Downside is that when I bought my new computer last year I didn't save my binds. I simply reinstalled CoH on the new system. I couldn't remember how to do the binds and gave up on them.

Character concept motivates my selection of travel powers not AT.

I have a Roman/Greek character that gets his SS from his magic winged shoes given to him by Mercury/Hermes.

I have an Ork who's SS comes from the red paint he put on his boots. (Any good Ork will confirm that thing go fasta when painted red)

Another character uses SS in conjunction with Powerslide and "surf's" instead of running.

Much like the tram, they can be on a timer, say 10-30 seconds.
Have the zones cut into 3 areas, Route A, B, & C (as opposed to North, Central & South which would be trouble for zones that run East/West), and have the routes marked on the maps by a dividing line, color shading, or texture change.

Don't forget that when a hero or villain is on the bus they are helpless to defend themselves from an ambush so if an ambush is looking for them they ambush the bus instead causing the bus to explode killing the hero/villain.

I don't think that's a problem, as long as it's obvious the Main character isn't a ripoff of anything.

1. You aren't copying their costumes, the pets costumes were made by the game itself.

2. You can't write a seperate bio for them.

I remember a certain dark defenderr player sending me a tell about reporting me for copyright violation because I made a toon named HALO.

My toon didn't have anything to do with the halo game. My toon's name was Halo, her secret ID was Angela Winger. She was an angelic-themed character. I've never even played the Halo game. I couldn't tell ya the first thing about it...other than I am pretty sure it was a FPS.

So I deleted the toon, but I've NEVER, EVER forgotten that player did that to me, nor have I forgiven them. Forever, in my book, they are jerks. That character was originally a champions character I made back in 1989, way before the Halo game came out.

I might re-make the toon some day...but, heck, it wasn't all that great a champions character to begin with.

But as a rule, I NEVER, EVER report ANYONE for potential copyright infringement. Why? Because it doesn't give me xp or insp or IOs or influence. I have better things to do in-game than inspecting other players toons. I'm not a rat, I don't rat out people.

So, if you have had a toon generiched...believe me...it was NOT me that turned you in...I'm not a rat!

Seriously, if that person had told the story, and then said that they had reported the Reactor's character for copyright infringement, we would have laughed at them. A lot.

The Reactor's character did not need to be deleted. It was fine. It had no relation to the video game of that name. The GM would have dismissed the complaint.



There's a difference between petitioning actual copyright infringement characters, and characters with a name of something completely different.

No. They aren't stupid.

The decision to make them vet rewards is because they are a perk that won't unbalance the game in any way.

They are sold in booster packs because we told the devs for years we'd be willing to pay for extra costume pieces if they were cool enough.

They are given as trial rewards as a cool way to show that you've done certain content. Not everyone gives a hoot about badges.

Costume recipes are another cool way to make your character stand out in a crowd.
