    Last Man Standing

I'm coming back here in ten days, and I'm gonna bring about twenty rangers with me. I will tolerate *one* gang, because that is the nature of things. A certain amount of corruption is inevitable. But if I find *two* gangs here when I get back, then in a couple of hours there will be *no* gangs here. So it's simple. One gang quits and goes home. You boys work it out. I don't give a damn which one.
  3. What we expect and what we get are frequently two different things. Personally I'll be pleased to get something new this week or next, but I must admit I'll be a little torn if something new is added on the 28th.

I'll probably end up splitting my time between both shinies if that happens.
  4. What do you guys think are the odds we'll get something before NCSoft launches their new game on Aug 28th? That's a Tuesday BTW.

If we get something "new" today the question is moot, but if not . . . Will the devs try competing by with that launch by giving us some long anticipated goodies?

Just some idle speculation while waiting to see what we get today.

No that isn't what he's saying at all. He's basing his opinion on your previous post history where you have repeatedly displayed entitlement issues and ridiculous arguments, and judging from the responses he can see from people agreeing and disagreeing with your current post that this is another example of why he put you on ignore in the first place.

After all one doesn't need to stand in the rain to know you'll get wet.

Personally while I think the tone of your post could have been worded better, I don't disagree with everything you've said you'd like.
  6. Doing it that way lets players assign them to different characters since once claimed Reward Merits are not tradeable.

Although if the devs were to offer an account wide mobile storage unit I would buy it.
Well the devs don't have to tamper with the base code. They could always modify the Vault which is storage outside of bases. What bases have is merely an access point to the Vault, it's not an actual storage bin.

Yes there are people like that in every game/forum.

Pvper have to have some purple and expensive set so main customers for these are pvper in my opinion BUT i can tell you after playing many years my toons that now are fully IO +5 i will not unequip them again (because i did already for some new alt) to equip another, we pay for the boosters (and we loose them if we respec) and when they change a pool power we should be able to change or not that pool selection.

I decided to spend no more money in PP until they ll finally give a POOL respec for every toons that have major changes over years in their powers. That should be in game since E13 that would may be avoid less people to leave in that time.

Moreover they gave us some purple ATO modifier drops that can drop instead of purple IO so i am sorry but as far as a toon can have only 6SATO we SHOULD BE ABLE TO TRADE EXTRA ATO MODIFIER INTO ANY PURPLE IO TO SOME CONTACT !!!

They might want to do business but THEY HAVE TO DO IT FAIR !

Thanks to read and be aware that some good spenders/customers are starting to be really fed up !
I know you won't like hearing the truth but, the devs have been fair.

They've given everyone free respecs each time they've changed a power so players can fix their builds. Everyone, not just the people with characters that were affected by the changes.

Furthermore they've added extra enhancement trays that once purchased allow players to pull 50 enhancements off of a build during a respec, and Enhancement Unslotters that let us pull individual enhancements off of builds without even burning a respec.
  11. Also with inherent fitness if you used all four powers before that frees up 4 slots you can use elsewhere because each power comes with 1 free inherent slot.

    Thanks in advance.
Fitness is inherent now so you get all four powers for free. You'll be able to add slots once you get to the part of the respec where you add slots.
  13. That reminds me of the one Republic mission where you are asked to retrieve supplies from a crashed ship only to learn that the supplies are in fact addictive narcotics and the Republic representative is getting refugees in outlying villages hooked to prevent them from joining Seperatist insurgents.

I'll go purchase the extra Enhancement bars so I can use those when I do my respec and save on unslotters for the MM I plan on keeping.

One more question though... and I may be totally in left field on this but I could have sworn that we could dual spec and swap them out. I thought one of my characters had 2 builds and I could swap between them. Am I thinking correctly on this and if so how do I access it again? At the Respec guy?

    Thanks again.
You can have multiple builds on each character but if your asking if you can swap out enhancements between them, you can't. Each build has to be slotted seperately.

That's only true if a player never purchases any extra enhancement trays off of the store.

The store currently sells up to 4 extra enhancement trays which allow players the ability to pull 50 enhancements off of a build during a respec.

Extra trays cost 1600 Paragon Points

Players can also purchase Enhancement Unslotters which allows them to pull enhancements off of a build, 1 at a time, without burning a respec. Enhancement Unslotters can be purchased thru the store.
    • 120 Paragon Points (PP) for 1 unslotter
    • 300 PP for 3 unslotters (100 PP each)
    • 450 PP for 5 unslotters (90 PP each)
They can also be acquired by purchasing Super Packs as one of the random "prizes"

Players can also get Unslotters thru Paragon Rewards
    • 1 unslotter in Tier 6 along with the Boxing costume set
    • 2 unslotters in Tier 6 along with the Tailor Discount
    • 2 unslotters in Tier 6 along with the Assemble the Team power
    • 2 unslotters in Tier 7 along with the Experienced power
    • 2 unslotters in Tier 8 along with the Colored Titles option
    • 1 unslotter in Tier 8 along with the Remote Vault command
    • 1 unslotter in Tier 8 along with the Return to Battle power
    • 8 unslotters in Tier 9 (repeatable selection)

Once things settled down, then yeah, it'd make sense to need to merge severs, have server transfers, etc. A few months ago, they were claiming to have roughly 1.5 million players; a number most MMOs would kill to have. However, I have a feeling the game's overlords were expecting the 10 million another game boasted, and were "disappointed" by that.

From MY view, things seemed to be going well despite all the whining and people leaving. I've witnessed a couple of MMO launches the past few years, and it was the same thing with them. Biggest problem is we live in an IWANTITNAODAMNIT society that, unlike when CoH and a couple of others launched, won't wait around for things to stabilize and for the developers to start building on the game.

Sure it's got a few bugs, a few things that annoy people, but I personally wouldn't call it an utter failure like some were/are so quick to do. Apparently, my opinion isn't shared by many. Now, if two years had gone by with little - no change, then my opinion would change (which happened with an aforementioned sci-fi game).

Oh, and the "I've heard this gripe before" thing wasn't a dismisal. It was joke, because for years, we'd heard the same thing about CoH.

Yeah, I see your point. Losing a million customers for various reasons in the first 6 months and still seeing a steady decline towards what the minimum number of subscribers they reported they needed to turn a profit (EA said that it needs 500,000 subscribers) is no cause for them to be alarmed and panic.

Now as to that other sci-fi game, if it's the one I'm thinking of they had 6 issues added to the game in the two years they've been active and they also added a lot of stuff between issues to their store since microtransactions were planned from the start.

That's nearly the same amount of issues we ourselves recieved during the first two years here.

Personally I still think the biggest mistake that game made, if they never intended to intentionally switch to F2P from the get go, was that they continued to sell LTS's after launch. That removed a significant portion of their steady income from monthly subscriptions.

The suspicious part of me wouldn't be surprised to learn that the creators of that other sci-fi game always planned to eventually switch to a hybrid F2P business model once the sub fees dropped below a certain point.

And for the record I like the IP of this most recent sci-fi MMO a hell of a lot more than I do the IP of that other sci-fi MMO. If I had to choose which one to pull the plug on it wouldn't be the one with the laser swords.

My reasons for leaving had to do with the lousy customer support not the in game experience. If I could have gotten in touch with CS and fixed my launcher issue I'd still be subscribing.

There are still a few simultaneous click missions in regular content.

The thing is, they are clearly labled as needing X number of people. Most of them need one other person and they say things like you need "at least three teammates" (four objectives) or "a couple of teammates" (three objectives) or "a teammate" (2 objectives) or "at least one teammate" (2 objectives).

If you rush by and don't read closely, you miss it thinking it's one of the "this is going to be hard, you might want to bring friends" warning.

I have yet to find a mission that requires a team that does not state how many friends you need to bring in the mission offering even if the wording is "a friend".

    Missions such as the following:

Stop the Rikti Raid and destroy the Council's files from Phillipa Meraux 2

Check out the caverns from Eliza Thorpe 2

Go to the office, prevent the fire from starting and rescue the people that are being held by the Family (a Common random Hero mission given out in the 25-29 range). 3

Stop Nemesis' Macro Assembler from Anton Sampson 4

There may be others but a quick search on ParagonWiki for "simultaneously" showed me these.

He also said that the only regular content mission he remembered where there were simul-clicks was changed years ago. I pointed out that he his memory was faulty since there are regular content missions with that occurence.
Uhm those aren't regular content because each briefing specifically warns the player that they need to bring along team mates.

Stop the Rikti Raid and destroy the Council's files from Phillipa Meraux

The Council protects its most precious info with heavy duty security protocols, so you'll need a teammate to help you crack into their network.

Check out the caverns from Eliza Thorpe

And you'll need at least one teammate.

Go to the office, prevent the fire from starting and rescue the people that are being held by the Family

The fire bombs they use have to be disarmed simultaneously, so bring along a couple of teammates.

Stop Nemesis' Macro Assembler from Anton Sampson

So you'll need at least three teammates.

The Hollows mission I was referring to gave no indication that multiple players were needed to complete it. Soloers found out the hard way and had to beg for assistance to complete the mission which was a PITA at the time because we couldn't auto drop missions. That's why the devs changed it.

Edit: And my memory isn't faulty because I never personally ran any of those missions you have provided links to. One cannot be guilty of not remembering something he never experienced in the first place.
  22. Solely for irritating the OP it seems. Zwill has apparently been planning this for months. Designing codes to give out that work for everyone but the OP.

Seriously, though, it's a brand new game; it's going to be short on content. With all that was spent on it, with all the popularity it had, I found the F2P announcement surprising. CoX's younger siblings lasted longer, as did another sci-fi game. None of which had even half of this other game's popularity at launch. Sure the time immediately following launch can be stormy, but I figured they'd hang in there for more than 8 months.
Ah yes the popular "I've hard this gripe before" dismissal.

Fact. They started merging the servers before 6 months had passed due to the drastically dwindling playerbase.

Fact. They openly admitted sales were disappointing.

Fact. In a desperate attempt to save the game and attract potential customers they are switching from a subscription based business model to a hybrid F2P business model.

I hope it works out for them. I'll go back when the F2P launches to see if they fixed the problem that preventing me from being able to log into the game, but I'm not spending money to not be able to play a game. I can keep my $15 bucks and not play for free.

Oh I thought that costume creator was a huge slap in the face. I almost cancelled my pre-order when I saw it.

I had no problem with them wanting to use a humanoid skeleton to make synching with the voice acting easier, but they could have given us something like STO costume creator so we could customize up some decent alien heads.
