Only number 1
Growth - Streching, growing and srinking.
could be considered a power. The rest are merely suggestions for skeletons and costumes.
2. Dinosaurs - What ever dinosaurs.
3. Animals
4. Robots
6. Inanimate objects
8. Aliens
And number 7 Copying (Like the blue girl from the X-Men) is just duplicating the costume of an NPC or another players character. Unless the OP means to suggest something like the Arachnos Disguise temp power you get in Faultline, but the devs would never allow something that overpowered without seriously gimping it with restrictions.
and Mystique didn't copy powers, she only copied appearances -
Quote:Oh yeah that's a great idea.Toons should be able to put permissions on their personal vaults to allow other specific toons, globals, or even entire supergroups access. We already have the permissions mechanic in place for base storage items why not for the vault. I agree with the OP that the usefulness of the vault is not what it could be.
Then we can sit here and read hundreds of threads made by people complaining about how some stranger emptied out their personal vault because they stupidly gave access to their global, supergroup.
And of course their will be even more nerdrage when they find out that the GM's won't help them get their stuff back because just like base storage, when you give them access they aren't breaking any game rules by taking what they want from it. -
Quote:You understood that? Could you explain it to me in terms I'll understand cuz Power lost me./this
doing that would pretty much require recoding the entire game, so just no
definitely unsigned
I think he started out suggesting we should be able to play all our characters at the same time on a league, but then someone hit me with the Confusion power and it gave me an aneurysm.
I don't want to unsign on him until I know what he's suggesting. -

Reading this thread may cause heads to explode. -

No you can't. An email can only contain 1 item and 999,999,999 influence. You may only create 20 emails that have attachments.
Global mail sent to oneself will be kept for a maximum of 60 days, after which it will be deleted.
Mail that has been "bounced back" from a full mailbox will be kept for a maximum of 60 days, after which it will be deleted. -
Quote:Did you read the first part of my post before editing it? I'll highlight the relevant part in green for you.BUT...you cannot transfer said prestige to another group.
Quote:1) No. Merging SG's is not possible. Characters have to quit one SG to join another. And all prestige earned in a defunct SG is gone. It doesn't combine with the other SG.
2) Yes. Any prestige spent "improving" a base is returned when said improvements are cancelled/deleted. The only time spent prestige is not returned is when it is spent on rent. -
Quote:1) No. Merging SG's is not possible. Characters have to quit one SG to join another. And all prestige earned in a defunct SG is gone. It doesn't combine with the other SG.I have a couple of questions too.
1) Can two SGs merge?
2) In base editing, do you get back prestige if you downgrade the size of the base?
2) Yes. Any prestige spent "improving" a base is returned when said improvements are cancelled/deleted. The only time spent prestige is not returned is when it is spent on rent. -
Quote:Not only would that dev had to code the animations for every single existing power, but it has since been explained to us that the devs would have to go back and add animations for every new power that gets added to the game. It's been a while, so I may be remembering this slightly off, but essentially, the problem is that the way this game does animation, to make a fully functional walking speed would require re-doing all the current combat animations and then give them special cases that say "do this when walking, do that when not". So since, as mentioned, this was a free-time project, it was decided it would just be simpler to disable powers, rather than re-code the entire dang game.
Such are the limitations of a game engine eight years old that was only designed to work certain ways.
Quote:It requires the modification of every animation currently existing in the game to work with these movement modes.
Furthermore, it requires every new animation created in the game going forward to be created with these additional movement modes in mind, increasing the number of animations needed for every new power set, emote, etc.
This is not a simple request, it is an exponential increase in time and work for every new animation that is put into the game. -
I want a pony . . . made of bacon.

You can get the eye auras on the think tank head by making the last thing you do choosing the eye aura you want on an allowed head and then switching the head to Think Tank.
You can't do it the other way round. -
Quote:Exactly where in StarGeek's post did he WARM BOWL OF OATMEAL you out? Please quote it.Hunh. When I create a new thread, I get CREPED out because I didn't look to see if there was a thread already opened on the subject. When I find one with the Subject I am looking for, I get BELGIAN WAFFLED out for it being old. This is why I HATE using Forum.
You necroed a 5 month old thread to ask a question, which can get you modsmacked by the mods and StarGeek not only politely answered your question but gave you a friendly warning on what to expect will happen to the thread.
How is that getting BAGEL WITH CREAM CHEESED out?
If you sincerely found his polite response offensive then I strongly suggest you stop playing MMO's altogether because you will continuosly be encountering people a lot less polite than him in the games. -
He's not talking about the trays. I believe Sam is talking about how Kheldians have far too many powers and we have a finite number of slots to assign to our builds so one way or another we end up either gimping powers or not using the Archetype to it's fullest potential because we have to skip a form or two.

Quote:It was when they released Good vs Evil on September 29, 2006. From then on everyone got both "games" in one purchase.YEAH.. no idea where they came up with that but YEARS ago the two were combined into one and anyone that previously had access to only one . had access to both. I can't recall exactly when this took place but it was somewhere around the time of issue 6 or 7 when we got the PvP zones. Our available slots per server was increased to 12 and for one price of $15 a month all players could create characters and play both Blue and Red side. Now you can even include the Praetorian Zones (gold) side.. after a one time fee to gain access through Going Rogue a player can use all three sepearte worlds.

Quote:I would still like to see Premium players to be able to pay base rent.
I know several people who dropped to Premium, even if only for a few months or what not. It is absurd that when someone made an SG years ago, just because he is Premium, that he/she is not able to pay rent, even when that person is the leader.
At least make it so that the Red Star/Leader is always able to pay the rent and lift any restrictions.
Makes perfect sense since we know exactly what the dev's have told us about how they want SG's and bases to be group oriented content despite the work arounds we use to turn them into solo SG content.
And let's not forget the real reason people want solo SG's is for the extra storage. Why would Prems buy extra storage from the market if they had unrestricted access to base storage. Bases offer up to 540 salvage storage, or 1800 enhancement storage, 1800 inpiration storage, or a lesser combination of all three.
We don't have to like it but they aren't going to let Free and or Prem players have access to extra storage without paying for it some way. And the price for that extra storage is either $15 bucks a month, or recruiting a VIP into the SG.
It's your choice. Spend money or god forbid become friend with a VIP. -
Quote:I never said there wasn't low-mid level content, but previously any content was accessible by any character of any level. It isn't the case now so to experience all content you have to get to 50, and if you want to experience it before it degenerates into a grind that people only take their alts through now and again you have to hit 50 quickly.
Before incarnates you really could enjoy the journey, because once you hit 50 you would be doing the same stuff again anyway, on the same toon or an alt. Now once you hit 50 you get to play the rest of the game, which is just like all the other games out there. WoW has low-mid level content, but it doesn't reward you like the high level content which is why people rush towards it. CoX has now shifted it's reward focus to the same model.
Edit: Before incarnates I could pretty much shout up on the channels any time of day for a TF or group and get replies, now if it is not a trial most people are not interested because it doesn't help them progress their characters.Quote:How many times do (generic) you run Laura Lockhart's arc on the same character in one evening?
How many times do you run the iTrial de jour on the same character in one evening?
If the iStuff gets vastly more playable time added then it is the majority of the focus.
There's only 8 Trials and what is it 1 zone that is dedicated to incarnate content which is restricted to VIP accounts.
As opposed to roughly
35-40 regular content TF's, SF's, Trials, and Raids
At least hundred or so regular missions
Hundreds of AE missions
70 zones
PvP (what's left of it)
The Arena
19 Zone Events
3 Holiday Events Toting, Xmas gifts, Spring Fling missions, The Chalet mini games
That everyone can participate in without being locked behind a VIP subscription.
Yeah the Incarnate stuff is obviously the focus of the game. -
If you are wondering why it's because in the past RMTers have gotten their hands on inactive accounts and used them to spam their advertisements via PM's. Sadly there is no way to tell exactly who is posting until after the harrasssment starts. The only defense is preventative access, which sucks for legitimate players.
-
Did you ever stop to consider that at that time there were other things being worked on that required people to work longer than their normal workday so as long as someone was going to be in the office anyway they chose to update the store interface early as an act of kindness to the players.
-
I listen to marketing as much as I listen to the opinions of movie critics, which is to say I ignore both. Marketing sole goal is to say whatever it takes to get your butts in the seats, And I consider movie critics to be . . . well let's just say I have a low opinion of them.

Anything that can be traded between players is "loot". Just because we use terms like recipes, enhancements, inspirations, influence doesn't mean they still aren't "loot".
Heck even SG's classify as "loot" because we can transfer leadership and thus ownership between players. We've seen bidding wars on the forums when someone decided they wanted to "sell" their SG to the highest bidder. -
Quote:That's why I offered the alternative of moving that list to a kiosk. Far too many people dismissively tell people looking for a list of SG's to go to the registrar never considering that Free players can't even look at the list.IIRC - Really you only needed to spend $5 to get SG Access before Issue 23,
and as it stands now:
"Free/Premium players can join supergroups regardless of Paragon Rewards tier."
Note: "The Paragon Rewards Program launched with the ability to join supergroups requiring Tier 2, but Issue 23 removed the restriction. A VIP subscription is still required to create supergroups and all other activities that require access to the Super Group Registrar."
Quote:At one or two times - You could get a 1 month VIP account for either $.99 or $1.99 ? (Hhmm... Sorry, I can't recall clearly at the moment its too "late" for my schedule.)
But again the OP isn't talking about creating an SG or paying rent. He just wants to look at the list of the SG's on his server so he and others can find an SG to join. -
Quote:Uhm Texas, please go back and reread what the OP is asking for. He didn't ask for the ability to form an SG or pay rent. He is asking for access to the SG Registry. That's the list of the top 100 SG's on a given server.No. It shouldn't.
Forming a Super Group is a VIP only perk and is considered an incentive to subscribe.
Free and Premium players get quite a bit as it is for free. If they opened up everything that various people want opened up for free to all there would be no point in having a subscription.
This game will always be a subscription based game at the root with the addition of some a la carte purchasable items and a somewhat limited free to play aspect.
And as of Issue 23 which allows Free accounts to join SG's, access to that list is a useful tool for Free players looking for an active SG to join. Unfortunately for some technical reason access to the Registry is blocked because it can only be accessed at the Registrar. Sure before I23 access didn't matter because Free accounts couldn't join SG's anyway, but that is no longer the case.
Maybe the devs could move the Registry access to the information kiosks that are around the city.
/Signed to giving everyone that is allowed to join an SG the ability to look at the top 100 SG's in the SG Registry. -

Quote:The script writer is pretty spot on to human behaviour. You wouldn't believe how petty and childish our brightest minds can be. And once you realize how stupid the average person is, you need to remember how averages work and realize half the people are even stupider than the average person. If this movie is any indication, people react by either folding their arms and sulk in a corner because their fantastic discovery isn't fantastic enough, draw completely unfounded theories based on nothing, or trying to pet it.
And that's (presumably) the brightest minds money can buy. I dread to imagine what the script writer think the rest of us would do, but it probably involves running collectively off a cliff.
