I'd like to see the hats, at the very least, be proliferated.
[/ QUOTE ]
THIS THIS THIS THIS THIS THIS THIS THIS!
I have a female character that would love to get the Renegade hat.
One other minor complaint.
The new Occult top hat with skulls. It really sucks that if I want white skulls on my hat I have to change my characters hair color to match. -

To begin with learn to use the edit feature if you want to add something to your suggestion.
No, we will never see this idea happen. It can be abused far too easily.
1. This opens the door for people to sell characters. A large portion of our playerbase uses time cards and there's no way to confirm that those accounts are being paid for by the same person.
2. Vet badges are awarded based on account activity. Allowing account transfers would mean characters with many vet rewards could be transferred to accounts that didn't earn the rewards, and vice versa.
3. Booster packs and new game editions are applied to individual accounts. Account transfers would allow people to get access to special items from one account onto accounts they didn't buy the codes for.
[/ QUOTE ]
First of all, why would it be a problem if someone is willing to spend $20.00 for a transfer just to receive Vet rewards, costumes and badges that they already paid for?
And lastly people already Sell Accounts, Buy Accounts Sell Gold, Buy Gold, Buy PL's and NCSoft is doing what they can to stop them.
I'll also say that I bet someone said basically the same exact thing as you when Server Transfers were suggested.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm just telling you the reasons we were told why this wouldn't happen when this was suggested before.
Personally I wouldn't mind merging the characters on all my accounts. But until and unless the devs can resolve the reasons they gave us for not allowing this, we won't see it happen. -

While I never spam anything in game (except Heals), I never really mind spam of any sort.
Spam email (in game or out)? Click. It's gone. Ouchie babies! My clickie finger, she is tender!
Spam Global? Who in their right minds, enjoying the game they are paying for and playing, pays attention to Global. It's the Muzak of CoX. It's there, but I don't have to listen, analyze or respond to it. The only reason I can imagine that somebody even reads what is in Global Chat is that they are looking for something that might interest them in some way, and when the 'oh so selfish' farmer John spams for a farm team, it upsets their tender sensibilities that farmer John did not entertain them with something of scintilating interest to them. Sounds a smidge selfish to me, but, as I said, Global Chat interests me about as much as grass growing. Actually, I sorta like grass growing... it's nice knowing that something else is living nearby.
The farmers affect me not at all. Someone getting PL'd? Same thing. In fact, I'll go one better. I will be annoyed when the farmers leave because they will take their subscription money away from the game I enjoy playing. Less money in NCNC's coffers means they are one dollar closer to shutting down my Server.
I am a selfish sob. And I have been the object of pages of repetitive Tells or monosyllabic local spam to try and 'get my goat'. The fools didn't realize that I wasn't annoyed... I was laughing my tochis off at their apparent lack of anything better to do.
But to each his own annoyance level. Carry on.

I've taken to editing my chatbox to limit the number of tells I get, and I don't use broadcast myself. I talk to friends on private channels. I do realize that there are people that choose to use Broadcast to communicate, that's their choice.
As to farming, if I don't know it's happening it can't bother me. I don't look for them, and what others do on their missions is none of my business.
However I do read the rules, patch notes, and dev comments so I know that they are against farms. So I have no sympathy for anyone that gets their farms shut down. In fact I find the antics of the players when they complain about it humerous. -

Ok this is a great idea & I congrats the Devs on it. Honestly its a great idea. My main problem now is that the farmers have made farming missions & now we have to weed out the real team requests from the farming ones. It was bad enough to see them spam farms, both free & ones you have to pay for, in PI & GV. Now we have to deal with it in all the zones with an AE building in it!! I was looking for a team in Talos. I was picked up & he said we doing a MA farm. I quit. Got picked up again for the same thing & again, I quit. So I started my own team. Got a few & they all quit since I was doing regular missions & not MA farm ones. I would like to know if there is anything the Devs can do to stop these farmers? AE has a lot of great possibilites but this is exploit plain & simple! These farmers charge players influ to join the farm team & get PLed. Now the players do that willingly & I can understand why but that doesn't change the fact. What is the point of playing a game when most of the people just rather get farmed & PLed?
[/ QUOTE ]
You don't like the way i play? put me on ignore.
Quit your [censored] and go play your game..
[/ QUOTE ]
I take it you are one of the farmers? Ok thats find. Farming a mission that you made isn't what makes me mad. Farmers spamming in the public chat channels like Broadcast , request, ect is what ticks me off. If you make a farming mission & you just PL SG friends or whatnot, thats fine. Its when I start a team or join a team & they just want a farming mission instead of regular missions, thats where the problem comes in. If you want to farm, then do it, just don't spam it in public chats. One of the coaliations that my SG has does a lot of farming. They PL SG & coali members & ask in coali chat if anyone wants in but they don't in public. That is how it should be done. While I still think its a exploit, I know that it most likely will never change. I know! All you farmers can make a channel & spam your farms in there. That way if people want to join a farm, they just join the channel & go from there. That way, everyone is happy.
[/ QUOTE ]
Spam is a seperate issue from farming. Not all farmers spam, and not all spammers farm.
RMT spam advertisements
Some SG's spam recruitment announcements
Some Powerlevelers spam for PL's
Some Farmers spam for farms
Some players spam team invites
Some players spam requests for invites
Some players spam inf begging
The only common factor spammers share is that they are all inconsiderate losers that only think of themselves. -
[ QUOTE ]
Nope.
Those terms are all subjectively negative in lexicon.
[/ QUOTE ]
Sorry to be a pain in the butt, but the words themselves are not offensive, it's peoples perception of the words.
For example:
In England a three letter word starting with "F" and ending with "G" that has an "A" in the middle is a slang for a cigarette, while in the USA it is a slang for a man that prefers sex relationships. -
Farms are exploits. Pretending not to understand that isn't going to keep you from getting banned if you get caught making farms, and CS isn't going to punish people for showing they care enough about this game to report the very things they've been asked to petition.

[ QUOTE ]
Using the Ship example. You get off the Tug Boat and cross the deck and enter the ship. Now to give an RP effect... upon opening the door you are overwhelmed with a sulfurous smell, or an alarm sounds(ambush trigger), etc.

Blood I do understand what you want and why, I just have an aversion to pop up windows, I find them very annoying and I do everything possible to minimize their popping up.
Now what wouldn't bother me is if the flavor text you are describing came up in the chatbox. -
[ QUOTE ]
Reporting someone because they have a farm published is griefing them and their playstyle. I truely hope that the CS team keeps logs so that patterns like that can be tracked and the false reporters can be banned from the architect.

Learn to read.
I14 Code of Conduct:
[ QUOTE ]
NCsoft reserves the right to ban any missions that contain any exploits that provide unintended statistical advantages. Players and/or “authors” that advertise exploitable missions through our forums, in-game chat system or through the Mission Architect system may be banned from the Mission Architect System or may have their game account closed.
[/ QUOTE ]
Issue 14: Architect Release Notes
Apparently you are wrong. The people that CS will be banning are the people creating farms, not the people reporting them. -

That's actually a good description of what I think of pop up windows.
To the OP:
I'm sorry but while I understand why you'd like this, I really hate pop up windows opening up when I'm trying to concentrate on the game. -

In technicality, Sharker_Quint is right. There were 2-3 dual pistol threads last week alone. Posting a fourth is considered spam, which by CoH Forum Mods, defined as:

Spam is considered to be repetitive posting of the same topic or text or nonsensical posts that have no substance and are often designed to annoy other forum users.

Find which arc they're doing and report it for content?
[/ QUOTE ]
Can you please link where exactly it says making farms is against the rules?
As far as i'm concerned, i will only report an arc for content if it is in violation of copyright, language, sexual content, etc.
[/ QUOTE ]
start reporting farms for content and the machine will bog down making it slower/harder to take down actually offensive content.
my friend's young son plays this game... let's concentrate on the real problems, not just play styles some people don't enjoy.
[/ QUOTE ]
I think you're confusing playstyles with a mission that gives out rewards that are disproportional to the rest of the game.
No one really cares if someone likes doing a certain mission over and over. The problem occurs when the reward ratio is out of whack. When the later is happening that mission needs to be reported. -
I gotta admit this never crossed my mind, but as long as it isn't too hard to code I can't think of a reason why this shouldn't be done.
-
Oh and on a few rare occasions I've come across glowie/blinkies that didn't glow/blink. The audio cue was the only thing that let me know something needed to be clicked.
Without that sound I'd have been really pissed. I have nothing but the deepest sympathy for my hearing challanged friends. -
[ QUOTE ]
It's been suggested before, I know. The place to post this is really in the Suggestions section. The dev's don't really read stuff here as a rule, so it's more likely to be see there. And there may well be a thread going with this suggestion already.
That said, only accepting from friends/SG as an option sounds good.
[/ QUOTE ]
Also since you have been told by DE that this is not a new idea, please don't start yet another thread on this.
Use the search tools and add your support to one of the already existing threads in the suggestion forum. -

Clearly it's a QoL change that wouldn't effect people who didn't use combinable enhancements...but I fail to see how that is reason to not have it.
[/ QUOTE ]
If it's a simple thing to code, then sure why not. On the other hand if it requires a lot of work, then leave it as it is, we've had it like this for 5 years, it's a Qol not something gamebreaking. -
[ QUOTE ]
yeah, me to. i use io's now. they dont expire which means more savings. and i dont have to change them for like 10 lv's or more depending on which ones i slot.
[/ QUOTE ]
Tell me about it. I slot IO's at level 7 and I don't worry about replacing them till level 27. I just fill the new slots with whatever IO is cheapest till I'm ready to do my first reslot in my 30's -
[ QUOTE ]
I mean out side of the combination screen. Right there where you slot them just plop it on top and instead of asking to replace or whatever it says it asks if you want to combine (again if applicable).
[/ QUOTE ]
Ok. Yeah I thought that myself a few times back before I9 went live and I started using IO's. -
Yeah the only delay is that little count up to 100% or the occasional failure message when they don't successfully merge.
But again that's the price of using those types of enhancements.
Oh and thanks for the sympathy Shark. This soreness is much better than the pain from the problems being fixed. (and it wasn't cavities, problem was infections below the gumline) -

Must be the painkillers I'm on that the dentist gave me. -
Actually I'd like to see more costume subsections myself, and not only what Sam's suggesting cuz there are times when I want a character to have say:
horns and glasses
chest symbol and a bandoleer
A belt and a tail
Sometimes I don't even want matching arms or legs/hands or feet, I have several magic artifact/cybernetic ideas i'd like to use.
More subsections will give us more freedom with our costume creation process.
