Dumple is right. This guy didn't even give the game 12 hours. Good riddance as far as I'm concerned.

Before leaving please delete your characters so the people that actually enjoy the game can use the names.
Oh and have fun back at WoW. -

Sure but I hope you like Orville Redenbacher's. It's the only brand popcorn I buy. -

There is a farm I pass on the way home from work that has the world's best sweet corn every August. I don't what they use to grow it, or what variety of corn it is, but I could eat a dozen ears at one sitting. And still have room for their corn.
[/ QUOTE ]
There's this town nearby that has a farmers market at the end of summer in the town square. One year I was working at a supermarket during the night shift, I was getting off at 7 am. I noticed one guy kept coming in around 5-6 am each morning buying lots of vegetable in bulk during the event. Sure enough I found the guy reselling the "fresh" produce from the supermarket as being grown on his farm and at almost twice the price. I called a local news station and one of their reporter's checked and then confronted him on TV. Funny as hell watching him get caught and we found out he didn't even own a farm. ROFL! -
Even if there was a way to issue challenges, people would abuse it by following a person/SG around and repeatedly challenging them in order to disrupt their gameplay.
A lot of thought as to how to implement it without disrupting the game for non participants is needed. -
[ QUOTE ]
(Would like to see an SG terminal, though.)
[/ QUOTE ]
Only problem with an SG terminal is only the people in the SG can use it to form teams.
Now this would be great if you want t o use it as a Danger Room, however you couldn't use it to form teams with people in other zones. -
[ QUOTE ]
I think it would be great to add some tourist attractions to the game. Think Mount Rushmore but with Famous Heroes faces.
[/ QUOTE ]
These things are already in the game.

Years ago, I player Everquest and the introduced a casino that actually let you bid ingame money. Don't know if it's still there or not, but the same could be done here.
I always wanted a casino in my base for example.

/no to gambling mini-games.

The amusement park would make a good map too. I know there's a carneval with tents, but I'm talking ferris wheel and all.
[/ QUOTE ]
Sure why not. Just be aware the rides won't work. They'll just be backgrounds we can't interect with.

A Zoo.
[/ QUOTE ]
Already exists. We call it the Atlas Park AE .
[ QUOTE ]
An outdoor theater that shows the game videos.
[/ QUOTE ]
We have one in Perez Park, It doesn't show videos tho. -
As long as my SG's can refuse to participate I could care less.

I'm aware you can purchase slots, I was suggesting that if there were to be a fee involved for moving a claimed slot, it would be a very small one, perhaps $1.99 or $2.99.
[/ QUOTE ]
And if they had originally decided to only charge$1.99 - $2.99 we'd still see people whining that that was too high.
No matter what the price someone will want to pay less. -

I know it won't happen, farmer.
[/ QUOTE ]
OMG someone called me the F word. How can I go on living? Guess I'll go farm some more and sell everything that drops at 1 inf to help the market keep prices low and not costantly broacast that I am LFM because I am too busy making money. Oh wait, I am already doing that.
Not all farmers are bad. The ignorant love to put everyone that farms into one category.

I know the farmers aren't the ones making me avoid/hate MA...

Removing the AE buildings from GC, AP, and KR, would essentially make it so you couldn't start leveling in the AE until roughly level 12 or so, at least not safely. That would detract from the devs idea of "The AE is an alternate leveling path from 1 to 50".
[/ QUOTE ]
This is the best you can do? It appears that in your haste to make a kneejerk response you forgot that the OP didn't suggest removing the AE from Galaxy or Kings Row.
[ QUOTE ]
4. There is an AE building in Galaxy City already and its not being used because the zone is usually a ghost town in the popularity department. If the AE in Atlas Park is removed see if there are enough people out there who feel the way I dothe ability for level one characters to go all the way to level 50 using just the AE system is still doable. If the farming community goes to galaxy City instead of Atlas Park all the more power to them.
[/ QUOTE ]
That crashing sound was your argument collapsing in on itself.
[ QUOTE ]
removing it would do NOTHING but move the whole shebang to another zone.
[/ QUOTE ]
Which is exactly the point of the suggestion. Galaxy is a seldom used zone. Using the AE there will have the benefit of bringing life to a seldom used zone, and decrease the overpopulation in a highly used zone.
[ QUOTE ]
If we DO remove the building from atlas, within a week, all the farming activity will have moved somewhere else (probably talos). . . Eventually, there'd be no AE buildings left if the devs listened to every crackpot thread wanting a building removed from someone's favorite zone.
[/ QUOTE ]
Why would low level characters go all the way to Talos to use the AE when they can simply use the one in Galaxy? If anyone is using crackpot logic it's you. -

Keep me out of it. I was trying to be constructive, and give some support to some poor kid that just wanted to talk about an idea for a computer game that was getting all ganged up on.
[/ QUOTE ]
You at least tried to be constructive Dementor. Prince is just trolling. He doesn't care what has been discussed already, he's just posting here to start arguments.

I haven't read the whole thread

I really don't have time to keep going through alot of different threads for little tidbits of information.

Classic examples of a person just trying to irritate people.
[ QUOTE ]
Would it kill you to be positive for once?
[/ QUOTE ]
There are plenty of threads I've agreed with. Most of them don't require more than a /signed. It's the ones with the negative feedback that the devs insist on more than a one word response.

The devs and mods insist that if we disagree with something we are supposed to give an explanation why.
[ QUOTE ]
If you had just ignored this thread, or posted your objections ONCE it would have died from disinterest; as you've noted, very few people came in with any support.
[/ QUOTE ]
1. Not discussing the flaws in an idea means a flawed suggestion might get into the game and screw up everyones enjoyment of the game.
2. If people withhold their honest opinions about a suggestion just because they disagree then it seems that people support the idea.
3. If the OP didn't want honest criticism then he shouldn't have posted his idea in the first place.
4. People need to learn the difference between disagreement with an idea and personal attacks. Just because people don't like an idea doesn't mean they think the suggester is an idiot. -

1. In before the delete.
2. If the OP thinks I'm going to waste my time in the MA reporting farms he can bite me. I like the regular content and don't use the MA. The people that use the MA can police themselves. -

[ QUOTE ]
So maybe your not listening in the fact that your talking about pleasing everyone I'm talking bout pleasing a decent minority.
[/ QUOTE ]
Your right let the Devs spend all the time and money for the next year to get Vehicles that don't do much so a Decent minority will like it. Put off GR so we can make a decent minority happy while making a good Large group very mad. Ya that sounds like good business to me
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm curious as to why he thinks that he's pleasing a decent minority, much less one of any size.
[/ QUOTE ]
Apparently he thinks 3 people (himself, the OP, and Dementor) make up a sizable portion of the playerbase. It's that new math they are teaching in the public schools. -
Again read the entire thread as well as some of the other vehicle threads that have been made already. What you are suggesting has already been addressed and explained why it isn't feasible.

As for natural characters having travel powers, whats wrong with using the rocket boots or tech wings? I don't see any difference between fly with rocket boots or using the temp jet/jump pack.
[/ QUOTE ]
Uhm . . . because using rocket boots, tech wings, and temp jet/jump packs aren't natural. Those are tech/science devices.
Natural means (to me) that the travel power is something everyone in your species has. It isn't a mutation that only a few sentients have. It isn't something that was built in a lab or a factory. It isn't bestowed upon you from a spell or arcane item of power.
Supermans Travel powers are Natural
Batmans are Science/Tech
Nightcrawlers are Mutation
Dr. Stranges are Magical. -

What this game needs . . .
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm disappointed in you Bionic. I expected you to at least keep it in the super hero genre.
This town needs . . . -
[ QUOTE ]
Ok I'm kinda confused as I haven't read the whole thread but instead of worrying about power animations why not make it where you use it and you get hit you get knocked off the mode of transportation, either it falls over (more complicated version) or simply dissappears.
Have the mode of transportation a self contained entity when your in it you can't use powers or emotes and such. Make it on par with super speed where theres only horizontal movement or just forway movement as I see it most of the streets are horizontal regardless.
Hence it would be almost identical to super speed perhaps add some powers to have some kind of defense. Possibly using a exhaust trail power for motorcycles/cars that would add a disorient, or confuse and stealth bonus to the player. You can give jets/planes/etc a gale like power that knocks enemies back if wanted.
There is other creative powers you can give it but basically as superspeed is considered kind of a broken travel power leave this one the same way. Like super speed it has limitations in the real world its ok to reflect that in game.
Storyline wise there is no reason for a natural hero/villain to have a travel power currently but if we didn't we'd never get teams. So I don't see the problem with making planes/jets a variant of fly and cars/motorcycles a variant of superspeed. Each would come with different powers and would be programmed akin to their currently used variants.
[/ QUOTE ]
1.) Try reading the entire thread and maybe you won't be confused.
2.) Superspeed isn't broken. The real problem is that some players aren't able to adapt to the subtle nuances that make Superspeed effective. Like paying attention to where you are going, or taking the time to explore a zone so you know your way around it. -

Actually Aett, that would only be the live action. Anime seems to get right more often than not.
[/ QUOTE ]
And if it's anime there has to be one guy that looks like Bluto from the old Popeye cartoons. -

Hahaha. I just thought it'd be interesting if heroes were suddenly refusing to register their powers, regardless of medi-port capabilities.
[/ QUOTE ]
What exactly does a hero lose if he isn't registered.
He can't gain experience.
He can't earn influence.
He can't earn prestige.
He can't get any contacts.
He can't get any missions/TF's with no contacts.
He can't level at any trainers.
He can't enter any security zones.
He can't use the hospital facilities.
Playing a permanent level one character sure sounds like a lot of fun. -
[ QUOTE ]
/unsigned. I quite like having it close by with easy access for whatever new character I create. Since I've taken to leveling new characters mostly on MA, it's quite convenient.
I'd rather not have to wander around more than I have to in the pre-travel power levels.
[/ QUOTE ]
God forbid new players learn to use the train and discover that there are more zones than just Atlas Park.
Since I14 I've been running across more and more players with high level characters that didn't know they could leave Atlas.
