I don't think the dev's are too happy or proud to be forced to take these measures though (which I understand), hence why most posts about these r3movals/b4nz have been quickly de1eted to save face and keep the community at ease/happy.
[/ QUOTE ]
There's also the fact that when the subjects of disciplinary actions come here to post they never take responsibility for their actions or show the slightest bit of remorse. Instead they spout vitriol and bile while making baseless accusations about nefarious plots against farming and powerleveling community. Threads like that will never serve any useful purpose and should be locked and or deleted. -

I was just saying...I'd really like to see something done with bases...
[/ QUOTE ]
Not trying to give you a hard time here Sonic, but there is something you need to realize and accept, and that is that what you may want for bases isn't necessarily what everyone else wants.
You may like base raids and PvP, but there are a lot more of players that prefer to see bases get other things first. -
[ QUOTE ]
Also, the market is not cross character. If a member of my SG wants a recipe I am holding in the auction house on an alt, I have to leave my mission/group, log out, log in, get to a WW, and hand over the item. Certainly not anywhere near as useful as a base bin.
[/ QUOTE ]
I agree completely.
I was just pointing out that the CH now can function as additional individual character storage, as long as the account is kept active.
It's not perfect, but at least it's something. -
-
[ QUOTE ]
Frankly, I support even PERSONAL salvage storage being converted to multi purpose storage, with enhancements and recipes being storable for a certain salvage space amount. So I can see it for SG storage too.
[/ QUOTE ]
That would be nice but with the removal of the 60 day rule at the CH we sort of have that now. We have to choose between storing and using the slots buy/sell at the market. -
[ QUOTE ]
To me this actually makes sense if I can store the raw materials why shouldn't I have a Library of sorts where I can store recipes for later reference?
[/ QUOTE ]
Just for the sake of discussion, I'd like to point out that the devs have already given us the ability to store recipes here.
[ QUOTE ]
Black Market / Wentworth's Consignment House
Characters (on active accounts) who have inventories, bids or items for sale in the Black Market or in Wentworth's Consignment House will no longer have to log into the game within 60 days to avoid item or influence/infamy expiration.
In-game Black Market and Wentworth employees will still give their friendly reminder, however if your account is "active", they won't take your "stuff".
[/ QUOTE ]
As long as your account is active you can store recipes indefinitely in some of your market slots.
The only thing a recipe bin in a base would give us, that we don't already have, is the ability to easily move recipes between characters on the same accout without involving a third party.
And yes I want base recipe storage. -
[ QUOTE ]
I talked to our SG/VG leader and she is going to set up a "knitting party" where we are going to make Rare Salvage out of most of our old Base Salvage.
[/ QUOTE ]
Before you do that, have them check what the base salvage is selling for on the market. There are several pieces of base salvage that are selling for millions.
Cash those in, you'll still have plenty to convert to rare IO salvage. -
-
[ QUOTE ]
And the rednames (Lighthouse I believe) were even stating that Wentworths and Black Market aren't for storing stuff. I do believe the 30 day limit on how long an item can be stored there is in order. I have a few toons where salvage and recipes keep disappearing from WW.
[/ QUOTE ]
I forget the thread where it was pointed out to me but they showed the patch notes (I think it was patch notes) where they said that the 60 day rule was removed from the game.
Now I don't know if it actually was removed because I never use the CH for storage. So it could be that things are still disappearing. All I can say is I did read the actual message that said it was removed.
It wouldn't be the first time that the notes gave conflicting information. -
What every one else has said.
Also there are other factors to consider.
1. Players have the ability to hide from searches using the /hide command.
2. The ability to find teams on any server is linked to the time zone you are playing in. Prime time playing in the US is not the same as Australia or Europe.
3. The ability to team is also linked to the effort one puts into forming a team. The only effort some players (I'm not saying the OP is one of them) make is to stand in one spot and spam "LFT".
4. Some rare individuals can't find teams because they have been put on so many players ignore lists. (Again, I'm not implying the OP is one of those players) On lower pop servers it's easier to get blacklisted by the entire community because they all know eachother.
5. Factions. Redside has always had a smaller population than Blue, and therefore their population is smaller when spread across eleven servers.
6. The same thing goes for PvP.
7. The new MA has many players tied up in creating and testing arcs.
I'm sure there are other factors I have forgotten but you get the idea. -
No, the problem I was having was that when I tried to set the permissions they would reset to the default whenever I left exited the base editor.

Anyways I'm against this, I'm sure recipe prices would go up because lack of supply.
[/ QUOTE ]
And I call that a load of BS. Why?
I already store recipes in Wentworths/BM, or on my higher level characters. Or make them and throw them in my various SGs "IO Hold" bins. I know many, many others who do the same thing. It's roughly as common as breathing.
It's *already happening,* and has been since inventions came in. Removing the 60 day limit from the consignment house made it even easier.
And "Enhancement hogging?" Really? So actually doing things like, oh, crafting a bunch of lvl 15-20 Acc, Damage, and END reduciton IOs for the lowbies in the SG is a bad thing? I don't think so. Guess where they go? Hasn't seemed to hurt the market so far. Heck, I've been throwing SOs and DOs in bins since we had them to help out lowbies.
[/ QUOTE ]
This and I'll again throw my support to a compromise that has been suggested in the past several times.
Allow recipe storage with a caveat. A recipe will take up say 5 salvage slots. This will limit SGs ability to hoard recipes and make them make a decision on what they think is more important to store. -

One good idea would be to change the (now useless) Base Salvage storage into Recipe storage.
Thank you.
[/ QUOTE ]
Salvage racks have already been changed to hold Invention Salvage rather than base salvage, albeit with a lower maximum capacity of only 30 instead of the previous 100.
I'd be all for a recipe bin of some sort for bases as well though.
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually, the previous limit was 999.
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually the bins held 2500. The 999 display was an error that was never fixed. -

One quick question.
Do you guys understand that you can't change storage bin permissions while in base edit mode right?
[/ QUOTE ]
You might need to widen the item window to see the Permissions tab while in base editing mode.
[/ QUOTE ]
I had a problem with setting storage permissions while in base edit mode while they were still on test, and I was advised that I could only set them outside of base edit mode. I never tried to set them while in base edit mode after that. -

And about the possibility of kids playing and the parents have closed their chat window? Honestly, if they parent thinks they can't handle chat, they shouldn't be letting them play the game in the first place. Sorry, this game is rated T. If your kid can't play without interfering with others playing, don't inflict them on us. Or, at the very least, don't just let them go unmonitored and use the game (and us players) as a babysitter.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, I have to agree with this as well. If the kid is too young to handle a T-rated game by themselves then the parent has no one to blame but themselves if junior gets upset or learns new words. -
[ QUOTE ]
Don't forget, there ARE kids in the game (pre-teen, some very young.) Generally I'll do this:
First time - tell them "Thanks, I don't need the help though/not teaming right now" or some variant of that.
If they keep following me, right click, grab their info. If it's a kid playing, the parent may have their chat box minimized among other things - and will often have "This is being played by a 5 year old, they can't see chat" or some such in it. In which case, sigh, go to Wentworths or your SG base (since even wanting to help them... they won't see it) and kill a couple of minutes while they get bored.
If it's not a kid - often giving some lame response back (some I've gotten were "lol ur takin too long" when it takes a lower level three hits to kill a mob, or "you were in trouble" when I'm at full health and 3/4 END) I'll tell them again, I don't need the help and am not interested in teaming. If they continue to follow me through two or three more spawns doing the same thing, stop, /petition for harassment, drop them on global ignore and hit the SG base. With the timestamp on the petition, the GMs can see in the chat log that I've specifically said I didn't want or need help and they continued to "assist." Don't bother telling this type they're /petitioned, just get out of their sight and let them get bored.
Most of the time I've had it happen, it's either an accident/simul-attack from a corner, or a kid. Also, yeah, don't forget that anything that doesn't do damage (a Rad/ debuff, ice slick, earthquake, tar patch, taunt) doesn't affect your XP at all.

I think a broom stick power would be awesome for female characters! The devs could pair it up with a dust pan power. After all street sweeping is womens work.
When the finish sweeping the streets they can hurry home to do our laundry and cook us a steak dinner. And if they ask nicely we'll take them to Icon so they can buy a pair of shoes.
