When this was released I was soooo excited, I can make my own missions, my own SF, my own trials... but now its just gone to waste. If I do make it and publish it I wont be able to find it since everything is a farm or a horrible story that the devs made it top choice?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Shadow if you can't find an arc YOU published, then you have bigger problems than worrying about if the AE gives exp.
  2. I'm eagerly waiting to watch the AE babies reactions when they come out of the AE during the next Halloween event.

Some level 50 AEtards in Atlas whining that the trick or treating is bugged because the doors won't open for them, and they aren't getting any exp from other players spawns.
  3. Nelzy posted this experience in another thread.

    [ QUOTE ]
Boy oh boy do I have a treat for you all ...

I was in PI on my lvl 50 Fire/Kin taking out some Rikti Monkies for the Zoo Keeper badge when I got a random tell asking me "Have any room on team for a lvl 49 blaster?"
I was in a pretty good mood and the tell was actually in english as opposed to that damn "1337 5p34k" junk, so I said "Sure " and invited him.

So he joins the team and I say that I'm in PI hunting monkies for the badge. I tell him to make his way over to PI and take out some with me. He replies with "Okay."

So I'm sitting on the docks waiting for him to zone.
    Five minutes pass.
    Ten minutes pass.

I start to get a tick in my neck and I see he hasn't moved from Atlas, so I decided to ask him if he was coming or not. He replies with, "The mission won't let me in."

    O.o

Thinking it was an error in reading, I tell him that I'm in Peregrine Island, not Atlas Park.

Once again he aknowledges and says he's on his way.

Another 10 minutes passes and he still hasn't budged from Atlas. I assume he's AFK or helping a friend or whatever so I ask him again, "Hey, are you coming?"

He then proceeds to go off at me saying that he can't enter the mission and that he'd been trying the entire time. I explain once again that I was in Peregrine Island, not Atlas Park. More of his clueless banter and me trying to explain to him. He doesn't listen so I just tell him good luck and quit team.

    I thought it was over.

    Wrong.

He abused me via tell for the next 20 minutes calling me a noob and many other racial and insulting names.

If thats not a perfect example of someone who isn't willing to learn, then strap a crayon to my head, dress me in drag and call me Rayne's thrustpuppet.

  4. And what happens when the character has more salvage than open slots at the market?

Let's wait on some actual evidence of the new AT(s), huh?

Your right AT's was the wrong term to use. I was referring to Dual Pistols and Demon Summoning and those are Powersets not AT's

    4. Villains will be getting access to 30+ zones when Going Rogue is released.

    [/ QUOTE ]

This statement is patently disingenuous. Villains are not getting access to 30+ zones with Going Rogue. Reformed villains are.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    WRONG.

If Tyrant's Paragon City is as large as our Paragon then that's 30+ zones right there. Furthermore there has been no indication the crossovers are going to be one way. So unless the devs come out and say we can only become redeemed/fallen once per character that means Villains will have access to another 30+ zones. So no matter how you do the math villains will have access to 30+ zones they never had before.

Implying that villains won't be able to "reform" then "fall" again from grace is patently disingenuous, just as claiming heros won't "fall" then "redeem" themselves.

I very rarely have worse then minor stuttering when loading at even the most crowded black market / wentworths. If you're having difficulty, you may want to consider upgrading your RAM (2 GB is great), turning down your particle effects in the options menu, or otherwise adjusting your graphical options so that they don't put such a huge strain on your system.

While it would be nice to see an improvement in the BM's efficiency, they're hardly the crash-inducing nightmare you seem to imply.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    /this.

And also, pick the less frequented BM/WW. I tend to prefer Sharkshead villainside and Kings Row heroside, in many cases, though Talos is more popular (and convenient) higher up blueside.

The initial load the first time you go to the BM is the only slowdown I see. (Not saying you *don't,* since obviously if you didn't you wouldn't have posted but there are other ways.)

Of course, others have suggested, say, being able to earn/craft/buy a Wentworths or Black market terminal for the SG base as well, which I wouldn't argue with. (As for the RP-esque "How do you ship goods you're buying?" argument... we teleport *ourselves* around, why would we not teleport goods?)

What new zones have they added? I count 1 - Cimerora.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Depends on your viewpoint and/or when you joined the game? I've been around since about a month after initial release in '04. Working backwards just off the top of my head, I can think of: Cimerora, Ouroboros, The Ski Shalet, Pocket D, Bloody Bay/Siren's Call/Warburg/RV, Croatoa, Striga, Hollows, Shadow Shard, RCS (now called the RWZ), Peregrine Island (even though it was a long time ago, PI didn't exist at launch).

    [/ QUOTE ]

Don't forget Mercy, Port Oakes, Cap, Sharkhead, Nerva, St. Martial, Grandville, The Abyss, and the Troll Tunnels under the Hollows.
  8. [ QUOTE ]
What new zones have they added? I count 1 - Cimerora. And yeah, it's cool, but it's relatively devoid of content compared to most city zones, and it's higher-level content to boot. There's really no point in making new high-level content if your players start quitting because they're bored with the low-level content they have to slog through to get to the new stuff.

Hell, even if they do want to stick to exclusively new content, at least spread it out across different level ranges. Give villains a different zone to start in, a la Galaxy City. Give villains a hazard zone or two. Something.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Please try to pay attention. It will help if you take off your DOOM! colored glasses.

    1. Positron was talking about future releases.

    2. The only reason people are quitting out of boredom is because they are AE babies, and have never left AE buildings.

    3. We have I16 just around the corner with long demanded features, and Going Rogue is another coming attraction that will be introducing new zones, new content, new AT's.

    4. Villains will be getting access to 30+ zones when Going Rogue is released.
  9. The question of revamping zones came up during a Q&A with Positron during the anniversary event.

    [ QUOTE ]
    * On new content:
04-28-2009 18:06:36 [Local] Golden Girl1: Positron, are there any plans to give older zones a Faultline-style makeover, like Boomtown, for example, or would you rather add new zones to the game first?
04-28-2009 18:06:53 [Local] Positron: Right now, we'd rather add zones
04-28-2009 18:07:04 [Local] Positron: since a revamp takes almost as much time.

04-28-2009 18:31:29 [Local] Positron: So we've done two "revamps" to zones so far.
04-28-2009 18:31:41 [Local] Positron: So we have a good metric on how much time it takes
04-28-2009 18:31:54 [Local] Positron: And for a smidge more time, we can make a brand new zone.
04-28-2009 18:33:18 [Local] Positron: But we can make COOL zones

It's the attitudes, for example calling them "AE babies", "braindead children" etc., that I feel works against what you hope for. Some already have a negative feeling toward anyone who has participated in AE, right or wrong.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I really do try not to be mean, condescending to the newer players who have yet to venture out of the architet and experience "the game the way it was meant to be." As for refering to them as "AE babies", this thread is really meant (IMHO) for veteran players to comment on the wave of newer players that have been brought to the game by the architect, and you vets know what I mean when I refer to an AE baby. It's not meant as an insult (well, a very small one at most), but a description of the playstyle that the architect (for good or bad depending on your point of view) has brought to the game.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    And I totally understand.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Also many times the way people vent here is not how they act in the game. Most players don't use the forums, so this is where those that do relax and blow off steam.

Look up the Rude Tells thread sometime.

At least he's on their radar now. It's very possible that it was his first offence, and whatever GM reviewed the petition gave him a warning or even a temp ban and flagged his account for repeat offences. Guys like that either learn to shut up or self destruct and get banned. I'm thinking he'll self destruct.

Please tell me you petitioned his butt. We don't need pathetic losers that throw around racial slurs or any other insults in this game. Jerks like that deserve an introduction to the Ban stick.
  14. [ QUOTE ]
    Very unlikely to happen:

A few years back, online gambling sites tried to dodge US regulations by making games that were "token based" and not tied to real cash. They then set up separate dummy companies that did essentially "Unsanctioned" RMT for those companies. That way the gambling site could claim "we're innocent point based fun!" while the other company says "we just sell stuff, we don't provide a gambling service!"

The laws were changed to close that nice little loophole.

Now, the way the law reads, if CoH or any other MMO provided any traditional "gambling" game, their entire game would likely fall under gambling regulation... or at least someone would TRY to apply gambling laws to it & NCSoft would have to spend millions of your subscription dollars fighting the concept in US courts and hoping for a common-sense judge. Not money well spent, IMO.

Several players use the market to do their RAK's these days.

The influence beggars pretty much killed off players randomly giving stuff out to people. The market lets the players indulge their generosity while at the same time maintaining their anonymity.

You can give away hundreds of millions and never have some greedy little jackhole follow you around pestering you with tells demanding more free stuff.

After all, why should the alts on my fifth account not get the perks that the alts on my main account get simply because that particular account, which is still mine, was created one year later?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Simply because there is no way you can prove that YOU are the person using that account. For all the company knows you might be paying for accounts for:

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yet I am paying for the accounts under the same main account with NCSoft, shouldn't really matter WHO is playing so long as I am paying. By your logic if I give someone a time card that I bought as a CC reward they should get no vet time accumulation because they aren't paying for that term of play. But vet rewards aren't tied to user, they are tied to tenure.

Here's the distinction, as I see it:

They are all under the same master account.

If this was/is a situation wherein there are multiple master accounts tied to one person I would say no, do not merge them for the sheer sake of security.

But in my case, and the same is true in many others, there are multiple accounts tied together under the same main account. This is the prime variable in my eyes and I really see no reason why a distinction should be made under these circumstances.

If you had a main account named Forbin, and your alt accounts (for the sake of simplicity) are Forbin2, Forbin3, and Forbin4 there really isn't a reason NOT to grant them all the max vet perks. Sure, Forbin5 just got created yesterday, but so long as they are all under the Forbin umbrella, an umbrella which has been open since beta, I think it's just good karma to grant Forbin5 the same vet rewards.

    *shrug*

    [/ QUOTE ]

The only thing that matters is the length of time an account has been kept active. It's simple and impartial. Everyone gets treated the same regardless of the number of accounts they are paying for. That's good karma.

Oh sure... if you turn off XP, and keep the character at the same low level forever and ever for whatever demented reason you got kicks off of, he'll be the richest lowbie ever. But I'd rather keep my characters progressing.

And farming is not working for your Inf.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Whine and cry all you want about the different methods the devs have given us to make money. It still doesn't change the fact that any lowbie character can easily earn 5 million inf in a couple of hours. I suppose next you'll even try to claim that choosing to run missions against NPC's that drop the most expensive salvage is somehow demented.
