Quote:Oh I clearly see what the problem is. You made a mistake. The solution to not making that mistake again doesn't involve making changes to the game, the solution is for you to pay attention to what you are doing. You still clearly don't see it. There is a huge difference between deleting all the commons you're full up on, and accidentally clicking on the purple in the process. Having that filter on all the time when you click EVERY common you're deleting constantly is no good, and there should be an option set for each level of recipe.
Now if you were suggesting a buyback feature at vendors sure that would be a nice QoL addition to the game. But adding more prompts for deleting stuff on top of the prompts that already exist is a bad idea. -

Quote:What you want people to overlook when you make that argument is that the Chalet only has 1 mission (Father Time) and the Ski Slopes. And yes people will get bored of them very fast if they had unlimited access to them.So what, none of the other zones are fun? No zone in the game is fun except the chalet? Because if restricted access is needed for the chalet to be fun and exciting, then none of the non-restricted zones can be fun by extention.
Just like how the majority of players hate Kalinda and Mathew Burke's story arcs in Mercy Island because they are bored to tears of them.
Quote:Did three invasions this weekend. Saw no zombies pop up or I would have hit them on one character that needs the badges, but I ignored the banners because there was no reason to do them anymore. Fun or not, if my time can be spent doing something fun that also give a reward I'll do that instead. However thanks for deciding I don't like the events anymore. I totally wasn't aware I was sick to death of them.
And neither I nor anyone else is deciding what you like or don't like. You are being informed what other people have said about those events when they posted complaints about the frequency that they occur.
Quote:Truth doesn't hurt, and even if it did your post wouldn't hurt enough to cause a tingle.
Quote:What's annoying is someone deciding to move from a standard get the point across, disagree without being disagreeable post, to one that crys dooooomm1!!!!11!! about how my suggestion will destroy the halloween event as we know it.
Quote:And getting all hostile implying that I want the devs to ruin stuff for others so I can have shinys was a tad obnoxious as well. -
Quote:No it's not. It's actually a fact. The only reason the Chalet is still fun and exciting is because the devs restrict access to it while continually add to it. Players can't get bored of it during the rest of the year by farming it to death. That's complete garbage. It won't be special? So making the entirely new thing added to the event LAST YEAR, will take all the fun from the event? It would ruin it? Give me a break. Way to overreact, you should have stuck at /unsigned and left it at that.
Players however are sick to death of the Zombie Apocalypse, Deadly Apocalypse, and Rikti Invasion because they happen so often. Many players either ignore them completely or leave the zone they occur in because they view them as an annoyance especially if they are trying to accomplish an outdoor mission of some sort.
Sorry if the truth hurts. -
Why is it that TNT is putting out better Sci-Fi than the cable channel that's named after science fiction?
I'm looking at such gems as
Marcel's Quantum Kitchen and
Wrasslin -
The Halloween GM's are up year round in Croatoa.
And no more people won't do the events if the Halloween tip mission is up all year round. People don't like the zone events because they are a pain in the ***. Adding the tip mission isn't going to change that. All it will do is ruin one of the good things about the Halloween event because it will no longer be special.
The devs should ruin the event for everyone else just to satisfy you? Screw that. -
Maybe we could combine the OP's idea with the Moon Zone and an Underwater Zone!
We're Samurai's on the Moon, We sing a Bushido tune . . . -

Quote:You can only assume that based off of the comic character, since there is nothing in real life that is equivalent of getting freaking super powers...
I know for a fact I sure as hell wouldn't be acting like a mature adult if I suddenly found myself possessing super powers. Hell I don't act like a mature adult without them. -
Quote:Ah. I see, sorry for misunderstanding the meaning of your sigh.Oh, I didn't mean it like that lol. I've been rather annoyed w/ frivilous modding for a while.
I don't envy them their jobs but sometimes it seems things are being enforced a touch too strictly. This section of the forums is a lot less fun than it used to be when things were more relaxed. -

I didn't say I agreed with the mods decision. Personally I think it's like using an A-bomb to swat flies.

I wouldn't have a problem with that. It's no ones business what colors you see on your monitor.

Quote:And yet a trick shot is a generic term, whereas Spiderman is not. Frankly, they're human, and the more well-known (or sue-able) the character - again, Spiderman, Wolverine, etc - the more likely it'd be to be genericed. Once it gets a little less well known and/or common - because, really, "Wolverine" is an exception specifically because of how well known the character is - the more likely they'd let it slide. Especially if it's less like the property itself.
Plus, the farther you get from the property itself, the less likely it is they'll care. Taking your list above, with "No matter how you break it up, they'll generic you" - well, if I were actually interested enough, I could probably go make a stalker named Spy Derman, the for-hire thief, covert op/assassin with stolen teleporter and energy blade technology, and have him left completely alone. Or Spyder Mann, from your list, the superspeeding ex-exotic-car salesman (named Jimmy Mann) who was so tired of the cars being stolen he whipped up a way to fight crime mixed with his love of fast things. Now, if you use the names and make them bluntly obvious ripoffs, sure, they'd get genericed - but the GMs are not machines.
While you have a point we have seen first hand that the GM's err on the side of caution rather than give the players the benefit of doubt and it's up to the player to take the initiative and fight to get a name back. Escalating the issue up the chain and hoping they can prove the name and character are original instead of a ripoff and get the generic overturned.
And we all know that this has successfully happened a few times. -
Quote:For this reason alone the devs should write a script that checks an accounts vet badges and if their account has been active for 3 or even 6 months they can't use the "Help Me!" title.I disagree with this. I like to set my characters to "Help Me!" just so they show up purple.
This will help keep the players who genuinely want to help new players from getting disgusted with running into jacktards that are abusing the Help Me title because they want a pretty colored name, and giving up on helping new players altogether. -
Not relavent, it's still going to get genericed for copyright/trademark violation.
For example
Spider-Man
Spyderman
Spider Man
Spyder Mann
Spy Der Man
Araña-Hombre
It doesn't matter how you spell it, what punctuation you use, how many words you break it up into, or what language you translate it into. When the GM's catch you the name will be summarily genericed. The GM's do not give us the benefit of doubt in these situations. Their job is to protect the company from any further lawsuits. -
Wait we can tell our friends from our enemies by the color of their names? Here I've been using /bind target_enemy_near all these years.

Quote:I dont see it happening anytime soon, more like never. See how long it took for the cathedral of pain to get implemented and bases still never got the loving they were promised many issues ago. I would love to see cross server instances so then it wont matter if you have characters on dead servers in the event you could not move them due to financial reasons.
For any new people that are unaware at one point a while back a dev jokingly said that the next issue (at that time) should be called, "All ur bases belong to us" and to this day some people claim that was a promise they never kept.
Hence the running gag when a dev posts something even remotely vague someone jokingly posts a wild speculation. -

Quote:I can't find the thread that showed it, I didn't subscribe to it, but there were screen shots and the people that had access to it were the ones that had earned the newest vet reward badge.I saw this and figured I'd toss in a link to this thread, discussing this subject (sort of).
I suggest that they remove the name colors with these tags as well, not due to the reasons you provided, but just because people are using the tags just for the colors... which pretty much defeats the purpose of the tags.
And, Forbin, that's interesting. I had suggested they just implement custom colors for people's names, since they seem to want it... Kind of disappointing that they'd lock it behind seven years... if that's what they're doing.
