Never said it wasn't a veteran thing. I have that same power but the inspirations it generates aren't as valuable as the two from the old tutorial.

I'll even concede that it may very well be a matter of perception but to me it feels like I was better off before.

Yes it's an annoying PITA bug, I had to do it again when I21 launched and as usual I remembered what to do after I got frustrated and lost my temper. <sigh>

Uhm you don't understand the concept of collecting things do you.

    1. Collecting anything there is always a risk that it will never increase in value.

    2. Unopened and unused (Factory Sealed) is always the definition of Mint Condition and thereby the most valuable.

The only time opened is acceptable is with items like cards that are randomly packaged and need to be opened in order to find out the contents.

Collectors will buy 2 or more copies of items they are collecting. 1 for their personal use, and the other(s) to add to their collection.

Because the devs want their to be consequences for switching sides. Full heroes and Villains get higher rewards but are restricted to a single faction while Rogues and Vigilantes have the freedom to access both factions at the price of lower rewards.

You don't have to like it tho.

I'd rather beat up random Skulls and Hellions in the streets than get through that hectic mess a second time.

I didn't like the "alien invasion" tutorial in Champions Online and I don't like it any more in City of Heroes.
True, but I do prefer using the tutorial inspirations (singular now) as my start up capital on my characters over using other characters as ATM's.

No actually I started reading "The Saga of Seven Suns" by Kevin J. Anderson when the headstart launched and I'm halfway thru book 6 as we speak.

I'll have to pay more attention the next time. I've been doing the tutorial only using brawl on auto attack while reading a book.

No 2 years. Just long enough to give people that bought lifetime subs the illusion that they would have spent the same amount if they had paid monthly subs instead.

Edit: The same thing is happening with their Space MMO.

Uhm . . . What damage? You can't die in the tutorial.

There's a reason that game went F2P two years after it was released and it isn't because it was successful. So sorry to disappoint you but it was never a threat to this game.

  13. My Time Lord is Professor Haruspex.

His powers are based on The Masters mental abilities rather than the new time powers, but I am considering a new Time Lord alt.

I'm trying hard to resist the urge to make a parody based on Doctor Who and Vinny Barbarino, but I fear I won't be successful.
  14. Personally, I too liked the way the rewards were claimed before.

It's a collector's edition. Releasing the things that make it unique would result in it no longer being a collector's item, resulting in all those that bought it as such being very very upset. Doesn't matter if it is 'actually' collectible, all that matters is that it was advertised as such.

The rarity seen at Amazon would vanish overnight. Even though Paragon gets no money from those transactions, they can't take any actions to undermine the sellers as they bought the CE in good faith that it would increase in value as a result. It might not, that's a risk the buyer takes, but the company that sells the item can't take action to undermine it's value after the sale. Even when it hurts the bottomline.
That's what I figured was the motivation behind the decision not to re-release it.

Didn't know that, but it does blow a big hole in that other theory.

Unless you are an employee of WizKids how would you know the mold was destroyed. It costs them nothing to store the mold after it was made in case NCSoft ever wants more made.

I like the revamp, I just wish they left the old contacts/missions and simply added the new ones. They could have just required that new players go thru the new contacts on their first character, then let players have a choice of going thru the new contact or the origin contacts on their other characters.
  19. My gripe with the tutorial is that I used to be able to start with 2 enhancements and a decent size red and green insp I could sell at the market to start outfitting my alts. Now it seems I can only get a single green insp.

Now as to the new missions in AP. I am already bored to frickin tears of seeing the exact same contacts/missions on every single character. Always having to go thru Kalinda or Burke what killed any interest I had for playing villains, and now AP is doing the same thing. I want my old contacts and missions back where I at least had the illusion of variety.

    Mac Issues

So you're saying the problem isn't with the game it's with something else the OP has installed on his Mac that interacts with the game. Something that was developed by Apple, the makers of Mac's.

Sounds like it might be just the AP AE.

Nope. I had Sprint and Ninja Run on. My tank and scrapper had Fiery Aura and that first Shadow thingy toggle power on as well. My MM's were able to summon their pets, my Emp was able to activate Healing Aura. All my powers were working.
