Quote:To bad there isn't a Trial that they can run where being unslotted doesn't matter while they sell the drops to make inf. Maybe somewthing in the Sewers, and a way to toggle off exp so they don't have to worry about leveling while they reslot their builds. One problem with returning players is that they are entirely unslotted which makes their characters unplayable. I think expecting them to run to the trainer, swap builds, completely rebuy their character, and buy SOs just to try the game is too much. This option let's them run off and play fine at normal difficulties in most cases I can think of.

Quote:Yeah, it's a shame there isn't a feature that let's them use a second build that they can slot regular DO's and SO's.Zwillinger, I'm VIP so this doesn't affect me, but I know several people who have logged in as premiums, realised their toons are completely unusable and given up.
It's a shame there isn't a feature that let's them pull enhancements off of a build like a repec or enhancement unslotter. -
Quote:Quite the contrary. It's seems to me that NCSoft is more than fair.Think about it. You can't tell me this doesn't seem a little unfair, even if you had to pay before and I realize that too.
Quote:But even some older players or even much younger players are now going to have to pay or play for an EXTREMELY long period of time just to use their good enhancements. Some young players aren't allowed by their parents to pay even for that little money.
I have over 100 alts and only a handful use IO's. -
Actually if I recall it was more than one. It was reported that certain people would have to be, not working for the company anymore.

If you want to unlock something for a character that can only be obtained by switching to another faction then you want to be there in order to get it. Otherwise you do without it because you don't really want it.

Quote:Uhm, I hate to break the news to you, but the villain population already dropped like a stone during the first year after GR launched. The people there now are the ones that want to be there whether they're visiting or permanent.$10 there and back again and I'd use a token, do a patron arc, get the PPP, use a token, and then go back to life as usual.
$20 round trip, probably not.
It's a redside QoL thing, make them reasonably priced and the transient villain population drops like a well weighted body. -

Heh, I'm waiting for the over the top posts. The ones that protest "false advertisement", "I'll Sue", "Wait'll the BBB here abut this", and "That's it, I'm cancelling my sub!". I get such a kick out of those. My favorite was in a thread that got deleted around November where a poster stated he couldn't afford the store prices because he and his wife only made 70k a year.

Waiting for the nerdrage posts that the Alignment Change tokens are too expensive.

We already got alternate animations to the Fire/Ice power sets. Before Power Customization was added we didn't have two swords to choose from. So if and when the devs go back to do more customization to power sets they'll most likely add it to sets that they haven't already done power customization work on.

Quote:That was a deliberate game design decision the devs made before the game launched. When the game was being developed Origins had a major impact on character design. The devs realized it was a bad idea and tore it out of the game, and instead made Origins a role-playing choice. The DO's and SO's all have the exact same modifiers regardless of Origin.Since I1 you were able to just choose an Origin. Since then there hasn't been much done with it, except for enhancements. Possibly once Omega is Available, You have to do Origin based quests and Defeat the Giant Neo-Shivan on its Home planet. Each origin would get separate quests.
While Origin specific missions sounds cool in theory, why should players be penalized by preventing them from getting certain missions because they chose the wrong character concept. -
Quote:While I agree with you, I mainly mentioned it in an attempt to cover all the pros and cons for consideration. Personally I have 3 SG's I've inherited that I'd love to change the names of whose original founders have been gone at least 3 years.Yes I would agree that SG name changes might allow a "SG thief" to do one more thing to further complicate his/her nefarious actions.
But as you already pointed out the Super Leader rank was established in order to let CS distance themselves from any player shenanigans like this. In fact it almost seemed like the Super Leader rank was actually going to pave the way for SG renames to be possible than the multi-leader scenario we used to have. Ultimately I don't think SG name changes would make SG thievery any more or less problematic than it already is. -
Or ask in chat. If you're on a free account use /help.

I also want the ability to choose which legs are robotic/cybernetic. Right Leg, Left Leg, Both Legs.
Right now if I want a character with one leg I'm stuck with a pirates peg leg. -
Quote:While a cool down period might discourage a group of players from abusing SG name changing, I don't think it would bother the SG thiefs. You know the ones that somehow get promoted to Super Leader and then take the SG for themselves.Yes there's always the chance that a SG name change token feature could be exploited by unscrupulous people in order to try to hide their activities. This is why most reasonable SG name change suggestions usually include some kind of cool-down period so that it can't be so easily abused. Making it so that a SG can only change their name once per month would probably be sufficient. Most people who "legitimately" want a name change will usually only want to do it once so the cool-down period will never affect them, whereas those who want to be naughty will be adequately hampered by a month long wait.
Considering how many players have multiple accounts it wouldn't be hard for someone who gets the SL rank to invite an alt on a second account into an SG, promote it up to SL, kick everyone from the SG including his original character in order to maintain the illusion of innocence, and change the SG name so no one would ever recognise it.
What about the cooldown period? Well if it takes "x" number of days to go into effect the thief simply does not log onto the secondary account until after cooldown expires and the name change goes into effect.
CS has already made it crystal clear that they will not get involved with these "thefts" because as far as their concerned the Super Leader is the defacto owner of an SG and everything in it. -

Quote:Where in my post did I give you the idea I was in Atlas Park when that happened? If you must know where I was, it was in Peregrine Island, one of the warehouses near the docks.lol - well, maybe you need to leave Atlas Park once in awhile.
Quote:I've been using /hide as the default for my toons since it went live and I don't seem
to encounter the issue you describe - Go Figure.
I suspect there's a correlation to be found there somewhere, but I'll leave it be...Of course I only have the frequency with which I get tells and blind invites while using /hide to go by so my data is incomplete.
Quote:PS> You didn't quote squat from me until after I quoted your "complaint" so you're
mistaken (or being intentionally disingenuous) from the get-go... Again, I suspect
a correlation.
Second what difference does it make that I responded to your post after you responded to mine? That is usually how conversations work here on planet Earth.
Oh and what am I mistaken or being disingenuous about? Do you think I'm mistaken that people have other reasons than sociability for using /hide? Or is it that you don't think I'm sincere in my belief that most people using /hide do so for reasons other than being less sociable?
If it's the former then I'll need more evidence than just your statement before I'll believe otherwise. My opinions are based on nearly 8 years of interacting with the other players in the game. If it's the latter, well, I won't lose any sleep if you doubt my sincerity about why people use /hide. -
This is the right place for suggestions, and /signed.

I've been told that in game and my current response is, "You're absolutely right, but I'm not required to team with you. Welcome to my ignore list."
I've been told that too. I tell them that when they send in the petition to make sure they spell my global name right so the wrong person doesn't get "banned". -
Quote:Well, in my defense I didn't say "everyone" used it to avoid jerks. I left some out because they might have different reasons.I hide from searches because my answer to a pug invite will always be "no", but that has nothing to do with those people asking to pug being jerks or me not being sociable. It just prevents them from wasting their time and me wasting my time.
