military disability. I got a cost of living increase in January so I'm now getting $797, which I supplement by selling blood plasma at a plasma service/clinic for another $65 per week.Don't you go on at times about how your income isn't exactly high - being on disability or something? (I may be confusing you with someone else.)
And in spite of my limited income I manage to pay all my bills, keep my account active, and squirrel away a few bucks every other month or so I can treat myself to something I want.
We grown ups call that living on a budget. So I have no sympathy for people claiming the games too expensive. If I can pay for my hobby so can they.
Quote:How much should someone be *required* to buy to use these little gamble-packs?
Quote:What if he has zero interest in playing an AT for the ATIOs he got?
Quote:Why should he have to throw money away?
Quote:Typically if a hobby starts seeming that way - I leave the hobby.
Quote:Have to wonder how many VIP/Premiums this sort of thing will be the tipping point for.
Quote:... which, of course, wouldn't help a Premium player. -
Quote:Thank you. I wasn't aware of that because I don't do the Incarnate content and only thru the Super Packs have I gotten enough merits at one time to care enough to start looking at what I can buy with them. I usually trade in my merits as soon as I get them for large insp which I sell on the market.Actually the AT IOs can be bought with both astral and regular merits on live currently.
Still not sure if that changes my opinion on the attuned enhancements being restricted, but this wouldn't be the first time the devs went in a direction that differed from my original opinion. No point in getting mad about it tho. It doesn't hurt me one way or the other. -
Quote:Unless I'm mistaken these new AT IO's can't be gotten any other way than by buying the Super Packs, someone has to buy a pack first. So they aren't like the Attuned IO sets on the Paragon Market which duplicate existing sets that drop in the game. It's really funny. No matter how much people argued against being able to sell the purchased IOs ingame, people defended it because if you could not sell them, then people might get stuck with something they couldn't use.
Now it turns out that, yes, people can get stuck with something they can't use, but it's still cool because...
They came right out and said that was the reason for making them tradeable, but people on here seem to have goldfish memories.
That's why I don't have a problem with these new type of enhancements being able to be traded and sold to other players. -
You keep saying that but you know I'm right. That's why you're walking away. See you want to ignore the fact that the Free and Prem accounts can't use AE tickets, and Brain Storms unless they pay extra so there is no difference between those random draws and the random draws in the Super Packs. They are still paying money for a chance to get something they want.
Heck even VIP's pay to be able to make random draws from the AE and Brain Storms cuz the licenses are included as part of our sub fees. -
Don't know, but I garuntee it'll be in the last place you look.
-
Heck when the Market was first introduced back in I9 the devs told us there was over 300 trillion influence in the economy that players had earned since the game launched back in 2004.
So of course the market has gotten more inflated since then. -
Log into your Master Account

and click on Billing Summary. It shows the Transaction History for the last 180 days and underneath that the microtransactions for the last 90 days.
Oh and BTW the Reward tokens are awarded at the end of the billing cycle not the beginning, so you'll get February's reward token in March when this billing cycle ends. It's worked that way ever since Freedom started. -
Just like to point out that /hide isn't perfect. You can still be pestered by people that see you passing by if they click on your character, or if they see you speaking in one of the chat channels and click on your name.
I've gotten a few angry tells by inconsiderate people angry because not only was I on /hide, I also had my flag set to red "not accepting invites".
One buttmonkey even followed me to the mission I was doing demanding I accept his team invite and threatening to stay at the mission door until I came out.
It was so surreal I told my SGmates and after using my Base TP to leave the mission four of us gathered on the roof of the warehouse across from my mission and watched him standing there for 30 odd minutes laughing at him amongst ourselves. The whole time he kept sending me tells making demands and threats. -
And the chances of getting IO Salvage and IO recipes like LOTG, and dozens of others from Super Packs is precisely zero so I don't know what on earth YOU are going on about.

Hey just remember that Mal figured out he wasn't the only one that got suckered into kissing Saffron.
Mal: You're a very graceful woman, Inara.
Inara: [surprised] I... thank you
Mal: So here's where I'm fuzzy. You got by that girl, came and found me, and somehow you happen to just trip and fall.
Inara: What do you mean?
Mal: Come on, Inara. How's about we don't play. You didn't just trip, did you?
(pause)
Inara: No. [You will remember that Inara kissed Mal while he was unconscious and that was why she passed out]
Mal: Well, isn't that something. (Mal smiles)
Mal: I knew you let her kiss you.
(Mal leaves, whistling, while Inara just stares speechless) -
I think those two would get along rather well. Marcus feels the same way about Ivanova that Rory feels about Amy. Now if they felt the same way about the same girl ...

Quote:First happened with Doctor #7 (much to his shock), but yes. It did happen.
Okay. I didn't get to see much Who after Tom Baker in my area. Pertwee and Tom Baker were the popular episodes that my PBS station broadcast. Caught some episodes of the Doctor when Ace was his companion, and maybe half a season when the blond guy after Tom was the Doctor.
