Quote:Truth. And a year later they went and gave those same zones and archetypes to every subscriber for free.Hell, power sets are nothing, I remember this one time, they sold us five whole Archetypes. And a bunch of zones, but admittedly they were kind of lame.
Rumor has it they are gonna do the same thing with Going Rogue sometime around October. -
Quote:We'll be getting a gift of 1200-1600 points when Freedom launches. That's pays for both of the powersets up front. You get Time Manipulation.
Beam Rifle? You have to buy that.
Street Justice? You have to buy that.
Titan Weapon? Guess what? Yup you have to buy that.
Quote:So yeah, now powersets are additonal cost, on top of your subscription fee.
The 400 points a month you get? won't cover them either in a single month. -
Quote:The only reason I can think of him being upset about VIP players using the VIP server is if he planned all along to cancel his subscription and he irrationally fears that everyone he knows will go to the VIP server to get away from him.The only thing I'll add is about the VIP server. I plan to stay on the Servers I usually play on (Liberty, Justice, Pinnacle, Virtue, and Freedom) with maybe rolling one or two new Characters on the VIP server. I may do some consolidation at some point, but I don't plan a whole hearted abandonment of any of my usual servers anytime soon.
Thank you for the time...
Because if he spent any time reading the posts on the forums and the discussions in the game he'd have seen that the majority of players have said that they have no intention of leaving their current servers and only see the VIP server as an additional 12-48 slots that they'll be able to use to store less played characters. -
Quote:Then don't. No one is holding a gun to your head. But there are many players who will save a lot of money by buying those two rows of enhancement slots.I'm not paying $40 on two rows of enhancements just because the respec system is bad.
Currently it costs $70 bucks to pull all the enhancements off of a single build ($210 bucks for all three builds), and we have players that burn thru respecs like they were meth addicts. That one time purchase of $40. for two enhancement trays forever cuts that price in half.
And if they are VIP's it won't cost them a penny to buy because they can save up and only spend the free points they get with their subscription. We'll be getting 1200-1600 points when Freedom launches, That's one tray right there. -
Let's see . . . the first thing I'd do is materialize the T.A.R.D.I.S inside itself, but slightly in the future. The other 99 things on my bucket list would involve what I'd be doing with two Amy Pond's.

Quote:Yes it does. The Paragon Market has an entire section called content and in it they sell expansions and zone packs. Admittedly at this time there are only two items for sale but so what, Freedom hasn't launched yet and more can be added.I get his point. I nother F2P hybrid MMO's you 'buy' content and that is it, you have it forever. The current version of Freedom that doesn't happen.
Quote:You can't buy access to the AE, you can only rent that access for a month, which is kinda BS.
Quote:Don't even get me started on the whole paragon points for a subscriber not covering content that we used to get for free issue either. -
Quote:Uhm no offense but I don't want to lose all the storage I have available now with individual vaults for each character.i would like this, they should just change the vault to a global storage so it could be "more useful" than it currently is
Vault - 12 character per server 9,600 slots/ 48 characters per server 38,400 slots.
I'd much rather see them duplicate the vault and make the duplicate a global bank. -
Quote:If he has access to incarnates on the live servers now that means he already bought GR and he'll still have that access if he let's his sub lapse. Premiums don't lose anything they've already paid for.You also have access to EVERYTHING you can before i18. So just pretend your client never got updated to Incarnates, and you get to keep ALL of that. FOR FREE.
If he hasn't bought GR yet then he has nothing to complain about because he said he wants to buy content and that is exactly what GR is, content. -
Congratulations then I21 is giving you exactly what you want.
If you don't pay for a subscription you will have to buy content in order to play it and still play the basic game for free.
Meanwhile the players that prefer to buy time will pay for their subscriptions and get all the content you choose to pay for for free.
It's a win/win. -
I blame the parents. Too many of them have raised their kids to think that when they say "no." it really means they'll say yes if they keep bugging them about it.
-
There's a possibility that the devs may decide to add something like that now that the games going F2P, but if they do it will most likely have a very small storage capacity. I'd be surprised if they allowed 50 slots total.

Quote:Yes he did. He said it's not on the schedule, and another time he said it invalidated all the work they've put into making the game alt friendly. That means no. If he meant yes he would have said something along the lines of, "It's something we'd like to work on in the future." or "It's not a priority at this time", or "It's on the back burner".No. Positron said what he said; that it's not on the schedule, and that AT respecs are impossible. He also stated that Powerset respecs were possible, and a lot of hard work which may or may not be worth the effort. He did not say "No. Never."
But you can believe whatever you want, it still won't make it true.
Quote:That's being entirely too hostile on the OP -
The OP isn't the only one jumping to conclusions, I saw someone say this on beta earlier. A name has been changed to protect the identity of the clueless.

Quote:The only problem with badges is that there are a few that can't be re-earned. Those badges should be made account wide. Prestige means nothing and can easily be reacquired by simply doing an inf conversion.I think the only intent the author wishes is to be able to keep badges, earned SG Prestige records, and other perks without having to re-earn them. Although I understand the sentiment, it removes a major reason to play through the game again with another character - earning badges and other perks (and the time sync involved therein).
I'm going to be stuck in a similar quagmire when Titan Weapons comes out, since it fits Obsidius' basic premise I established years ago when he was an RP character. Still, there have to be hooks to play a character from lvl 1-50+, storylines, XP, Inf, and missions aside. -
Quote:There seems to be a few people floating around that don't understand the concept of what beta testing means. This isn't the first thread I've seen where someones upset that there are bugs in the beta. Like this . . .Did anyone point out to this guy that he was playing an early beta version of the software and not a release candidate?
PS- if you've never rubberbanded in WoW, you didn't play very much.
Quote:I was referring to the adding more content before actually fixing bugs in the game. VIP Beta shouldn't of come out till all the new content was working properly.
As this is the 2nd wave of the Beta, yes I expect the Paragon Point system to be working at the very least. -
Quote:Yep. He's crying because he wants all the privileges of a subscription but doesn't want to pay the sub fee.The OP is basically upset that in order to keep everything they have now they are going to have to keep paying for it as we have done for years. As long as you stay subscribed CoH:Freedom should not be removing ANYTHING we have access to now.
I also found it funny he's mad about the lag and rubber banding on the beta server where there's tens of thousands of players crammed onto a single server.
Duh.
What did he expect would happen. -
Quote:Not only will he keep everything he currently has if he keeps his sub active, but he will be given a $5 dollar credit (400 points) to the paragon store each month he keeps his account active.tl dr
but I was under the impression that as long as I stayed subscribed, I would have all that I have now and nothing would be lost.
The impression I got from skimming the OP was that somehow staying subscribed would mean that a subscriber would have to re-purchase items.
Am I wrong about what Freedom means? Or about what the OP says? Or what?
is there a tl dr version of the OP?
So the truth of the matter is as long as he's patient and builds up his free points he will never have to spend any money on anything in the store. -
You can't find a place to post this because your post is nothing more than a long winded "I'm Quitting!" rant and they aren't allowed to be posted on the forums.

Because he used the words "Not Exactly" in the title.

Quote:Okay, but just for clarification so I can avoid any future misunderstandings, if I want to respond to something you have posted, should I send you a PM and ask permission to quote you first?Just for future reference: Just because I posted after you doesn't mean I was responding to you. If I'm responding to someone, I quote them. Posting without quoting means responding to the thread.
You had mentioned tagging npc's for credit to complete the open missions, but the problem I saw, and experienced once again last night was that there were so many players at the mission site it was next to impossible to complete the mission.
Last night trying to do one of the rescue hostages missions it took me 30 minutes to tag the hellions and rescue 4 hostages because there were a dozen players at the mission site causing too much lag to target anything fast enough. (inside regular missions there was no lag at all.)
Now when this goes live it may not be a problem on lower pop servers but on servers like Freedom and Virtue . . . -
Charisma really got curvylicious after she had her son.

Quote:No. Posi also said this about power-set respecs in an ingame Q&A.From the mentioned Q&A:
So it's not that they can't or won't do it. It's just not on the schedule at the moment.
Quote:Positron - it's more that a complete overhaul invalidates a ton of work we've put into making the game alt-friendly. -
