Guys this is the internet you really shouldn't be surprised that there are people that assume beta testing is nothing more than a sneak peak at new content so everything there should work perfectly.
-
Just another example of the speed that promotions can sometimes occur in wartime.
In 1861 Galusha Pennypacker enlisted in the Army as a quartermaster sergeant at the age of 16, and by the age of 20 (March 1865) he was promoted to Major General. -

The VIP Beta Feedback doesn't appear on the forums if you have your settings bookmarked to City of Heroes Forums > English. So the OP probably didn't know he had access to them.
-
Also noticed some more griefing in those open missions where a player you aren't teamed with will aggro a bunch of NPC's and lead them over to someone to get them killed.

Quote:Heroes can get patrons. Just switch sides and run the patron story arcs. Just like the villains have to do if they want access to the equivalent hero pools.I think heroes feel a little left out. Villains have these wonderfully caring, sensitive, mentors/role models who are willing to teach them a few epic powers if they'll just run a few errands for them in return.
But what about heroes? Won't anyone take those poor, unloved heroes under their wing? -
Quote:The shared mission in the tutorial is no different than what we've had for years as zone events and fighting GM's, however sending players to the same location in a zone to fight regular street mob NPC's is a stupid idea. I saw the same damn thing happening that I hate about playing Champions. A whole bunch of players standing around in one spot waiting for the NPC's to respawn. This is a frakkin clusterbleep and can easily be griefed by higher level characters who will be able to wipe out the lower level players objectives before they can complete their missions.3. Shared mission areas - there was one mission where you go into a Hellion cave and fight your way to a glowie. Shared mission areas are an incredibly bad idea. You always have competition for mobs and/or objectives, from what I've seen in other games, and you have the potential for griefing.
Keep the instanced paradigm please.
The old method was far superior.
Quote:6. LAG - the lag on the beta server was worse than any iTrial I've been on. Optimization needs to be top priority, or the influx of F2P players will kill the game.
7. Mob AI - it might have beeen the lag, but mob AI seemed... off. If I stand in the middle of a group of mobs, they should all attack. The only reaction I received from mobs were the ones I attacked.
I'm surprised it wasn't a lot worse. They really did a great job upgrading the servers to handle the higher population. -
If that were true this game would have lousy graphics, a crappy costume creator, millions of subscribers, and so much money there'd be no reason to switch over to F2P.

Quote:Yeah, I'm having this issue too. It then goes on to tell me that it's either my firewall/networks fault or to check the server status page.
I can log into CoH fine, and I'd tried turning off my firewall, so I'm thinking it's not me.
Kinda glad to know I'm not alone. -
I was just disconnected and told it was because my gender is invalid.
THE DEVS HATE SQUIRRELS!!! -

Quote:Well to be honest, traditionally the position of ship's captain does not have to hold the rank of Captain. The Captain of a vessel is merely the person who is put in charge of the ship. Usually the smaller the vessel the more likely you will find the ship's captain to have a lower rank, especially in times of war.Never questioned the potential. Only the implausibility of putting a cadet permanently in charge of a flagship. If Starfleet is corrupt enough to give him a pass and officially give him the captain's chair after a scandalously short period of time that's their problem.
During peacetime the number of ship's reduce and there are fewer Captain's slots to be filled so the positions tend to go to the officers with higher rank. -
Quote:And if we can peek into these other universes will we be able to tape what is seen and broadcast it as uncensored reality TV shows?Outside of conjecture, is there any real evidence that any universe outside our own exist? Will I ever be able to peek into these other universes in any way?
And if we can peek into those alternate realities will we eventually be able to cross over so we can dump our garbage and harvest their natural resources?
And if we can cross over will we be able to snatch our alternate selves from those realities so we can use them to harvest organs for transplants? Or use them as test subjects in medical experiments or for testing cosmetics so we can stop the mistreatment of innocent animals. -

Quote:Isn't it strangeBut no scientific theory I know of says that we can get into a rocket ship and find clones of ourselves.
Feels like I'm lookin' in the mirror
What would people say
If only they knew that I was
Part of some geneticist's plan (plan-plan-plan)
Born to be a carbon copy man (man-man-man)
There in a petri dish late one night
They took a donor's body cell and fertilized a human egg and so I say
I think I'm a clone now
There's always two of me just a-hangin' around
I think I'm a clone now
'Cause every chromosome is a hand-me-down
Look at the way
We go out walking close together
I guess you could say
I'm really beside myself
I still remember how it began (gan-gan-gan)
They produced a carbon copy man (man-man-man)
Born in a science lab late one night
Without a mother or a father, just a test tube and a womb with a view
I think I'm a clone now (a clone now)
There's always two of me just a-hangin' around
I think I'm a clone now (a clone now)
'Cause every chromosome is a hand-me-down
I think I'm a clone now (a clone now)
And I can stay at home while I'm out of town
I think I'm a clone now (a clone now)
'Cause every pair of genes is a hand-me-down
Signing autographs for my fans
Come and meet the carbon copy man
Livin' in stereo, it's all right
Well I can be my own best friend and I can send myself for pizza so I say
I think I'm a clone now
Another one of me's always hangin' around
I think I'm a clone now
'Cause every chromosome is a hand-me-down
I think I'm a clone now (a clone now)
I've been on Oprah Winfrey - I'm world renowned
I think I'm a clone now (a clone now)
And every pair of genes is a hand-me-down
I think I'm a clone now (a clone now)
That's my genetic twin always hangin' around
I think I'm a clone now (a clone now)
'Cause every chromosome is a hand-me-down
I think I'm a clone now (a clone now) -
Quote:I've been playing for 7 years and this is the first time I've ever heard the phrase City of Bugs. That's a petty response to a reasonable question.
Years ago many people started calling the game City of Bugs because there were just so many bugs that never seemed to get fixed. Now the game is starting to develop another list of them. No, they're mostly aren't serious problems (the missing health bar is a serious issues), but it is reasonable to ask if they're going to get fixed. -
Hell CBS owns Star Trek and they have no idea how the Star Trek universe works.

The devs could really limit us if they wanted to. They could set the storage amount very low and they could also limit the number of recipe bins allowed per base. Like how we can only have 1 Personal Vault Storage.

Quote:No harm, no foul. This is why I hate text based communication. I can't hear tone... and my Sarcasmadar and "Playful Ribbing Meter" are in the shop.
As long as people are willing to keep the lines of communication open like we just did we can minimize misunderstandings and get clarification on what was meant.
Far too often people take things on the forums as Thunderdomesque duels to the death.
For the record just because I disagree with Oedipus in this thread doesn't mean there's any animosity. We're just opinionated. -

Quote:Khan would have kicked Kirk's butt if he only had Herve Villechaize to point at the main viewscreen and shoutTo be honest if I were Spock-Prime I think I would alert young Kirk and young Spock that if they ever find the Botany Bay drifting in space to lock all phasers and photon torpedoes onto it and vaporize it into it's component molecules.
Hey Khan, The Enterprise! The Enterprise!
