The reasons why the devs aren't doing anything have already been explained several times in previous posts in this thread. You are free to dismiss them if you like but it doesn't change the fact that those reasons are why we haven't seen any major changes in 6-7 years. And personal lairs fall under the category of a major change.

The devs are the only ones with the datamining tools to determine if adding this feature would be worth the time and resources to develop and show a profit.

    Personal Lairs

Since the devs have flat out made it clear they disaprove of players using SG's as personal stables for their characters and they refuse to make it any easier for players to invite their own characters into solo SG's, they sure won't let players abuse lairs the same way.

A personal lair is for an individual character not for all characters on a server/account. If this was added to the game the devs would likely follow the same design used in other MMO's and only allow teammates to be temporarily invited to enter a characters personal lair.

    Hint: None.

Or at least, none you'll find on a shelf.
Wrong. There are two that I know of.

City of Heroes - Baby New Year mission.

Cryptics space game - Klingon Mission to kill Tribbles. As everyone knows Tribbles ae born pregnant so not only is the player killing babies he is killing unborn babies as well.

So that's two games off the shelf with babies, and one where the babies get killed.

No one but you seems to be taking the OP seriously. You might want to get that sense of humor checked.

    Edit: fixed typos

Me to brudder. Would you believe I have a few 8 year old charactes that still haven't used all the respecs from the T.V. trials or their vetspecs yet.

But there are people out there that go thru respecs like it's crack cocaine

Fine. If a one time expense of $80 bucks for 4 trays is too expensive for you, I'm sure NCSoft will have no problem taking the $110 bucks per character per build it will cost you to completely strip each level 50 character of it's enhancements.

Cuz that's who these trays are targeted for. The players who compulsively respec characters for whatever reason, (A Power has been changed, or a new power set's been released, deleting a character) and they absolutely have to strip off all the enhancements.

Don't worry if that guy was a real copycat he

    1. Wouldn't have been speeding.

    2. He wouldn't have been driving with his hazard lights on.

    3. He wouldn't he have pulled over for the cops.

    4. He wouldn't have volunteered the information that he was concealing weapons and "intended" to use them.

Despite the stockpile of weapons and ammo, this guy wanted to be caught and went out of his way to do it.

It's alway possible that the person currently posting on the OP's account is a child who is being allowed to use the account or maybe a pet monkey. I like longshots so my money is on the monkey.
  9. What about mom's? Why not make a pregnancy themed power set? Mom's could fight crime with their baby cannon.

Tier 1 - Baby Cannon - Mom does a backflip and out shoots junior wielding a mace to hit the target over the head then snaps back like a rubberband to reload.

Tier 2 - That's Gotta Hurt - Junior pops out throwing shurikens

Tier 3 - It's Triplets - Three babies pop out wielding flame throwers in a cone attack

Tier 4 - Labor Pains - Mom lets out a bellow AoE that stuns all her opponents

Tier 5 - Breathe! - Mom's breathing lets her temporarily boost her endurance

Tier 6 - Push! - This power builds up a boost to damage

Tier 7 - I Want Morphine! - AoE Opponents affected flee in terror as mom demands a pain killer and explains how she intends to pull everyones bottom lip up over their heads so they can "share" what she's feeling.

Tier 8 - Sympathetic Labor Pains - AoE Affected opponents clutch their stomachs as they experience gut wrenching Labor Pains

Tier 9 - Summon Babies - Three Babies are "born" (pets) One wields a mace, another Shurikens, the Third a Flamethrower.

Is there a place (forums, CoH-wiki, or whatever) that explains the whole ins and outs of the account types and what all the differences are?
If you feel you need IO's to enjoy the game you can buy a monthly license for $2 bucks (160 Paragon Points), or if you have acquired 27 Paragon Rewards the license is unlocked permanently.

Edit: If you choose to get the license, remember buying Paragon Points in bulk not only gets you the Paragon Rewards needed to unlock the license faster, but you get bonus points with each bulk purchase and the bonus points count towards more Paragon Rewards. Every 1200 points gets you another reward token. Buying points $5 bucks at a time doesn't get any bonus points and is one of the slowest ways to advance up the reward ladder.

Yeah, but the epic failure goes beyond the BBC's storage of the episodes.

    (From Wikipedia)

The actors' union Equity had actively fought against the introduction of TV recording since it originally became a practical proposition in the 1950s.

Prior to the development of workable television recording, if a broadcaster wished to repeat a programme (usually a one-off play), the actors would be re-hired for an additional fee to perform it again live.

Equity's concern was that if broadcasters were able to record the original performances, they would be able to repeat them indefinitely, which would cut down on the levels of new production and threaten the livelihoods of its members.

Although Equity could not prevent recording altogether, it was able to add standard clauses to its members' contracts that stipulated that recordings could only be repeated a set number of times within a specific timeframe, and the fees payable for further use beyond that were deliberately so high that broadcasters would consider it unjustifiable to spend so much money repeating an old programme rather than making a new one.

Consequently, recordings whose repeat rights had expired were considered to be of no further economic use to the broadcasters.

Ah the middle of the three. Okay. For some reason I've been thinking the "Account" tab is the one on the end. Thanks for clearing that up for me. It doesn't help that I keep my in-game window scale set to 75% to reduce screen clutter and I can't read the names of the tabs.

Agge did you mean to say "Anything in the Account tab can be claimed once by "any" character on your account? I only mention it because a fast read brought me up short and I went back to read it more slowly.

Yeah. When I read one article where a witness described a little girl who was shot ... Getting pissed off again ... Sorry I kinda feel bad that I don't feel the same way about all victims but when I see/hear about women and girls getting hurt I see red.

More outfits mean there more of a reason to have more slots. I got 11 severs full, which is 132 guys, I have a little more then that. I think there is 5 EU severs for us to use now, so we have enough slots to me =D
Just like to point out that with the hundreds of costume pieces available theres literally thousands of cotume variations so it's literally impossible for anyone to have used them all even if they unlocked all the character costume slots.

Yeah, I am staying for now. It kinda boring, nothing to really do at all.At least all the cool stuff is free if I want to do them. I think they should just remake the game, make it awesome.
I also hope to see them eventually release a new version of the game to continue when this game gets too old.

The first being my very best friend in the world is mentally ill, and I've seen firsthand and come to understand how much an imagined reality is for someone suffering it.

I have to stress here that I'm not condoning or excusing what happened, but simply saying that if this is the case, then that's something for a professional to judge, not us.

Secondly, I'm not an eye for an eye person. My personal belief is that I am not qualified nor of a moral position to determine if someone should live or die based on their crimes. I'm old enough to understand that there is true evil in the world and it should be opposed, but I am not someone who should be allowed to make judgements on another individual.

What I have come to start to question in regards to movies like this and the 'action genre' is something I discussed with a good friend only a couple of hours ago, and that is our desensitised reactions to violence and what we take from it. Of course my friend perceptively said 'just like with the Christians and the lions,' and I took that very salient point on board.

We're not sitting in crowds baying for blood from real people, but an event like this blurs an already thin line between entertainment and reality. I think Mr. Nolan is a very intelligent and thoughtful filmmaker, but it may be that in drawing a portrait of a superhero in the real world, our acceptance of that being in the real world has become that much easier. This isn't a criticism as such, but for me at least it's something that I think I should consider when things are presented to me as entertainment.

I firmly fall into the Golden and Silver Ages of the heroes I prefer, because without that sense of moral purpose and responsibility, without that essential compassion and empathy for another human being, a hero can just as easily be a villain. It's why I embraced the Avengers so wholeheartedly. It's why the heroes I play in this game follow openly in the mold of heroes of decades past.

And if the best thing that comes out of this tragedy is that we're reminded of where those lines should be drawn, then I can't see that as a bad thing.

    S.
While I do respect your opinion on this topic I believe that we as a society have a moral responsibility not to punish the innocent victims of these tragedies by forcing them to not only live with the fear that a cold blooded mass murderer may one day be released or escape, but also while he is imprisoned pay to feed him, clothe him, educate him, provide shelter, and keep him healthy for the rest of his life. Not to mention the amount of money, time, and resources that get wasted on a trial where there's no question of his guilt, and the pain and suffering the innocent victims will have to thru reliving those tragic events.

As to mental illness, I'm all in favor of treatment until it leads to violence. Once innocent people start getting hurt we have to make sure it never happens again, and that takes me back to my opinion about not punishing the victims that I previously stated.

Now having shared our opinions I hope we can at the very least agree to disagree.

Sorry you can't have it both ways. Either SO's are this games version of equipment that has to be replaced as one levels up, or they are the same piece of equipment that has to be "repaired" and "improved" as one levels and the result is the increased bonus.
