I've contemplated using my one free global rename to go with something else, but not sure that I won't end up with the same problem. And I have no idea how this particular bug kicked in but there were multiple threads about it a few issues back in the tech support channel, so I know I'm not the only one with the problem.
In game petitions have been utterly useless in trying to resolve the issue also.
I had a silly guess about the bug your describing but then I realized that for that idea to be feasible the system would have to recognize that the space between gavin and runeblade is the appropriate spot to separate the global into two names.
So now I'm just baffled. -
I want female versions of the Barbarian Ring Shoulder, Glove, and Belt pieces the males have.

@superdude and @super dude are two completely different global names that can be in use by different players at the same time. It's not a case of one being more correct.

Couldn't do it without some form of clandestine government support or even multinational support. Add in the support of a major religion and you'd be golden. Start off training orphans and move up to include genetic manipulation to breed better operatives. That way you'd have a cadre of personnel that have no official records.

2. Memory resources. I seem to recall the devs saying somewhere, sometime that the salvage storage was a burden on the server. Should everyone make their own SG because they can invite their alts, that would be a lot more stuff stashed.
In a shared SG, there is still a cap of 18 storage bins for salvage, regardless of how many are in the SG.
So, with 1 account using 18 bins, you take 150 people, all in a solo SG, those numbers get larger than if all 150 people were in the same SG also using 18 bins. It doesn't seem like that much, but each piece of salvage comes with certain details that must be contained in memory. That's a whole lot of zeroes and ones.
It doesn't matter if there is only 1 character in an SG or 150. The most salvage that can be stored is 540 items. That's a hair over 1/5th of what we used to be able to store.
Good News! You can drop your second account! I21 Freedom allows Premium accounts to join SG's and once in an SG those characters can send invites to your main account. You can save yourself $15 bucks a month and still use that second account to invite alts into your SG! It was Matt Miller who said this. He emphasised that SGs were TEAM content and that you will never be allowed to invite your own alts to your own SG without involving other people.

I lost one of my global names when the servers merged. It was the name of my first level 50 character, a name I had been using as global for years, that actual people knew me by, and which I had on all four EU servers. Then we merged and I lost it to an American player, because they got priority on global names simply by virtue of playing on the American servers. And yes, I'm still sore about that. By your suggestion I would then lose all the remaining versions of that character that I still have! How would that be fair at all?
But I got the name on Exalted, so at least there's a bright spot for me there. -

From what I understand if your subscription starts on (for example) Sept 15th, then you will get your points on the 15th of each following month that your account is active. Not sure how the reward merit is currently being awarded.

Being forced to go thru the same damn story arc every time you create a new character is what killed any desire I had to make villains, then praets, and now I see it happening with heroes. -
While I personally know my origins before I start creating a character I don't object to having it moved to the end. However I don't think the devs will ever let us change origins after we leave character creation simply because origins have powers attached to their selection.

I have yet to hear from any 'collector' on the forums throughout the years saying that a release of Slide through some other means would destroy the value of the unopened box sitting on their shelf.
The closest thing I said to anything remotely like that was that there is always a risk when collecting things that they will not increase in value.
