A basic suggestion to make base storage much less of a pain to handle and organize: Make all storage accessible from a single list box. Click any one of the storage racks, and the entire salvage list pops up, allowing you to scroll through everything in storage, see how many of any type of item is already in storage, and click to add or remove a piece at will. Methods for sorting by name, filtering by rarity, search (similar to market), would be a bonus. The amount of available storage is determined by the number of racks installed in the base.
This would prevent 20 players from dropping 8 of the same salvage type into different racks, and having to run around the base trying to find where they are. Since the ridiculous salvage limitations were imposed on the racks as of Issue 13, it's more important than ever to keep the storage organized and not clogged up with a massive amount of useless stuff.
While we're at it, opening up those ridiculous storage restrictions a bit might be helpful... Or at the very least, remove the archaic 18 racks total for any base size restriction... Just a thought...

No.
Some SG's don't want you knowing everything that's in storage.
Some SG's have bins set up for personal use with rank permissions locking you out. It's none of your business what they have put aside.
Creative base builders even go so far as to block off sections of their bases so you can't get to their private storage.
This suggestion would only make it easier to steal from SG's -

How is the CH broken?
[/ QUOTE ]
He's mad because villains won't sell him what he wants for the price he wants to pay.
So what's "broken" is the players. Like the devs are gonna fix greed. -

Most importantly, transferring items to other characters on your account might allow those characters to outperform characters of an equal level but who have not received transfers. If that happens, it would become more difficult to generate content for players that is both challenging for assisted characters, while still beatable for those characters that have not been assisted. Game changes have already been done to limit the ability of characters that were outperforming dev expectations.
[/ QUOTE ]
If the above is really the "most important" reason not to implement the change, then I would say the argument against the change is very weak. As mentioned, players already have the ability to move items from one character to another character. It's just inconvenient, moreso for some than others. Players with more in-game "friends" have an easier time than the lone wolf type player when it comes to these types of transfers.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, people drive faster then the speed limit, but we still have them. If there is a good reason to have a control, even if not everyone follows that control, it is still useful.
for instance, in my home state of PA, the speed limit on many roads was increased to 65 MPH from 55 MPH many years ago. When this happened, the average speed travelled by vehicles on these roads increased, from 60 MPH to 70 MPH. When the limit was increased, so too did drivers willingness to bend the rules. If it had been only a desire to go 60, that could have been achieved legally with a 65 limit, but that wasn't the intent. People wanted to go as fast as they could without being so obvious that they would get caught.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah but there is also the fact that most people in PA know that the State Troopers rarely pull people over unless they are going more than 10 miles over the speed limit.
So if the Speed Limit is 65 and the cops won't pull you over unless your going faster than 75, then for all intents and purposes the speed limit is 75.
Whats on paper may say one thing but what gets enforced is another.

Maybe because if the stuff is free there's no need to "Mail" it to another character on your account.
The character can just pick up what it needs at the free enhancement welfare office and slot it. -
[ QUOTE ]
Someone needs to make one of those cut-n-paste replies to this "mail items to myself" redundancy.
[/ QUOTE ]
I was just thinking the same thing. All I got that applies here is this.
Pardon me if I quote Pax:
In an effort to convey a simple and direct response consisting primarily of the sentiment expressed in the word no, and in the honest belief that such a term is not intrinsically rude or insulting, while nonetheless avoiding the sting of moderation due to the policies outlined by Ex Libris while concurrently avoiding further elaboration upon the aforementioned simple response, the author has shamelessly endeavored to construct a post of artificially ludicrous length yet, he sincerely hopes, undeniably civil and even apologetic tone.
Sadly, the author has been placed in the unfortunate position of crafting a meandering and nearly devoid-of-meaning message due to the misperception, by some, that responding to topics in certain allegedly-more-important sections of these forums with an unadorned no constitutes, in some unfathomable to the author form, a direct and inexcusable attack on the originator of that topic, and indeed, upon the processes of conversation and discussion themselves. From whence this mystical power to stop all discourse arises, the author is sadly ignorant, for it seems to hold no such power in his experience and observation; indeed, it seems innately to promt a renewal of that discourse, in the form of another single and unadorned word: "why?"
In the meantime, the author wishes to renew his apologies for wasting so much of his readers' time in this probably all too vain and futile effort, with the observation that should you the reader have continued perusing these words to this point, it seems an inescapable conclusion that some modicum of entertainment value has been derived from them. Perhaps, if this is indeed the case, it would be advisable for the reader to seek a more fulfilling and engaging form of entertainment - for which, the author would humbly beg the privilege of recommending that the reader actually log onto the City of Heroes/Villains(TM) game servers for an hour or more; such an activity would certainly provide a more enriching and pleasing diversion for him or her (should the reader so elect, they may insert the gender-designative term of their preference here, as the author does not wish to give offense on any grounds aside from the unnaturally drawn-out length of this post).
*sigh* -
Edit: arguing with Evil isn't worth the effort.

Since you are aware that it has been suggested many times before, then you are obviously aware of the many reasons NOT to do it.

I am completely unaware of ANY reason not to do this.

It's your own fault for not searching and reading the previous threads on this topic. It has been explained many times in the past. Do your homework.

Actually, Forbin... I think it was less a copy-paste job and more a matter of verisimilitude and continuing storylines and interactions...
Though in some cases it makes -0- sense.
Trolls in the Isles is fine. They come from someone taking too much of a certain drug.
Council makes sense: A European Organization attempting world conquest.
Tsoo are fine: Thieves, Pimps, Murderers, and Slavers going to a lawless area to do what they do best.
Circle of Thorns are fighting against their ancient foes, the Mu. Who are apparently indigenous to the Isles?
But the Hellions and Skulls? Vahzilok?Warriors and Outcasts? Those are Streetgangs and a Mad Scientist's experiments. They shouldn't be a global phenomenon in their straight form. You don't have American street gangs in Europe, for example. So why would Skulls and Hellions be in the Etoille?
And the Heroes and Villains both -now- fight almost everything identically. Putting the Longbow and Vindicators on that list was a bit of a stretch, really... Especially since you didn't put Corallax on it (which are in the Hollows)
But yes. I'll once again suggest that if there is a 'Vigilante' designation or side-switching designation: Use the one I worked on.
If it's just opening all classes to all sides I'm fine with that, too. *shrugs* Though I know some people are vehemently against both.

[/ QUOTE ]
There are Corolax in the Hollows? Thanks for the info. I haven't been in there in years.
Anyway my point is that villains should be fighting good guys not doing the heroes jobs for them. Most of the villain content is spent being a cop. We should be using those npc's as allies, and getting unique evil mission arcs from them.
Oh as to the gangs, sadly in RL there is international precedent for gangs to be where they are. The Central American gang Mara Salvatrucha 13, or MS-13 is just one example, other examples are our own 1 percenter motorcycle gangs with chapters around the world. -

[ QUOTE ]
You don't like villain content, but villain content is the same as hero content. 95% of the bad guys you fight are the same NPC's you fight in Paragon City. You're just playing a hero for Recluse using different AT's.
Yeah, it's just you.
[/ QUOTE ]
Villains don't have access to hero missions, TF's or zones. So ummm, just how is villain content the "same" as hero content?
Granted, mechanically it is. Defeat foes, collect XP, level up and get new powers/slots. Rinse and repeat until you hit level 50.
[/ QUOTE ]
(Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with prefering one side over the other.)
I'm not just talking about the mechanics, It's the same darn NPC's. Sure the missions have different names and contacts, and they forced all the opponents into half the zones but,
Villains and Heros both fight:
Hellions
Clockwork
Skulls
Family
Council
Tsoo
Trolls
Banished Pantheon
Circle of Thorns
Devouring Earth
The Lost
Vahzilok
Carnies
Crey
Warriors
Malta
Sky Raiders
Rikti
Arachnos
Outcasts
Nemesis
Rularuu
Freakshow
Cimerer-whatevers
Red Caps
Shivans
Ghosts
Witches
Fir Bolg
Snow Beasts
Longbow
Vindicators
Nictus/Void Hunters
Do you see a pattern here? The Rogue Islands have the same dang criminals to contend with that Paragon City does. Claiming that the red faction are villains is semantics.
What do villains have that's original?
Snakes
Consortium Guards
Goldbricks
Luddites
Slag Golems
Corolax
Dockworkers
Wailers
Wyvern
Arachnoids
Legacy of the Chain
Cap Gremlins
Knives of Artemis
Sorry, but it has always seemed to me that the devs took the easy way out when making CoV. Whay create something new when they can cut and paste stuff from CoH. -

I dislike the villain content, but really like the AT's. If I could have a Dom heroside, I'd have no problem making a few and having fun doing it.
Probably just me though.

You can stack a column of Safes then use the white floor panel next to the safe and raise it up to the top of the stack and then move it sideways into place.
The floor panel is the same size as 1 square in a room. So a 1x2 room would use 2 panels to cover the whole room. -

Battlepack, while the amount of flack you've been given is a little overboard, don't be too hasty in disregarding it. Title Casing, which is what you use for titles, has it's place. But when writing regular of sentences in paragraphs, you'll be doing it wrong. No matter how you were taught.
As much as being ridiculed on an internet forum sucks, imagine the suckage of being ridiculed from a potential employer for the way your resume was formatted (assuming you apply for jobs using english). You have my sympathy for the embarrassment, but turn it into a good lesson to be learned.
May your next posting not get so side tracked.
