Instead of a taxi give us a bus.
We could then use those silly bus stops.
We run up to the nearest bus stop, click to activate it. That summons a bus to appear and stop where we get on, the screen changes and then we get dropped off at the closest bus stop to our mission.
Just kidding. -
Great work as always Bill.
I can't wait to add this to the rest of your Vehicle statement.

In all fairness, did you even read the OP?
Yes this idea gets brought up a lot. But reading over the OP, I saw that a lot of the common issues have been addressed.
[/ QUOTE ]
With all due respect to you Lavitae, were you aware a vehicles suggestion was just made a week ago on 4/17/09 under the novel title Vehicles?
The OP could have easily added his opinions on vehicles to that thread.

I just had an idea while playing one day. How cool it might be to have vehicles in the game. I remembered it while playing again today and decided I would Post my crazy idea.

As to the suggestion about vehicles . . .
In an effort to convey a simple and direct response consisting primarily of the sentiment expressed in the word no, and in the honest belief that such a term is not intrinsically rude or insulting, while nonetheless avoiding the sting of moderation due to the policies outlined by Ex Libris while concurrently avoiding further elaboration upon the aforementioned simple response, the author has shamelessly endeavored to construct a post of artificially ludicrous length yet, he sincerely hopes, undeniably civil and even apologetic tone.
Sadly, the author has been placed in the unfortunate position of crafting a meandering and nearly devoid-of-meaning message due to the misperception, by some, that responding to topics in certain allegedly-more-important sections of these forums with an unadorned no constitutes, in some unfathomable to the author form, a direct and inexcusable attack on the originator of that topic, and indeed, upon the processes of conversation and discussion themselves. From whence this mystical power to stop all discourse arises, the author is sadly ignorant, for it seems to hold no such power in his experience and observation; indeed, it seems innately to promt a renewal of that discourse, in the form of another single and unadorned word: "why?"
In the meantime, the author wishes to renew his apologies for wasting so much of his readers' time in this probably all too vain and futile effort, with the observation that should you the reader have continued perusing these words to this point, it seems an inescapable conclusion that some modicum of entertainment value has been derived from them. Perhaps, if this is indeed the case, it would be advisable for the reader to seek a more fulfilling and engaging form of entertainment - for which, the author would humbly beg the privilege of recommending that the reader actually log onto the City of Heroes/Villains(TM) game servers for an hour or more; such an activity would certainly provide a more enriching and pleasing diversion for him or her (should the reader so elect, they may insert the gender-designative term of their preference here, as the author does not wish to give offense on any grounds aside from the unnaturally drawn-out length of this post). -

Oh and to help you out in the future before posting:
a tip on searching.
1. Click on "Search" up at the top of the forum.
2. On the left, under "Forum(s) to search," select "Suggestions and ideas."
3. On the right, Keyword Search Terms. This is probably where your problem was if you did search. Try the following, exactly as typed:
+vehicle -"re: "
This will search for anything with the string "vehicle" in the title. The -re: portion of it removes replies, so you'll see the root of every thread that comes up, letting you see just how many threads there are on this. (The last helps for other subjects, as well.)
Be sure to put the space between the colon and last quote.
4. Click the "In subject" radio button. This is a search, not a cute blonde in a bikini. Here, you want to ignore the body.
5. Leave Username Search blank.
6. Date range, Newer Than, change the 1 to a 3, and the time to Months.
7. Result format doesn't matter. Click on "Submit."

We need a mailbox, stat!
For transferring inf., salvage, enhancements, tickets, etc. to characters on your own account or other characters and friends ingame. It's rediculous having to trust someone else you may not know with your stuff. And it sucks when you play solo a lot. You ain't got time to do all the arrangements for 9,999,999 one trade at a time to some stranger just to hope and pray he doesn't take your lo0tz.
We need this fast. Like tomorrow, maybe? (wishful thinking)

Ok. For all of you who want to "email ingame items to myself", I give you a challenge.
Come up with a VALID reason as to WHY you should be allowed to mail emails to myself by following these rules:
(1) Refrain from using OTHER MMOs as a source of reference.
(2) The reason(s) MUST be in paragraph form. None of the following will be allowed:
(a) Because it would be cool.
(b) Because we need it.
(c) Because I'm bored.
(Invalid reasons)
(3) Spell check and sentence structure is important. (Remember you're trying to convince the majority of players WHY this feature is needed. Please, sound out the word(s) before you type them.)
(4) Your statements MUST be based on FACT and NOT the rantings of a 5 year old that just wants and wants and wants.
(5) Your reason(s) must FIX the issues rather than create new ones
So, there you have it. Lets see what you've got.

Another suggestion is that we condense inf. Why do we buy things for like 60,000-5mil inf? Why not condense it down to like 60-100 inf. for enhancements at lower levels and a few thousand for higher level or more rare enhancements, recipes, salvage, etc.
It'd make money easier to handle, IMO.

Let there be no rest until we can appropriately emulate the Village People in full!!
Seriously though, many people have issue with the use and appropriation of their respective flags for recreational means. I understand if this is part of the reason that flags are not part of the current cape line up. SH costumes tend to be allusions to, not full replica of, the flag of origin as not to slight the veterans of said country.
The only way I can see an international pack being a good idea is if there was a literal ton of assorted choices as to not turn it into a game of perceived favorites. And I want a sombrero.
[/ QUOTE ]
There's also legal issues. Some countries (in which this game has customers in) have laws that prohibit the manner in which their nations symbol (the flag) can be portrayed. So the flag pattern cannot be used in any other manner than on a flag.
Even the US has federal flag laws although they aren't enforced. -

Ninja are technically ethnic....
However the Ninja pieces in the game look NOTHING like what real ninja would wear.
Closer to a real ninja would be a terrorist blowing up a building by dressing up like someone who would GO to that building.
The mystique and black catsuits in the night are a bastardization of what ninja really were. The closes thing to 'all black' a real ninja might wear would be during a play.
In Japanese theatre 'special effects' were implemented early on. People wearing head to toe black would move about on the stage waving fans, moving objects, and other things while being contextually ignored by the audience. It's possible that some ninja infiltrated a theatre troupe and used that 'role' to assassinate someone.
The Ninja that we know of in modern times have been westernized to the point of not being Japanese at all, in many cases. They've become as much a part of western cultures as Zombies. Which most people don't attribute to Houdoun traditions.
Ninja aren't 'Japanese' anymore. They're just 'ninja'
-Rachel-
[/ QUOTE ]
Epic Failure on your rationalization Rach. If you go out and ask 100 random people what the first nationality or ethnicity they think of when they hear the word ninja you will get 100 japanese/oriental as the answer. To claim otherwise is a load of crap.
Futhermore if the devs wanted to keep religious, ethnic, or nationalist items out of the game then they will have to remove the following items.
Samurai Armor - Japanese
Martial Arts uniform - Oriental
Medieval Armor - Caucasions
Ninja outfits - Japanese
Kilts - Scottish/Irish
Ankh chest symbol - Egyptian
Celtic symbols - Scottish/Irish
Devil symbol - Christianity/Catholic
Eagle 1 symbol - Native American
Eye of Horus symbol - Egyptian
Hammer & Sickle symbol - Russian/Soviet/Communist
Liberty Bell symbol - American
Maple Leaf symbol - Canadian
Pentacle symbols - Wiccan/Satanic (No relation to eachother)
Shield 2 symbol - American
Yin Yang symbol - Oriental
Cowboy Boots/Hat - American Western/Southerner
Conical hat - Chinese/Korean/Vietnamese
Egyptian hat - Egyptian
Viking helmet - Scandinavian
Saxon helmet - Germanic
Crusader Helm - Christianity
Tiara 7 (ankh) - Egyptian
Mongolian bow - Oriental
Gladius - Roman/Italian
Khopesh - Egyptian
Arabian Scimitar - Arabic
Tribal Shield - African
Katana - Japanese
Wakazashi - Japanese
Tanto - Oriental
Sai - Oriental
Ninja blade - Japanese
Shillelagh - Irish
As everyone can see we have plenty of costume pieces that are obvious religious, ethnic, or nationalist items. There is plenty of precedent to allow the requested items. -

I recommend enhancements be removable
[/ QUOTE ]
Enhancements are removable. You use a respec to do it 10 at a time. Also the devs already admitted that it was a huge mistake to let us remove 10 enhancements in the first place.
[/ QUOTE ]They never said it was a mistake. They said it was a generous allowance.
[/ QUOTE ]
I could have sworn they said it was a mistake but it's very possible I'm misremembering what someone else said in a discussion about it. I bow to your superior memory F_W.
In any case we'll never see them grant us the ability to simply remove enhancements at our whim. -
Lol.
Well I saw no emphasis on the OP's please so I'm willing to give him the benefit of doubt until I see how he responds. -
Using the word please is not a demand, and not giving justification for a suggestion is not unusual either.

and that our personal storage space be increased.
[/ QUOTE ]
You already have that feature. All you need to do is make a personal SG. Then you can buy up to 18 storage bins to hold your enhancements, salvage, and inspirations.
[ QUOTE ]
It would also be nice to store them in the vault.

Don't hold your breath.

With this change, I think you'd see more old enhancements finding their way to the market.
[/ QUOTE ]
You obviously are underestimating peoples desire to hoard. If you let people remove enhamcements willy-nilly they'd only start using their dual builds as a way to store and hoard enhancements. -

I vote no on removing the buildings.

Thanks Abrahms. I guess I'm stuck with never changing the costumes on the characters I've already created that have both cape and bolero.
I just wish I hadn't decided to wait till a couple reached level 14 to get the wings.
*Sigh* -
Also Kudos to SexyJay on the Witches outfit. Forgive my language but he did a great job on making the boobies look realistic.
I wonder how he finagled hiring the strippers to model for the costume designs on his expense account . . . -
[ QUOTE ]
The Boleros are animated? (I haven't played with the Magic Pack Costume items yet.)
[/ QUOTE ]
They come with a buttcape like the trenchcoats. just fancier.
Click on Living Dead Girl for a nice pic of the Bolero with Wings. -
I'd be happy with a compromise. If SexyJay is willing to give us wings back with Bolero I'd happily give up the buttcape. Wait I said that before too.
See kids this is what happens when you go too long without sleep and make posts. -
Is there something wrong with me because my first thought when I read Radiation Melee was of a 100 story tall giant radioactive lizard walking thru Steel Canyon while hundreds of civilians ran ahead of it screaming, "Godzilla!"
