Quote:I already made my suggestion, which is for the devs to do nothing because the feature is working as intended and doesn't need to be changed. You should be suggesting they fix the "hole" in the system that you see that I'm trying to create...its there. IT'S ALREADY THERE. So maybe it needs to be corrected a different way based on what you continue to battle me on.

Quote:We don't have to come up with a proposal because we are happy with the way it works. Its so much easier to snipe a proposal than actual come up with one.
Quote:To continue to think its not a problem obviously isn't true if people are discussing it, otherwise we wouldn't even be doing this right now.
Quote:I'm so glad mine and a few others opinions doesn't matter...
Quote:Lets assume this is a problem...just for the sake of the discussion. Pretend you actually think its a problem, what would be a possible solution? Because that's where I'd like to get to. This is suggestions and ideas after all. -
Quote:Sorry to disappoint you but you don't get to dictate how people respond to your posts. Please stop pushing the rewards thing. I am not arguing for rewards. Everyone seems entrenched on that.
All I was suggesting was the ability to have the 5 missions a day be toggled on/off or an option a the end of mish. This has NO IMPACT ON REWARDS. It will force you to do more missions to get to your rewards.
And like I said you can come at it with all the real world complaints like Claws has, but in the end you can opt out of your morality selection after you've run 10 missions and the morality mish.
Today, you can turn off xp so you don't outlevel content. Then why not turn off accruing the alignment missions?
So please if you are going to respond to my idea, STOP INCLUDING REWARDS AS PART OF THE GRIPE. I'm just trying to propose a solution (game-wise) that would allow the OP to play with friends who may be a different alignment (get no special treatment or rewards OR accrue his alignment) until he runs his own missions and opts to get credit for them.
The feature doesn't need a solution because it is working exactly the way the devs intended it to. The fact that you and a few others don't like it doesn't matter.
Quote:Because the way the system is designed, you are supposed to be penalized for running Tip missions that are not of your current alignment. The penalty comes in the form of it taking you longer to get your merits if you do non-alignment missions. How many missions you actually run is not the point, it is meant to be a real time penalty. If you fill up your 5 missions for that day with non-aligned missions, it will take you an additional day to get your reward.
You can get mad at us all you like but it still isn't going to change the devs minds. -

Quote:Ah I see an interview. I thought something else happened so I withdraw my previous assumption. What I said they said was more or less exactly what they said; not a vague hint at all but a dev in an interview, IIRC. At worst, I had the gall to take what was said at face value, instead of psychically knowing that "never switching away from Hero/Villain" came with an additional "of course, you can switch to either of those, but you can't switch away from them".
It still doesn't make a lot of sense in its current implementation. Granted, I assumed at the time that remaining an exemplary Hero or Villain was only going to be a badge or something, rather than the ability to earn PVP, Purple, and cheap rare IOs. -
Quote:Ah I see. Well I do miss things cuz I don't pay as much attention to announcements as I should.I think he figured you would know based on the amount of time you spend on the forums. It was announced in a couple of threads.
Edit: One of the announcements is here.I do appreciate the link.

Quote:Actually it's an opportunity for free players to get a cheap upgrade to Premium. For just $2. bucks they can get a free month as a VIP and when the 30 days run out they'll enjoy all the benefits of a Premium account instead of the restrictive limitations of a free account. It comes with a free month of game time. For those who might be interested in checking out CoH:Freedom, it's basically an opportunity for them to become a "VIP" member for only $1.99 instead of $14.99.
For those of us who are already subscribers, it's not really meant for us. -
So Wil Wheaton was on Eureka. That explains why it's being cancelled.

Quote:Sounds more like more of the same old thing that always happens. The devs give out some vague hints and some people let their imaginations get the better of them and then get upset when reality doesn't live up to their fantasies.I find it a bit amusing that folks are loving my idea when it was at least partly motivated by a need for better parity between the alignments rather than a mere QoL change or the call for more alignment-specific content (though I want that too!). My actual idea was if you could get missions on both sides of the game (And why wouldn't Harcase work with my Vigilante? Nobody in Paragon will work with a Rogue when Hero Corps exists?), it means that you could potentially get reward merits from both sides' arcs, thereby making up for not being able to earn alignment merits.
I'm still irked that that the elite rewards were mis-advertised before GR came out. We were told that heroes and villains who never turned would get special benefits to make up for choosing not to participate in the system and tarnish their reputations. How the system actually works is that as long as you're hero or villain alignment, you're good enough to buddy up with the Phalanx or the Patrons and get the goodies. -
No I don't know that because I can't log onto the beta server that my characters were on. Once I'm able to log on I'll be able to confirm if that is what happened.

Quote:That's not true. You can create a Praetorian go thru the tutorial and get him into Nova Praetoria, the first city zone, then create a regular hero or villain and delete the first Praetorian character. And in addition, here is the real kicker. If you are starting with Going Rogue, you have to create a Preatorian first. Once you have a Praetorian, then you can start a hero or villain. So, by the time you have HEATs and VEATs unlocked, you will have three characters. The Preat does not need to leave the tutorial though IIRC.
-
I'm showing 2 active beta servers. 1 I can't log onto and the other is empty. All my characters are gone. So I'm assuming my characters are on the one I can't log onto.

Saying all farming is an exploit is like saying all dogs are French Poodles because all French Poodles are dogs.

Quote:Lothics correct on the safety issue.Back during the Beta when that ship was added to the game I actually submitted a petition to suggest that the roadway next to that ship/helicopter be edited because there was no realistic way any US Navy ship would be "crammed up" into such a tight space with power lines so close like that. It's not only a safety hazard but a security one as well.
Obviously they didn't bother to listen to me... -
Aircraft aren't allowed to take off or land on a ship docked in port. In fact on US military vessels aircraft are transferred to an airbase before the ship docks and return once the ship puts out to sea.

The more the OP posts the more it becomes obvious he has some serious entitlement issues.

Quote:So you admit you have nothing. How can I say that? Because you ignored what I posted.well, Blood Rose has been:
Dark/Regen/Leaping/Presence
Dark/Regen/Leaping/Presence/Teleport
Dark/Regen/Leaping/Medicine
Dark/Regen/Leaping/Fighting/Body
Dark/Regen/Leaping/Weapon
Dark/Regen/Leaping/Dark
Dark/Regen/Leaping/Presence/Dark
Dark/Regen/Leaping/Medicine/Weaponry
Dark/Regen/Leaping/Teleport/Dark
and so on
actually, Blood Rose hit 50 before free respecs were coming out and she has used every single respec she has earned since 2004 when she was made as a scrapper in prelaunch, Vet, all three Trials, the granted and so on

I don't believe that the primary and secondary powersets have that much flexibility to justify 10 separate builds. -

I didn't include the sales because they aren't listed on the account page, also I couldn't remember the exact details of the sales.

You have to log into the other account and do the transfer.

You can open 8 additional trays by simply clicking on the + that's after recipes on your initial tray. You can take those 8 trays and place them anywhere on your screen. So with the initial tray you can have 90 powers at your fingertips.
Edit: Nevemind Bill's pic shows why this is not needed. -
Quote:Thank you for the explanation. I'm not a programmer and it helps me understand why they chose to do it this way. I won't pretend that everything is crystal clear but I'm satisfied knowing there is a valid reason why it wasn't done, and probably won't be done. They recently told us that the biggest load on the mapserver was <10 characters holding multiple door missions, and that was a big reason they cut back on the number of door missions for them so things would be more efficient.
When they redesigned the Auction interface, they stopped auto downloading the entire updated item listing as soon as you opened the panel, because even after years of search optimizations it was still making some people crash.
Why should they reverse that kind of trend and implement a shotgun Name check approach that will surely put more load on the character database for the admittedly small percentage of players who would be willing to server hop for a specific name?
If you can't see the difference between making the player server hop to check for a name on all servers and instituting an automatic check of all servers regardless of desire and/or need, I don't know what else to say.
Going from checking 1 server at a time to checking all servers every time skips a couple steps. People who write server queries and think about efficient solutions and minimal load wouldn't find a second search only when needed to be too complicated in comparison to shotgunning it.
