  1. Only problem with trying the help channel on another server is that F2P and Prem players don't have the choice of checking out the different servers. They have to permanently assign a character slot to a server before logging in.

You can't run trials without joining the LFG queue.

I think you mean a server wide channel. The problem with doing that with a global channel is that

    1. Global channels cover all servers/factions and F2P/Prem players will get frustrated that they can't team with many of the people on it because they only have access to specific servers/factions due to their limited character slots.

    2. Global channels have a limited membership.

What you don't seem to grasp is that nearly all of the player base prefers using closed teams and forming up before entering the queue.

Your ideas won't change anything unless the ability to form closed teams is removed from the LFG feature.

If free players can't chat with friends they made, they won't make friends - thus they'll form no special attachment to the community, or the game itself, making it very easy for them to leave at a moment's notice.
In the interest of protecting our existing Community which has always been so loyal, we've chosen to err on the side of curtailing the free players ability to grief.

As we've stated, the cornerstone of CoH has always been, and will continue to be, our veteran Community.

RMTr's and other unsavory's may very well be willing to spend $5 bucks on the game if they could get access to global channels. They aren't willing to do it for the price of 5 reward tokens. Whereas legitimate players will aquire 5 token in no time.

As far as the devs are concerned, yes it is.

That's too bad because the devs have told us otherwise.

You can argue with us until you are blue in the face, but the devs have already decided this issue, told us the reasons why. The best response you can hope to get from a dev on this is the standard "we'll pass it along" to mollify you and then they'll forget about it because it goes against their policy to protect their legitimate customers.

You aren't the first person to suggest the devs change the restrictions on F2P accounts. People have been arguing for change before Freedom ever launched.

Do you think the devs weren't aware that that would happen? The devs didn't pick that channel at random. When Freedom launched lots of things changed in the game. What the /help channel gets used for was one of them.
  10. There's a new GM that spawns randomly in every zone called Bob Barker that pursues characters in coyote form that get too close to him and he spays or neuters them if he catches them.
  11. You get the points each month at the start of the billing cycle, and the rewards at the end of the billing cycle.

They wanted to do the rewards up front but the devs said technical issues related to how vet rewards were awarded prevented it from working that way. There is no estimate on when this will be fixed or if it's possible to fix.

They NEVER said paragon points would be awarded in bulk up front.

    Hope that helps.
  12. The free character slot you are referring to was a part of the Vet reward program which we don't have anymore.

Don't know if the devs awarded people who had active accounts before Freedom launched one last one if their accounts remained active as their anniversary rolled around or not.

I don't see anything in the new Paragon Rewards about annual character slots being promised. However, now VIP's get a free monthly stipend that players can use to get up to 12 free character slots per year, or if they don't want slots they can use the stipend on something else.

Hey maybe we'll get lucky and the Doctor will regen as a female, then we'll get a run of some male companions instead of easy Earth girls.

The problem is in the tool, not the players.

And you shouldn't try to speak for the people that play this game.

It was the Players that demanded the ability to form closed teams/leagues be added to the LFG system. It was not originally included in the LFG design.

If the devs were to decide to remove our ability to form closed teams/leagues, players will just go back to recruiting people for trials in places like Pocket D and RWZ, or Atlas Park, before forming complete teams and joining the queue.

End result, you still won't be able to join their teams from the queue.

The problem isn't with the tool, nor is it with the players. The problem is assuming that our player base doesn't want control over who they team with.

We will control who we team with.
  16. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with the habit on an individual scale, but the devs were able to do datamining and see how much was going on in the entire game. They saw how much was sitting idle never being used, not being sold on the market, not being crafted into enhancements, just collecting digital dust, and decided that SG salvage storage needed to be cut back as a result.
  17. If they ever decide to bring back a previous character as the Doctor's new companion, I wouldn't mind seeing more of Michelle Ryan who played Lady Christina de Souza in the episode "Planet of the Dead".

    Is it justified?

Perfectly fine with the concept if it means we're constantly getting new stuff. I can choose to get what I like and ignore the stuff I don't, and if I choose to indulge my "gotta have it now" impulses I have that option or I can wait and get it for free with my stipend.
  19. The devs have explained their position already. I doubt they'll change their minds on this.

The current set up discourages the people/companies that would abuse the global channel feature by placing it behind a monetary gate that is just high enough to turn them away while still being affordable for legitimate players.
  20. Nope. Been using coyote since tuesday and my MM pets have never been dismissed.

Respectfully, that won't stop the willfully ignorant. You wouldn't believe some of the stories that I and others could tell you about people that refuse to read/ignore warnings and then blame the company/store for their stupidity.

I recall working CS for a major food company when a woman called up outraged that her son had an allergic reaction to a product she bought him. He had a peanut allergy and not only didn't his mother bother reading the ingredients, she blithely ignored the fact that the product had the word Peanut in the name. Nope it was the companies fault her son had to go to the hospital and she demanded the company pay for the medical bills.

The people that are willing to admit that they [pancaked] up are in the minority, or they are like Warkupo and don't bother CS at all.

There may have been but it doesn't invalidate the fact that anyone who has read the manual, or even just made a character and played the game knows that there is no such thing as respeccing out of an existing power set or archetype. They also know that this game has never had universal power sets that could be used by any archetype.

And anyone that complains that they are ignorant of the game mechanics has no one to blame but themselves because the information is freely available to everyone.
