Quote:Hate to break the news to ya, but if people were offended by that previous post it wouldn't read "Last edited by monkeyslap" It would say "Last edited by Moderater #" and everyone that quoted you would have their posts modded as well.To those I may have offended I'm sorry. My opinion about women was false, but the news report on the subject was true.
I did this as a test to prove a point: people can be easily offended by words. Whether it is a character name in a MMO, or just you politely expressing your opinion of an observation in life. It sucks that people can be so easily offended and hopefully one day humanity will learn not to be. But until then we have to strive to better ourselves and try to have consideration for others.
Sorry for the mild uproar I caused, but hopefully you can see the point.
And yes, my "observation" was not true about women. Men can be just as easily offended.
Edited for typos 'cause I'm a N00B. -
Quote:Well ya gotta remember that was all back when Cryptic still owned the game. If you ever played either of their following MMO's you'd know that not only are they prone to making stupid mistakes like the one you mentioned, they don't learn from their previous mistakes.Oh, okay. Hadn't seen that.
Seems kind of silly to plan on adding PvP from the beginning......and apparently not even consider how PC powers would work on other PCs. Telekinesis being a prime example of that, I mean, they seriously didn't see anything wrong with a power that can potentially make another player permanently helpless? -
Quote:Wow. That's a gem of a find Bill. I never knew that PvP was being considered that early in the game development. Thanks.I've got to call you on this one - not the balance issues, but...
Well, here. From 2002 - pre-beta (look at that interface!) specifically 8 minutes in:
"The third game play feature is the arena, an area where one player can face off against another player, team against another team in a variety of game environments. There'll be tournaments, ranking systems and so forth for people that enjoy facing off against live opponents."
...so saying "they didn't realize players would want it" is, quite simply, false.
(I just happened across this, btw, wasn't actually looking - it was from a related video on the echoey G+ hangout thing.) -
As I understand it the Xenomorphs are the result of combining the DNA of Lawyers, Politicians, Corporate Executives, and TV Evangelists.

Quote:I take it your daughter has her own Master Account to which you don't have access? I mention this only because I noticed I have the option to buy Paragon Points for any of the 5 CoH accounts listed on my Master Account.I would be perfectly happy with the ability to gift points in game via face to face or by email.
I have two VIP accounts and my daughter has an on/off premium account. I would love to be able to gift her points as needed.
I haven't tried it myself because money's too tight to experiment with. -
Quote:Been checking both folders several times a day but it is possible my email got screwed up. I've been having trouble with keys not registering what I type on my keyboard. The gametime codes were sent to your email as of last week. If you were one of the top three, you should have already received both (we don't apply the code ourselves, we send it to you).
Please check your spam filters, also, you may want to PM me the email address you provided and what character you were on so we can check it against our records.
Pretty sure I only merited the costume code so if those weren't sent out yet then still waiting till they do get sent. Will PM the info requested just in case. -
Yeah there was an Aliens series, a Predators series, and an Aliens/Predators crossover series.

Quote:It may seem obvious to you and I, but I've seen people misunderstand what their account (free vs prem) is allowed to have/do etc. so I asked for clarification, even tho the pessimist in me knows it's futile and some people will still see only what they want to see.Obviously, to get an auction license, you would be premium instead of free. I'm free, so I have my 25M cap (which doesn't seem to far away). Single origin enhancments don't seem like they will cost anywhere near 25M.
So, basically, I'm saying since I will cap at 25M, and enhancements don't cost much for the store enhancements, I probably have already earned more INF than I will need for the life of the character. I remember when I was proud of getting to 100k, then a player gave me 500k. Now I'm staring at 10M, and I wonder what it is for. -
Quote:You might get a quicker answer if you post this question up in All Access Technical Isues and Bugs. Link provided below to help. Thanks guys, now I would like to help a driver on a video. Mine is Intel 82945G express chipset family, and when you open the game, it asks to update and want to know if you know what driver I use more than recommended.

Quote:Okay I might be misremembering this from one of the Alien novels, but I thought drones had the ability to evolve into a queen if none was present.B) When the xenomorphs (the ones we're familiar with) got loose on LV-233, one ship managed to take off, but crashed on LV-421 when the pilot died. The pilot was infected with a queen embryo and she was the origin of the leathery eggs in the ship on LV-421.
But like I said I could easily be misremembering. -
Quote:Whoever complains still has to hope a GM agrees with them. And if the GM doesn't and they persist they are the ones that risk punishment from the GM's for harassment. So what... this game gives more control to the players who are easily offended?
That offends me. I want that to change right now!
So there is a check and balances to keep thing from being abused. -
Quote:This is a good example why I think the PvP game should be "weaponized." We won't bring our own characters into PvP, we'll bring a pre-built, pre-selected character that's designed for PvP and that we don't have to grind up.
So something like gladiator matches in the Arena except you are picking one pregenerated character and directly running it as if it were a regulat character.
I like this idea. -

I don't need them and it's unlikely I would buy them, but there was a time in my life where I didn't have a bank account and online transactions were a complete pain in my pancakes. Something like this is absolutely necessary to keep butts in seats playing this game. -
Quote:If you are a FREE player you have an inf cap of 25 million per character, and only 2 character slots and no market access anyway. In addition to that anything over the inf cap isn't stored. You'd just stop earning inf. And 25 million is more than enough to buy SO's.Ok, thanks. So basically if you are a free player, there is no downside, since INF is pretty worthless unless you are on the auctin house.
Are you perchance referring to Premium players which can have an inf cap up to 2 billion per character depending on how many Paragon Rewards they have unlocked? -
That's always been the way it worked. Several years ago I had to rename a character because someone was offened by the word Phart. I laughed at it and renamed the character the same name in another language.

I still love going to our local Drive-In theater. They get current summer release movies and only charge adults $5 bucks for a double feature.

Quote:Now this is an awesome idea.Should the Dev's make any sort of "tray effort", I'd love to seem them find away that we can save the current tray layout before "we" start your respec. I know this isn't a new idea, nor even my idea, but I still think it's a great idea.

Quote:/unsignedPRIMARY POWERS IN TRAY ONE.
SECONDARY POWERS IN TRAY TWO.
POOLS IN TRAY THREE.
I also don't put Primary's in tray one, Secondary's in tray two, etc. so this idea would be totally useless to me. I have unique tray set ups for each character which is determined by which indiviual powers get used the most.
The only standard set up I have on every character is the bottom most tray where I keep my travel powers.
Sprint-Ninja/Beast Run-Jump Pack-Travel Power-Pocket D TP-etc. ending with Rest. -
No one said they shouldn't. I merely pointed out that there will always be someone complaining. The fact that there will always be complaints shouldn't stop the devs from improving things. Some people just enjoy complaining.

Quote:Oh and Welcome to the game Marvels.Hello people, not the game even started, the update is taking too long. I'm in stage 3, and wanted to know what size of stage 4, and sorry if my English is wrong, I am Brazilian.
I don't know if this helps but I know there used to be Brazilian SG's on Virtue. I stumbled across a few members because I have a couple of characters with Spanish names, and they thought I might be bilingual. (Sadly I'm not.)
If you need help in game check out this thread posted by the Mentor's Project. A group of players that try to help out new people

Quote:Haven't you been here long enough to realize that no matter what the devs do there will be people complaining about it?It shouldn't be time consuming? It's not really time consuming anyway, and removing the last sentence of my post also removes the very "why?" you're asking.
Making it faster would lead to more mistakes made, which would lead to cries from the player base that the system sets you up for mistakes so you have to buy another respec and yada yada yada. It works fine the way it is, and it's not difficult. -
Quote:And that is exactly what the majority of the PvE community has done. Instead of going into PvP zones where they allow themselves to become targets of obnoxious wannabes, PvEers ignore the PvP zones altogether leaving the inconsequential nobodies to stew in their own venom and bile unable to find a targets upon which to vent their spleens. The super important thing about smack talk is to ignore them. "Don't feed the trolls." You just can't let yourself to be goaded into giving them attention.
Imagine how frustrating it must be for them when they realize they are being ignored in the game just like they get in real life and they are just as powerless to change it because PvP in this game can't be stumbled into by accident. -

Quote:The biggest problem with it is that City of Heroes doesn't own Mids, it's owned by players running the Titan Network and the devs aren't going to give players access to the back end of the games code.I don't often do respecs, but I agree they could make the process a bit smoother. However, I think there's a problem with implementing Mids with City of Heroes for a number of reasons, none of which I can remember fully right now.
Anyway, i'd back this
To the OP: adding Mids to respecs was already discussed in this thread made 4 days ago on the same topic.
