Quote:Casual player? <raised eyebrow>
Does that mean you play 20 hours a day in your boxers?Quote:Yeeeeah, I think we've kinda missed the meaning of "casual" somewhere here. While I won't deny a serious case of altitis the time I spend playing isn't really all that much. It's not unusual for me to go two weeks without playing. Otherwise I try to get in at least an hour once a week. That's why it takes me forever to level my characters.

I'm saying that we aren't entitled to make demands about what the devs choose to give us as a show of appreciation. When people start acting childish and petty about the gifts they receive it's far more likely that the gifts will stop coming. We are very lucky that our devs are so generous.
-
Not only do I currently have 108 different characters, I have multiple accounts because I have filled all 36 slots on my home server.
When Freedom goes live I'll have 4 active accounts, and I'm a very casual player. -
Quote:Now that we have the backpack category for the Steampunk backpack the devs could expand it to include various jetpack designs that can be used like wings.I agree, Get a standard stance and allow customizing of the "board". If you want a cloud select that or a rock or whatever. I think alot of the shield designs could probably be used as a "board" template.
Personally I would love to see my Prestige Power slide be usable as a "board".
Fly is a great power with lots of costume possibilities for customization without needing to design an entirely new power around it. The biggest problem is designing new poses for things like broomsticks, hover/jet bikes, or flying mounts because a sitting position could require new animations for all the powers. -
I use gratz all the time or even CG if I'm in the middle of a fight. I also frequently give grats to myself because I'm not paying attention to my own bars and just hear the ding and assume it's someone else on the team.
-
Yeah right. Like the devs are going to make people roll up a new character every time they introduce a new power set or archetype.
-
There are more than one form of communications used by the devs for example this was an answer given in a live Q&A at a recent Con.
Quote:What is the chance of having a "wipe clean" respec for a toon to repick powers or Archtype. I have been told the reason is no heroes ever change their powers. I have to disagree on that. Superman Red/Blue or Guy Gardner and their are a lot more. A vetpwr?
Positron - The reason isn't that those characters don't, it's more that a complete overhaul invalidates a ton of work we've put into making the game alt-friendly. -
I watched a documentary where they did an experiment on kids in grade school and how quickly the kids embraced prejudice over eye color. They were told people with a certain eye color were superior and treated them better then watched how the kids reacted.

My only objection to what Cryptic did is that I don't want to see a bunch of separate powers. I'd much prefer our power customization.
1 power with multiple customization choices like we have with wings. It gives us tons more flexibility and we don't have to tear apart a build if we want to make a change. -
Quote:/ThisWell, from the interview, it sounds like there's a fairly obvious "This piece is locked" (and extra items that link to the store.) So I don't think there'll be much of a 'bait and switch,' as you put it.
That said, I wouldn't object to a "Hide unavailable pieces" button. -
No they don't. What they have doesn't look anything like Iceman's Ice Slide. What they have is several travel powers that are nothing more than Hover Board with different objects to stand on. Their Ice Slide literally looks like Silver Surfers board with icicles hanging off of it.

And they already made long time subscribers feel appreciated by giving us a brand new server, the ability to pick the vet rewards we want instead of waiting years for them, between 400-550 free Paragon Points each month, 1 free server transfer each month when Freedom goes live.

Quote:Of course your imaginary friends did. I'm sure you are right that the brief explanation you gave them allowed them to instantly master all aspects of the game including how powers work differently in PvP.Like I said... Does not require a genius to learn to play any AT. Sorry if this hurts your feelings but it is very true. The "skill" you speak of is knowing the game and powers and how to use them... Never had a grav controller.... but I'm betting I could PL one to 50 and do just fine...because I have played controllers..understand how the game works..and am not illiterate and can read what a power does. This game requires very little skill... which in NO way means I support total power respecs. But to use the "OH NOES It will make noobs out of people" argument... is BS. Those people who can't figure out how to play a toon after 30 minutes...have severe learning deficiencies.
I have brought 4-5 people into this game by showing them the game...and then sitting there for a few minutes explaining things to them... and then let them play one of my 50's..NONE of them has ever said anything like "OMG this is soo confusing."
So again... baseless and pointless argument..unless of course you are comparing all players to brain dead monkeys. Which I will admit in my 6 years...I have come across a few players..noob and veteran alike; that fit that category quite well. -

Quote:/ThisI saw C&A on Friday, and I enjoyed it. There were some cheese-tastic moments and a good bit of the dialog was flat and uninspired (there were 9 writers IIRC), but overall the movie delivered a fun couple of hours of entertainment. My wife, son and I all gave it a good, solid B+.
It's a good B movie. -

Quote:And here is a perfect example of what we've been talking about.Nice to see the forum cartel out in force trying to diminish another good idea that the player base has asked for.
The Forum Cartel is nothing more than a title based on the number of posts someone makes in the game, yet this person is trying to use it to infer there is an elite group of players working in concert to control the forums. And yet as much as he tries to deny it he keeps referring to this imaginary Forum Cartel. -
Quote:It's not false and Kirby was not under any duress. No one was holding a gun to his head. He was free to walk and take his talent elsewhere any time he liked. The judge didn't rule on this part of the law, the decision was made about another aspect entirely. Your generalization was "It doesn't matter what a contract is written on. It could be written in crayon on toilet paper, as long as it's signed it's still valid." That generalization is false. That's what the entire discussion about duress was.

Quote:Just because Stark recovered it 60 odd years ago doesn't mean he immediately turned it over to the government.I know that Stark found it, but I was referring to your "Odin's tesseract" comment. It seems weird that if the Asgardians knew about the Cube, they'd want to keep it in the armory along with the Casket and Infinity Gauntlet, so I was wondering if it had popped up there and I just didn't see it.
I'm also wondering why SHIELD is acting like they just barely found the Cube in modern day when Stark found it 60+ years ago. Seems like it would have made more sense if they found the Cube along with Cap. -
Quote:Best scene in the whole movie. Tommy's explaining how his fair haired boy is the best choice and tosses the dummy grenade as a demonstration only to watch the 90 lb weakling jump on the grenade while his fair haired boy cowers behind a jeep/truck.Too bad Tommy Lee's character didn't see that, his reaction would have been probably about as funny as his reaction and commentto Erskine after Rogers threw himself onto the grenade.

Quote:http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showp...&postcount=181For those asking about Reward Tokens and multimonth subscriptions: As of now, the current plan is for you to receive all of your TOKENS up front however your PARAGON POINTS will be doled out each month on your billing cycle.
Should this change we'll let you know. -
If that's true it's the first I've heard of it. Also if it's true I have to wonder what they are going to replace the City Traveler vet reward with since being able to take one of the first three powers at level 4 makes being able to take a travel power at level 6 useless.
