    Danger Room

It would make more sense to give us a Mission Architect Terminal. That way we could create custom "training" missions.

In his world no one had a right to any opinion that didn't agree with him.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Tsk tsk tsk. It's one thing to *believe* that - I know I do. But trying to actually enforce that on other people is just stupid.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The one thing that was truly comical about him was that the angrier he got, the worse his spelling and grammar became.

One look at a post of gibberish from him and you knew when he was foaming at the mouth and gnawing at the bedposts.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You got me picturing this guy screaming at the monitor saying "The angrier hulk get, the worse his spelling get. AND HULK IS REAL ANGRY!"

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Zek can verify this,

He'd start ranting and then out of nowhere in the middle of one of his tirades he'd spout that everyone disagrees with his ideas because we like bullying people with disabilities.

    He was a total nutter.

    No actually you can't. I'm not claiming that;

    or

it's based around older engines that HAVE been modified to allow for vehicle physics

You are the one claiming to have proprietal information about the game engine and the program coding.

    [ QUOTE ]
    You say it's too hard

    [/ QUOTE ]

No I didn't. I merely provided a more detailed cut and paste from Memphis Bill in which he explains the issues that would need to be addressed concerning vehicles, including a viable alternative.

Furthermore neither you nor the OP have provided any new perspective to a subject that has been discussed by players for the past 5 years and shot down by the devs .

  8. [ QUOTE ]
I don't disagree. It would take ALOT of man-hours to get done, which is why I'm suggesting it be done as a for-pay expansion. It would have a separate dev team, normal content would still be generated on a normal basis. That said, this game engine is nothing new: it's based around older engines that HAVE been modified to allow for vehicle physics, and very well for that matter.

Nobody who understands the workload this would require is advocating vehicles as a free "issue" expansion, but there is merit for the idea of vehicles as a paid expansion.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I don't see your name in red pal, so you really have no idea what the game engine looks like, or any of the coding involved.

I think the forums are being haunted by the spirit of KittyKrusader.

By claiming that the only exploiters you have ever seen are the RMT companies, you give the impression that you are saying you never saw anyone recruiting and looking for the MA expolit farms, or saw anyone bragging how they got to level 50 in 8 hours. No one believes that, and implying that the only people that have taken advantage of exploits are the RMTers is burying your head in the sand.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Actually, no it does not mean I buried my head in the sand. What it actually means is "I" am not about to call players that identified and notified the devs of outta whack xp/inf givers in open beta that were ignored exploiters.

The devs knew about these issues and decided not to fix them until welcome back weekend was over. They have pushed known expoits to live a number of times and to expect/think/hope/desire that people would ignore these once live hit is the best example of one burying their collective heads in the sand that there has ever been.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Where do you get the idea that anyone here is calling the people that reported issues during beta testing exploiters?

That's as pathetic as trying to scare farmers into thinking the devs equate all farming as exploits.

It is not the responsibility of the devs to enforce the rules of the game that job belongs to the GM's. Each and every player agrees to play by the companies rules every time they log into the game. We all know that taking advantage of exploits can get us in trouble with the GM's.

And no it is not too much to expect people to play by the rules of a game. Just because you find a way to cheat doesn't mean that you should. The game has a teen rating. A teen is expected to know right from wrong.

reword what? we just had this discussion with a guy who wanted the fee to be lowered to $10/month because he doesn't know how to budget his money.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That was the guy that told us that each month he spends

    $50 yr/ $4.17 mth - Xbox live
$10 mth - Phantasy Star Universe
    $10 mth - PSU
    $15 mth - WoW
    $150 mth - Alcohol/Restaurants
    $20 mth - Adult entertainment
    $40 mth - Maid service
$60 mth - SF4, Fightpad, Defense Grid, Castle Crashers, SSF2THDR
    $100 mth - Gambling
    $60 mth - Movie Theatres
$25 mth - on credit reports
    $15 mth - CoH
    ------------------------------------------
    $509.17

even tho he only has $900 a month from disability to live off of.

And he has trouble paying his expenses, Who'd have guessed that.

I love giving this company money for this game. I love it so much I have multiple accounts.

So, NO I don't agree with the OP.

As far as I'm concerned if the company were to suddenly offer a lifetime membership it would be a sign that they are not going to develop anything else for the game and they are in fact gearing down and will let it die off.

A lifetime membership at this point is an announcement that the end of the game is near and it's time to start looking for something else to play.

    Edit: Fixed typo.

Find another zone where low level toons are not in danger and has a WW and a trainer and vendors close to the AE building and it is possible farmers would move. Keyword possible.

    [/ QUOTE ]

They have that already that. It's called Galaxy City. And learning to use the train to travel to Went's isn't a bad thing. It will teach these new players that there is more to the game than just Atlas Park.

I was here for I14 open when we told the devs that particular mobs were giving out rewards at a higher rate than normal or that things like vamp chambers and shadow cyst were giving xp and should be adjusted. Yet they went live anyway of course. I think the blame lies with the devs just like prior incidents they were told about yet pushed things to live anyway.

    [/ QUOTE ]

And prior to I14 going live Posi told us exactly what the MA was not intended to be used for.

I should probably take this moment to talk about what the Mission Architect is not meant for. It is not meant for “easy leveling” or “badging” or “farming” . Those are things that we specifically wanted the Mission Architect NOT to do.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Seems pretty clear what type of actions would get us in trouble if we chose to ignore the warning. Oh and claiming ignorance of the rules does not mean they don't apply to you. The information was made available to everyone. The company is not under any obligation to hand deliver it on a silver platter and get a signed reciept that you read and comprehend it. (that's a generic you being used here, not you personally Darth.)

    [ QUOTE ]
Currently, most people are playing story farms and there is nothing wrong with that.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That's up to the GM's to decide, not us.
  17. [ QUOTE ]
As for implementation, some more specifics.

Vehicles would be available to all players who have purchased the expansion at any level. However, vehicles would begin their lives as fairly slow, fragile, and unable to deal any damage to enemies. End-Level vehiciles would be fast, tough, and loaded with weapons. The game has several options to allow for this progression:

    1. Require salvage, recipes, and inf to craft upgrades and add-ons. This would lead to twinking and farming of course, but would link this feature into the game's economy and help to create post level-50 goals.

    2. Take up Power Picks Somehow: Force the player to chose vehicle "licenses" from a power pool and have new ATs with vehicles as primary or secondary powersets, though this limits new players from being able to use them "out of the box" with exisitng characters sans a respec. This could help to balance them though, but would also FORCE them to be balanced in line with other powers, lest they become a "wasted" power pick. In my mind, this would limit their use too severely.

    3. New Progression System for Vehicles: As you progress you earn some "vehicle bucks" for your vehicle. You can spend these on new weapons, armor, speed, or entire new vehicles.

Also keep in mind, vehicles are not just cars, motorcycles, and hovercraft. They are also horses, unicorns, dragons.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Standard Code Rant applies.
  18. [ QUOTE ]
The only exploiters that I have seen here in three years are RMT'ers. They need to finish banning them because my toons' mailboxes are under a constant spam attack. Those people hurt the game more than any normal player paying their 15 quid a month IMHO.

    [/ QUOTE ]

It doesn't really matter what you claim to have no knowledge of, nor is anyone forcing you to participate in the petition process. If you want to bury your head in the sand like an ostrich and pretend the MA fiasco never happened that's fine by us.
  19. [ QUOTE ]
The Devs aren't saying what qualifies as an exploit. No one here can tell you either.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Posi has a very good reason for not giving us an absolute definition of what qualifies as an exploit.

    [ QUOTE ]
    Q) “Are you going to give us an absolute definition of what abuse is?”

    A) I know a lot of you want to know an exact definition to see if you were actually abusing the system, or just playing the game, but I don’t want to be set up in a situation where our definition of abuse is abused. For example, if we say that the definition is “you gained 4 levels in under 30 minutes”, then someone will make sure that they gain 4 levels in 31 minutes, so they can claim they were within the allowed limits and not abusing. Someone said it best that the “definition” of reckless driving is purposely ambiguous, being “Disregard for safety”. With this example, I would say that a good interpretation of abuse is “Disregard for the risk and/or time to reward ratio”.

    [/ QUOTE ]

We all know the exploiters would jump on that excuse.
  20. [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]
Why is the first instinct of so many on this forum to go running to mommy?

    [/ QUOTE ]
And once again, the person reporting a problem becomes the problem and is "running to mommy". I guess you're unable to comprehend that serious exploiting and unacceptable behavior hurt the entire community and there are people who are (gasp) actually willing to make an effort to help the game and the community as a whole.

    [/ QUOTE ]

There's something else that they tend to overlook. We have been told that the GM's can flag an MA mission/arc as unbannable if they determine nothing is wrong with it, and that flag remains on the arc until the next time the player edits it.

The GM's aren't going to wait for an arc banned by mistake to use that flag. They are going to minimize unnecessary work by putting the flag on any arc that they review and determine to be fine. That way it will cut down on griefing and they can focus on arcs they haven't already reviewed.

    Atlas?

What are you basing your opinion on? I can't find any indication that Atlas wasn't that massive.

    So there. Neener neener neener.
  23. [ QUOTE ]
You know honestly I'm with the argument against farming, and that this point I wish they'd just remove the AE completely rather than let the game continue as it is, but...

when you're getting out of shape over messages in broadcast, you're the one who has the problem. Broadcast has always been full of dumb junk; if you don't like it, turn broadcast off, or start liberally using your ignore button.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Not all, but many of the people complaining about the AE farm requests in Atlas broadcast are just mad because they are the same people that used to tell the people complaining about the farm spam in PI they should turn off broadcast or use their ignore feature.

    Karma, gotta love it.
  24. Safes are a good item that can be used to stack. Then theres the white floor tile right next to the safe. Put that on top of the safe(s) and then you can put anything you want on the floor tile.

The floor tile is the same size as a floor square, so 4 floor tiles will cover a 4x4 room. Stacking to raise floors in a 2x2 room gets tricky.
