Quote:So your saying there's a conspiracy going on to cover up all the accidental deaths caused by costumed vigilantes.Do they? I don't recall hearing a statement in the shows saying nobody was killed. It's one thing not to mention any collateral casualties... it's another thing to say there are no collateral casualties.

Quote:So you are finally admitting that the problem you are having with the game is you, just like people have been saying all along?I don't know why I didn't think of this before but here's an in came comparison.
If a player doesn't like PvP there's nothing in the game to motivate someone to participate in PvP. It doesn't have any rewards what so ever. So PvP will only appeal to players who want to PvP not to players who are only there for the rewards. There are some explore badges and things that can only be earned in PvP zones but even that does not require you to actually participate. I just run in, grab the badges I need, and completely avoid running into other players so I don't have to PvP.
Repeat game play is a requirement in the game because you can't get the rewards you need without going threw content you've already played more times than I care to count. There's nothing preventing you from not repeating the same gameplay unless you don't care about the rewards they offer but sense the rewards is how you advance in the game it's kinda hard not to care about it. If you don't care about advancing in the game why are you playing the game in the first place? -
Quote:Yeah it's totally inconceivable that most people simply look at the new VIP server as another 12 free slots with the option to buy another 36. No they are all elitists that look down on F2P customers.I have a better idea. How about we DON'T have a VIP server at all. Dividing the community further is a stupid idea and the devs are stupid to implement it. Instead why not implement cross-server instancing for platinum or VIP members and a VIP/platinum only channel for the elitists to chew the fat.
Someones bigotry is showing. -
Quote:New players don't know anything about the servers. On the other hand, new players? New players don't want a half-dead server.
Quote:I'm pretty sure everyone can be quite guilty of that. Just try a free to play game. Pick one, any of them, as long as it has multiple servers. Which server would you choose? The one that only had a single bub out of three?
Green means A-Ok
Yellow means caution &
Red means danger.
So today I'd be logging onto the green servers just like I did 7 years ago when I first started playing.
Quote:Isn't that server less likely to have players running around, forming groups and providing help than the one who has two or three bubs out of three?
Quote:The main reason behind a new player's server selection is generally the population of said server. Since, really, there isn't anything else that the new player can base himself on.
Quote:It really feels like CoX:Freedom will be relying on the returning players to boost up the population on the low-pop servers and make them attracting to new players. -
-
Quote:What? Do something intelligent rather than going off half-cocked and spewing nerd-rage? You must be new to the internet.*sighs*
Again, people, read the dang OP. I'm not afraid of the freebies, and I'm not trying to be elitist or snotty.
Quote:People WILL choose the most crowded servers to play on when they start a new game, almost without fail. Freedom and Virtue are ALREADY under heavy load and contain most of the game's population.
I just think that spreading the new influx of players to servers that NEED more players, instead of two that are already stuff to the gills, would be a GOOD thing.
Maybe the devs could make Virtue and Freedom Premium servers so existing communities would remain intact.
Or the devs could do something similar to what they did with GR and require new free accounts make their first character on any server other than Freedom and Virtue. Once they do that then they are free to make a character on Freedom and Virtue. -

Quote:The simple truth is that some people are only happy when they are complaining about stuff.OK so maybe someone paid for more time than they ended up enjoying it.
That does not explain the posters I have seen for years and years posting the same rage-filled rants.
And, even if you have paid up for a while longer, why would you take the time then to come and post about hating the game rather than just go do something fun? (I do realize trolling is fun for some people.)
Take P_P for example. When a certain other game came out she made several rants here about how much she hated that game, yet she still bought a lifetime subscription to it.
Must be nice to have $200 bucks to throw away on a game she didn't like. -
Quote:Here's the thing about claiming that the average person is stupid and knows little about what they are talking about. For that to be true it means that half the people are even less intelligent. So then the real question becomes, where do you (Durakken) fit into that equation? Are you part of the group that is merely stupid and knows little about most things they post about, or are you part of the other half which is even dumber than average. Also, considering how stupid the average person is and how little they know about most things though still hold an opinion about it
In either case nothing you say can be trusted to have any type of accuracy. -
Quote:All the costume parts, emotes, auras, trail auras and costume change emotes are Certificates. That means that you buy them once, and get an email that can be redeemed by EVERY CHARACTER on your account, past, present and future. None of them are per character. However, none of them are "Global unlocks" either - they MUST be individually claimed on each character; buying them doesn't make them automatically available on all.
Thanks for the clarification Rod. -
Never been a fan of gating things like costumes and emotes but they didn't ask me.

Television syndication was started in the 50's and was already established by the time Doctor Who and Star Trek were created. Doctor Who first aired in 1963 and Star Trek first aired in 1966.
-
That's been around for years. At least as far back as when KittyKrusader was always proclaiming that everything she demanded was easy to program because she use to create stuff for NWN.
-
Quote:If it is per character then I'd say because they have to be earned by the character in question just like all the other gated costume pieces and emotes that have to be unlocked by achievement.I decided to take a look at the I-Merit unlockables, and had seen everyone saying ALL were unlocked globally. When browsing through I found that costume-change emotes are unlocked PER CHARACTER! What? Is this a typo, or very true? Why are all other costume/emote pieces unlockable for all but not these?
Witch's Hat
Stocking Cap
Victory Laurel
Ear Muffs
Pumpkin Head
Toga
Epaulets
Santa Gloves
Hellenic Sandals
Santa Boots
Flaming Naughty Halo
Golden Nice Halo
Heart Costume
Roman Costume Set
Weapon Customization (linked to the earned badge)
Shield Customization (linked to the earned badge)
Edit: This game has had gated costumes and emotes for years. This would be nothing new if it's true. -

Not a problem. It's virtually impossible to keep track of every question they answer in any one of thousands of threads. Only reason I know the answer is because I asked a similar question and was keeping an eye out for a response.

Quote:That's why I said the list goes on and on. I'm surprised at all the ones I did remember.I agree!
But I would add http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8N8CD7gN2MA&NR=1 if you have macross and other Anime in there, you might as well have their grandaddy. Astroboy too but that was never my thing... -
Quote:The market is global. Always has been. The popularity of a show/movie/radio knows no boundaries. It never has.Yes, and the size of markets is an objective fact independent of nationalism. The U.S. has a much larger media market than the U.K. because it has five times the population. Hollywood is still the biggest creator of movie and TV content for global distribution.

Quote:I'm with Bill on this for a slightly different reason. Prestige allows players who don't play the market or accrue large sums of Inf to still enjoy bases.See, I'm for keeping Prestige, for the simple reason it's a way for "everyone" - not just the marketeers - to feel they're contributing (visibly) to the supergroup, without *losing* anything before 26. So to me, it does have a "significant" purpose in the game. (And not a silly position on the registrar's list.)
However, so do INF sinks... *IF* people feel its worthwhile to use them.
The problem with the ratio is that it's so punitive that few people will use it. 1:1 IS silly, yes. 1:250 (twice, or half depending on which side you're looking at, the current rate) itself would be an improvement. But I'd hope they'd put more thought into it.
If the devs were to switch over to Inf then the prestige prices of base items would probably skyrocket to their Inf equivalents and we probably wouldn't get inf back if we decided to redesign the base like we do know with prestige. -
Quote:Oh god not this again. I see someones channeling the essence of Golden Girl.To me, a hero or villain can easily be told apart from one another not just from the costume but how they fight... once we start having villains act like heroes, it'll get rather confusing.
Quote:I'm going to let you in on something very important.
It's not what your powers are, but what you do with them.
So Skot whose the hero and villain?
To make it more difficult I used the purple background so you can't recognize any ingame backgrounds, and I included the names because we all know how misleading they can be.
Edit: I had to go and change Filthy Ike's screenshot. I just realized that the last time I was at the tailor the dang thing change his jacket and I didn't catch it. Now he looks like he's supposed to. -
Quote:Thanks Bill. The restrictions should be in place at the "account" level (billing or whoever deals with it,) so access would be shut off or whatever regardless. So I'd imagine it would be in place there as well - if nothing else to maintain as much similarity to live for testing purposes as possible.

Quote:Congrats! Your wish has been granted. When Freedom goes live you can create as many free accounts as your heart desires and have as many characters as you like on any server you want.with all these wonderfull powers sence the last time i played, i can see my last 10 getting used pretty easily. Has there been any talk about adding more? I realize there are other servers, but when you have a base, and been working on it well sence they came out, leaving to goto a new server just isnt that much of an intersting option. As it is i have one server for villians, and one for heros. But id rather keep playing on my main as for some reason i find heroes way more fun.
Even outside the base, which is just a really neat perk/convience, its all the people i play with are on the server. Just headeing to a new server just to play a couple toons just doesnt really seam all that appealing either
Has there been any word, or talk about adding more slots? if not, have they given a reason why?
Id even pay double the amount they were charging for the first 24 extra, for the next 24 extra..
I hope this is coming in the freedom issue.. you know you want more items to sell in your store,, make one of um more slots Please.. : )
Even better with one token $5 dollar purchase of Paragon Points each free account will automatically be upgraded to a Premium Account!
But seriously I'd like more slots myself. -
Quote:The devs already answered this and said no because we're already getting the 4 slots that came with CoV automatically on every server.I wonder if people who bought CoV at launch (and until it became part of the core game) ought perhaps to get additional premium slots under Freedom...
This isn't like GR where the people where bought it got 2 extra slots to add to their account (not on each server). -
Quote:First what Bill said.If he's on the trial isn't he capped at lv14? So he probably hasn't even been read-in on the Incarnate system yet.
Second. Do trial account restrictions even apply on the test server? The trial restrictions on the live servers are to fight RMT abuse. That problem doesn't exist on the test server.
