So how long do you think this guys character will last before it gets hit with the Mod stick?
I feel a disturbance in the force . . . It's as if a thousand GM's hit the generic button at the same time.

But how the hell has anyone made any Tri-Gun or Inuyasha characters?

This is my second account, my wife took over my original after I got her into the game.....

Dude. You are MARRIED! You should know how things work in a marriage.
What's her's is her's, and what's your's is her's.

Consider this Avani. While we all know that there are a few people that sell their accounts when they leave a game, it's more likely that the majority of accounts the RMT sites are selling are their own accounts that they PL'd toons on.
I just did a google search and checked a site that claims they sell accounts. Of the 35 they listed only two had earned vet rewards. -
[ QUOTE ]
ill bet a good percentage of the people with long term vet rewards are not even the original account owners... how does that make you feel now :0
[/ QUOTE ]
It makes me feel that you have no idea what you're talking about.
Come August I'll have kept my account active for 60 months. -
[ QUOTE ]
Considering the devs were trying to find out a way to make it account based, I think it's far more likely than AT respecs. But still not terribly likely, since instead of making it account based, they just increased the member cap (cos they couldn't figure out how to do it without a ground-up rework (kind of like power customization (so don't say it's not going to happen))).
[/ QUOTE ]
We can point to several things in this game that people have said would never happen. That's why I chose to describe it as "likely". That still leaves the possibility that it can happen. We waited 5 years for power customization and people have asked for this idea almost as long, so I figure "as likely" is a decent generic description of the odds. -
[ QUOTE ]
Forbin, as a suggestion allowing account-based group access is valid (and often requested).
It doesn't matter if it is possible now, the issue is whether the developer team can actually do it.
The reason the developers gave as to why it wasn't possible is no longer an issue (Cryptic wasn't really allowed to access NCsoft accounts -- this doesn't apply to Paragon Studios). The work with the AE account badges might have been a first step to the possibility that in the future that it will be reality to have account based group access.
[/ QUOTE ]
I didn't say it wasn't a valid request, I said it is as likely to happen as a full AT respec.
Having the ability to have characters join different SG's is a feature of the game, not a restriction.
Oh and please provide a link to where the devs said that the reason we have the freedom to join multiple SG's is because Cryptic wasn't allowed access to NCSoft accounts. -
[ QUOTE ]
It is possible, if they can make a game in the first place ANYTHING is possible, I really dislike when someone says thats not possible, if your a programmer its possible with enough work!
[/ QUOTE ]
So what. AT respecs are also possible, but you have as much chance of seeing them happen as this idea. The game was designed around the idea that your characters are seperate entities from each other NOT extensions of your master account. Very few things are account based. Vet Rewards, A handful of badges, Global Names. SG Membership is not one of them. -

During the course of your duties you run across ANOTHER sergeant. In conversation you discover that he joined the Army 2 months ago, but because he committed himself to 4 years they went ahead and made him a sergeant NOW.

We called them butter bars during my time in the service.....
Damn 2nd lt's getting into trouble all the time.
Also... I think West point cadets are give the same pay as an E-5.... Been awhile since I have heard it talked about though.
And to the OP.... I got no issue with you "buying" into the vet powers.... it is your money.
BC
[/ QUOTE ]
Epic Failure on your part.
A Butter Bar or Second Lieutenant/Ensign is the entry (lowest) rank for most comissioned officers. They are not the equivilant of an Sergeant. If anything the closest enlisted rank equivilant is a Private. In fact one of the nicknames for a 2nd Lt. is "Comissioned Private".
I also find it funny that you mention West Point, because to graduate from West Point and be comissioned as a Second Lieutenant, a person must successfully complete a four year educational program.
The amount of money a cadet is paid is based on how long they have been at West Point.
Plebes receive $175 a month, Yearlings receive $250 allowance monthly, and for cows I believe it is in the neighborhood of $400, while firsties get about $500 to $550.
Any West Pointer can confirm or correct if my numbers are right.
A Sergeant with less than two years in service recieves $1994 each month. 2 years $2127, 3 years $2230, 4 years $2335. -

Um, no, I paid with being here, the only currency that matters. So, no, no one should be able to buy what has otherwise already been earned. I've paid plenty over the years to have gotten my rewards.
Some schmuck coming in with too much money and not enough patience to sit through a game for 5 years? Doesn't deserve my rewards, thanks.

This.
When the company is able to reverse my aging process and return the five years of time I invested in this game, that will be the day I'll agree to letting Vet rewards be purchased in advance. -

Sad? No, but it is immensely funny to hear their screams of anguish when they log on and find the account they bought was banned permanently for violating the EULA. -
This won't solve your problems. You'll just have more alts in the SG. Your current members will invite more of their alts and the new members will want to have as many of their alts in the SG as well.
If you want an SG to earn more prestige, you need to streamline your membership by limiting the number of alts your members can have in the SG at one time. -

its all about learning. If you maximize your info intake and experience, you increase your potential learning. If you omit forums, manuals... you're likely to learn at a different pace
[/ QUOTE ]
Exactly my point. All the mistakes that get made and all the blunders that occur from the players lack of information are a part of the learning process that he has to go thru because he chose to learn by "hands on" experience.
Sure the learning process takes longer but the benefit is that when you make a mistake or learn something new it has more impact and you are more likely to remember it. -

On Fredom blueside, there are IOs selling for over 300,000,000 influence now. Things are spiralling out of control.
[/ QUOTE ]
That would probably be a PvP recipe. They're very new but the price will come down as people are realizing how easy it is to farm them.
By the way, there is no such thing as 'the price on Freedom'. Wentworths and the Black Market are cross server.
[/ QUOTE ]
It's also possible that particular transfer was someone using the market to move inf from one server to another. -

what i would to see more than a recipe storage bin is a link to wentworths from your base... i mean as it stands now... Mine usually are hubs which you can get to other hubs or generally be involved with important things: Talos, Kings Row, Atlas and Peregrine. Because of the placement of tp beacons some are better than others.
Man we're lazy.
[/ QUOTE ]
Hero side I also plan around hubs, then favorite zones. Villain side I just put them in order by level. -
[ QUOTE ]
I know what my project for the week will be. I'm actually losing prestige because I've got 30+ alts in a single SG. If I can make a second SG and throw 15 alts into that one I'll reap the prestige bonuses from the 1st 15 members. Then I can have more TP's to random hazard zones...
Sorry, I think I was thinking out loud just now...
That was also thinking out loud...
And that...
...
[/ QUOTE ]
There's nothing wrong with that logic. You'll get the benefit of the teleporters, while you save up prestige to expand your main base. If it's a villain base you only need two extra SG's to get the 8 beacons for the redside zones. Hero SG's just require deciding which zones are important to you. -
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
Yes, it is. You have to have at least ONE friend in the game who can make a mule character right? Get yourself to level 10, start your SG.
Invite them to it, and switch out your characters, having them boost them into the group and change their rank if needed. Then, they either stay in the sg if you trust em, or leave if you request it - bingo, you have a 1-person SG.
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually I meant the coalition part. But I imagine it also requires a second person.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, a friend or a second account.
I have a villain SG that used to have 8 solo sg's in coalition. Each one except the main was built on 300k from the membership bonus and was designed around different themes that when combined in coalition made a nice large base. I left 1 alt as leader of each base.
When the devs changed the rent, and other base changes after I13 I was able to combine all the ideas of the bases together and reduce the number of bases in coalition to three. I didn't see the need to get rid of the two teleport bases.
I might sell them off or give them away in the future. I haven't decided yet. -
[ QUOTE ]
/signed for this.
As for the other responses - no, I dont want to form a 1 man SG to do this. Tried it once & frankly the rooms are too massive - I'd like a regular apartment sized room(or rooms).
And what if you want your own personal space, and are already in a SG?
[/ QUOTE ]
Being able to have a seperate personal space while being a member of an SG would be nice. -

It's a shame you don't get it.
[/ QUOTE ]
I wasn't being sarcastic ...I really don't understand what he's offering to do.
Is he offering to join an sg and convert 50 mill of his own influence?
You really shouldn't judge others falsely.
[/ QUOTE ]
I didn't make any judgement about you, nor did I say you were being sarcastic. I merely said it's a shame you you don't get what he's posting he'll do. His initial post doesn't seem that complicated to understand.
He said if any one is exchanging inf for prestige, he'll match the amount up to 100 million inf, effectively doubling the amount of prestige they will get, and he's not asking for anything in return.
He'll continue doing it until he runs out of inf or he gets bored, whichever comes first.
I'm assuming he wants to join the SG so he can confirm that the prestige exchange gets made. It would be easy for someone to say they made the exchange and not do it if he wasn't an SG member.
I think it would be a better idea if he joined the SG and made the prestige exchange himself after he verified the first exchange took place tho. -
