Quote:Why ask them to wait? Why drop the team?
Say you need to re slot and they should start without you.
Team goes on to next mission, you re slot and everyone wins.
I see teams taking breaks together to level up and slot, grab a beverage, hit the bathroom. Come back 15-20 minutes later ready to go. -
Quote:Ok, maybe amaze was a stronger word, surprise might have been better, allow me a bit of hyperbole at least
But even so, these cards are over a 100 years old and no one has found them in a loft that people live in? No one has sorted out that loft in a 100 years? Even if they are from the 40's, that's still over 70 years!
I wish I had a family member with a home that old, I'd be straight in that loft, just in case
Have you any idea how much stuff accumulates in attics, lofts, etc in homes where the same family lives for decades?People put stuff away for safe keeping and forget they have them., or if they do remember them they can't remember where they are or look at all the junk they have to go thru and give up cuz it's too much work to go thru everything.
When my Grandfather passed the family found an old dresser under a bunch of other crap that was filled with coins. There were so many when we opened one drawer the bottom fell out from the weight.
When my aunt passed away we found War Bonds from WWII that she had stashed away and forgot about.
I think what's more surprising is the amount of valuable items that get thrown or given away because people assume it's junk. -

Quote:The game already has a solution for this called basic IO's. You can slot them and they never expire.Yeah, this needs fixing. I'd say its possible to say start a task force late at 26 (with level 25 SOs) and hit 29 (when they expire) if you're running at +2.
Instead of expiring completely, have SO's remain at +23.3% indefinitely (and DO's stay at half that or whatever they are).
The early game DO to SO balance seems about right, what with all the other factors like Beginner's Luck and ramping up of AT modifiers.
I remember the first time this happened to me, and I was puzzled as to why levelling up made me move so slowly - back in the days of 3 slotting Hover. -

Quote:And people trying to make arguments like this to get around the rules are exactly why the rule is as broad as possible and allowed to be open to GM interpretation on a case by case basis.Hi
I will be honest, and admit that I have not read the whole thread. But I do have one that may raise questions.....
If my name in real life IS Michael Jackson, and I proceed to make a character after my own name, would that still be in violation. Lets face it, the Celebrity Michael Jackson did not own copywright to my name?
Infact, I am pretty sure you cannot even copywright a name. -
Why does it amaze you? The whole point of collecting those things is to hold onto them, and by the time they become valuable decades later you've either forgotten about them, or you're holding onto them for sentimental reasons because they remind you of your childhood.

Quote:I really do not see that it would have and effect on the game plenty of people do the tip missions and are Vigilante or Rogue and sense you are only going half way to the other alignment it should only cost half.
What part of tip missions being gated content do you not understand?
Players that don't subscribe or have not purchased the alignment system for $15 dollars CANNOT get tip missions.
Selling a token that traps premium players between hero/villain alignments and forces them to buy either another token to get out or buy the Alignment system on top of the token so they can start getting tips to get out is a horrible idea.
And no you aren't going halfway to anything. Rogue and Vigilante are valid separate alignments that allow players access content from both the hero and villain factions as well as tip missions if they have the alignment system unlocked. -

Quote:If you feel the need to ask that then the answer is yes, you personally should be charged not only for the things you mentioned but for everything you forgot to mention. It is a data entry just like any other. Should they charge me when I change my Influence value? How about when I slot an enhancement? What about when the amount and type of inspirations I have change? How about when I get a salvage drop? Or when I move a piece of salvage from my character inventory to my vault?
Changing the data in our data fields happens constantly to any character. Changing the value of the Name field is no harder. Charging so much for changing the data on one field is appalling. -
Quote:I'm quite pleased with this one I threw togetherIt would be nice if the Water Blast set went on sale with those halloween fishman costume pieces bundled with it for the first week (like when Titan Weapons was released with the free weapon pack).
I missed the halloween set this time around so am a bit sad when I see all those cool auras and costume change emotes.

Quote:To be honest I'd only expect to see the fish monster parts put on sale alongside an aquatic themed costume set like they did with retro Sci-fi.I was legitimately surprised not to see the fish monster pieces for sale this morning. It's such a no-brainer.
I mean, I have them already, and I didn't even use them for either of my Water Blast characters (I went with a wetsuit, and a big anthropomorphic soda dispenser), but still. It seems like a missed opportunity.
In lieu of actual fish-pieces, new or old, I've found the Bioluminescence set works well for a fish-man who's less fish, more man. -
I can't wait for the inevitable hollywood spinoffs.
Ben Franklin meets Frankestein's monster
Custer and the werewolves at Little Big Horn
George Washington and the curse of the Mummy

I don't put much into the griefing players argument but I can see the logic behind making it just too expensive for people wanting to circumvent getting back their names after they got genericed by a GM.
Circumventing a GM's decision outside of an appeal is a bannable offense and that causes the company to lose a paying customer, where the price of a rename as it is simply discourages people from doing something that will cost them their account. -
Quote:That all is true but you are dealing with people on the internet and as we all know quite well if you don't spell things out exactly and pound it into their heads with a 10lb sledgehammer until their brains are oozing out of their ears they will misinterpret everything that gets posted. The store on the corner sells 2-liter bottles of Pepsi for $1.50, but if you get four of them at once, it's $5.00. How much does a 2-liter of Pepsi cost?
See, "per $15" is shorthand, because otherwise the math gets complicated. The fact is, how much money it costs to get a reward token doesn't have one single answer. But if you put up $15, either in the form of purchasing points or paying for a month of VIP time, you'll get at least one token. Maybe more, depending on the math, and your previous purchases.
VIP time also gets cheaper if you buy more at once, but for clarity and simplicity, it's $15 a month.
So basically, $15 gets you a token. Anything else is either a bonus or a bulk discount.
Even that won't stop people from twisting what was said to mean something else, but at least we can point to the original post and show what was actually said. -
Quote:I had no problems making aquatic themed costumesI like the new water blast powerset, but wish i could have more of an fish/amphibian appearance.
To that end I suggest that water blast could use some new animal heads for water based characters.
Quote:Fish, Reptile or Amphibian heads would look great with a water based hero.
Quote:One of the costume sets had monster heads which contained a fish based head, it would be nice if that were available at the Paragon Store, since the only other head we have at this point is the original reptile head.
That item is part of the Halloween pack
and should remain exclusive to that pack unless the devs decide to release an underwater themed costume set and put the "Fish Monster" parts on sale for a short time like they did with the Think Tank parts when they release the Retro Sci-Fi costume set.
Quote:In addition webbed hands and webbed feet might be worth adding for water based characters as well. -
Quote:/This.Note that it's per 1200 points, not per $15. This matters sometimes; $100 gets you 8 tokens.
It's only 1 paragon reward for $15 bucks if you buy points in increments of $5 dollars. All the other point packages give bonus points which count towards the next reward.
$15 dollars gets 120 bonus points
$50 dollars gets 600 bonus points
$100 dollars gets 1600 bonus points -
Quote:It's called a sense of humor. You should think about getting one since your the only one that assumed the post was serious in spite of my use of emoticons to indicate I wasn't.Why does it matter then? They're there. They're not really in that great of number. And most of them have the common decency to not share their proclivities with those that don't want to be involved.
Shooting down the idea because "Some group that I don't like or approve of might use it" is pretty much the worst possible reason to do so.
Now I don't know where you could find a sense of humor but I've heard rumors the search starts with some sort of medical procedure that involves removing a stick of some sort. -
Quote:/This.Why..?
You hate this game so much that you want to skip everything the game actually is. Test the powers on level 50. And then go away and never play again?
Oh and Liz I just checked the link in your sig for the first time and that is a really nice character biography you have there. -
Quote:/This.I'm pretty sure that the Alignment tokens only go to the full alignments because the devs don't want people to have access to the "in-between" alignments unless they have access to the alignment system.
And if they did do this, I can't think of any good reason why its cost would be any different than the existing Alignment token's. -
