Personally I'd prefer it if they would just remove the cap altogether and allow us to buy as many as we'd like.

Sorry but you did not remove it before anyone tried to counter it. If you had then neither Nethergoat nor myself would have been able to quote it. Only the Moderators and the other rednames can go into the system and pull up edited posts.

What actually happened is that we both quoted your response before you went in to delete it (which took you maybe 30 seconds to delete), and we finished composing and posting our responses after you finished. My own response took longer than Goats because it involved getting information off of Paragonwiki and taking an ingame screenshot of the markets Paragon Points window and adding it to my post. During which time I was also watching Doctor Who on Itunes (I got a huge crush on Karen Gillan) So I was in no rush to finish posting my response.

But nice try trying to paint us as the bad guys.

There's only so much the devs can do. You can't force players to pay attention. The more you try to force some people to do something they don't want to do the more determined they become to ignore/avoid it.

I recall one poster that was ranting about getting burned by the market's old 60 day rule. By his own admission he had everything he stored in the market deleted four different times because he couldn't be bothered to reset the timer by opening the market interface.

Heh, I see your point but when I use a name like that I figure the character's bio is the place to explain where a character got his name. Also if I like a name enough I'll try to find a server where I can use it.
  5. I wasn't expecting them to put the monster fish costume bits from the Halloween pack on sale with the Water Blast power set.

However, if they released a new costume set that was aquatic themed I'd expect them to put them on sale just like they did with Think Tank and the retro Sci-Fi costume set.

An aquatic costume set could have things like a scuba tank, old fashioned divers helmet, scuba flippers, various fishy heads, fin options for arms, legs, and back, gills for the neck, maybe that dangly thing that glows on the head of the Angler Fish. Crocodile head and animated tail.

All required unlocks are spelled out on a locked character, regardless of how many locks are on the character.

I sincerely wish people would stop regurgitating this misinformation that somehow got out there.
It's easier for people to blame the company than accept responsibility for their own impatience.

This isn't the first time people have gotten burned because they couldn't be bothered to read the pop up windows.

And sure some people could have done the research you did to confirm whether or not the game provides sufficient warnings before blaming the devs, but assuming the worst is much easier.

You mean how some long term players are "entitled" to it because of the large sum of money they spent on the game to get that "entitlement"?

Guess what? Nothing's stopping you or anyone else from spending the same amount of money those particular long term players did and earning the same "entitlement" they have.

Oh but wait, you newer players don't have to spend the same amount of money those Vets did. If anyone got screwed on this deal it's the long term Vets.

The vets you are referring to (the ones with 66+ months) spent $990 dollars on the game to get permanent access to IO's. That's 27 Paragon Rewards

The most a new player has to spend is $345 dollars in Paragon Points to be given 27 Paragon Rewards. We get 1 Paragon Reward for every 1200 Paragon Points we purchase, and when we buy in bulk we get bonus points.

$100 dollars gets you 8 Paragon rewards, so $300 gets you 24 tokens, and another $45 gets you three more tokens with points left over to go towards your next token.

And a returning player who already has earned Paragon Rewards from his previous sub will still pay less to unlock IO access than a 66+ month vet did because it's cheaper to get Paragon Rewards by buying them in bulk than it is subbing, and you get the rewards immediately instead of waiting months/years.

So basically you are complaining that the devs are charging you less money to unlock IO access than they charged their 66+ month vets.

Yeah there's not a hint of you having entitlement issues in your argument.

    Personal Lairs

The devs haven't been putting resources into bases because

    a. It's a fragile legacy feature whose creator doesn't work for the company anymore.

    b. And players have shown themselves to be determined (for the past 6-7 years) to use SG's/bases as solo content which is contrary to how the devs intended them to be used as group content.

It might have been 50k at one point but if it was it was before I became aware of the trade feature so I can't do better than guess.

And how are they supposed to know that a given player has no intention of unlocking the AT's after they unlock the characters they want to play? Or what method he intends to use to unlock the AT's?

Maybe the returning player hasn't used his accumulated paragon rewards yet.

A pop up window requiring they confirm that they are aware that the character slot they are unlocking contains an AT that needs an additional unlock to use it would work.

If they click past it without reading it would be their own fault.

Returning players already know what the game is like.

Players that left before I9 will return to characters that play the same as before except for changes made to the powers themselves and not the enhancements slotted. Restricted IO access isn't going to turn them away. It's just something new added while they were gone, and curiosity is far more likely to get them to sub/buy a liscence and try it out than drive them away.

Players that left after I9 already know how their characters play using IO's and can make an informed decision about whether or not they want to spend $2 dollars a month on a liscence or $15 for a sub.

    2. Twilight Justice (part of your concept could be that you kill sparkly vampires), Dusk Vengeance
    3. The Huckster, Double Down, Double Dealin, Broadway Bullet - Broadway is gambling slang for an Ace High Straight, and Bullet is gambling slang for an Ace

Oh if you use any of my suggestions take the inf and convert it to prestige in one of your SG's.

Imagine that.
Wrong again. The remarks I made about people being impulsive is an objective and factual observation about the prices paid in the Wentworth's/Black Market interface. There is no need to ever use the market. The "supply" is unlimited. Everything in the game can be acquired by other means and excercising patience. The ridiculous prices on the market are solely driven by players competitive desires for instant gratification and the simple fact that the ingame "economy" is choking on an overabundence of currency with no effective way of removing it from circulation.

But there's an old saying that goes "The truth hurts" and that's probably why my comment bothered you.

I've been using my free server transfers to make room before I consider deleting. I first check to see where the name is available then move the character there.

I wonder if these people are spending their points every month as soon as they get them, thinking that they'll expire if not spent before the next month.
The mental gymnastics they go thru to justify their entitlement issues is part of what makes their complaints so entertaining.
  21. I could easily be misremembering but I thought the cap was always 2 billion and what was increased over the years was how much players could trade/transfer between characters.

I clearly remember at one point only being able to trade/transfers of 99,999 at a time.

Now when they first put restrictions on trial accounts back in I12 they lowered the inf cap on trials to 50k inf to restrict RMT abuse.

Yeah that always makes me laugh. Someone gets upset because he has to wait two months to get a power set for free. Boo hoo. Life is so unfair. It's not like the devs leak info on new power sets months in advance so VIP's can save up their stipends and get them as soon as they are released. And it's not lke the power sets are put on the beta test server before going live so VIP's can check them out before buying them.

Oh wait the devs do both of those things . . . nevermind.

Then again I have probably deleted close to 80-90 toons in the past 7+ years...most of whom were 50.

If I don't consider it a main toon...I delete it. Sure I can come up with 50 new concepts, but... I am a min/maxer and if I can't get my toon to perform as well as I want - delete.

Looking at my mids files I have approx 125 builds...some never seen the light of day...most were made into toons..and deleted.

So.. sure more slots.... doesn't affect me :P
Once I concieve a concept and make an alt it's very hard for me to delete it if I've leveled it up into the teens.
