You do realize it is LIVE. It is not a BETA TEST NOW. If it needs more testing put the damn game back to TEST and off LIVE. What a load of codswallop.
Doesn't change the fact that this is still a live beta to try and fix the final game crashing bugs that never get caught on the test servers involving all subscribers before they launch the free/Premium accounts. So deal with it.

  4. Well that isn't a problem because

    1. The few people that actually lost names between the time they left and the next time their account was active gave up any claim to those names. It's under level 6 for I believe 90 days.

    2. It's been several years since the name purge script was run and the devs have had several reactivation weekends since then so those accounts the unclaimed names were originally freed on have been active several times since then whether they played or not.

    3. When Freedom launches all accounts will be active and no names will be able to be taken from someone whose subscription has lapsed.

    No that's way too much.

To fairly compensate players for downtime the devs would have to tabulate exactly how many hours the servers were down and then add up how much that time actually cost the players out of their subscription fees.

    30 days = 720 hours

Dividing the hours into the monthly $15 dollar subscription fee gets you just over .02 cents an hour, and since our devs are generous they'd most likely round it up to .03 cents an hour.

So the game would have to be offline for at least 83 hours just to be equivalent to 210 PP. That would be about three and a half straight days of server downtime.

Of course all the above only applies to unscheduled downtime. They scheduled the current downtimes and told us in advance they were happening so they wouldn't be compensated for as per the EULA.

Let me see... A typical German response to Freitags announcement would be:

You should compensate us for this... A double exp weekend would nice for us EU folks... We don't spend THAT MUCH money here.. This isn't winning you many customers...Other than the double exp weekend, some Paragon Points or something...

Gee, sounds JUST like the English speakers...

(sorry, I don't speak French, so, can't say for sure what Avatea told them)
No. It seems the German players are just asking for an ingame perk where the English speaking whiners are demanding financial restitution.

The funny part is after stating they want free time added to their accounts which would cost the company money, the whiners get mad when people point out that the down time that has occurred only cost the whiners a few pennies individually.

I also agree with this sentiment. I was just reiterating that it isn't necessary to delete a character just to check if a name is available.

Personally many of my character inspirations occur while I'm actually playing and chatting with friends in the game, so /friend is easier for me than logging out, then logging back in, then checking the name. Usually it goes like this ...

(In chat channel) OH! That gives me an idea for a character!
    /friend
"So-and-so does not exist or is not online"
(In chat channel) Brb. Gonna make a new alt.

But I can't tell if I can get a better name until after I delete the character.
    Wrong.

As has been pointed out earlier in the thread you can simply log in and do a /friend and

    Quote:
If the character does not exist, it will give you the message "Soandso does not exist or is not online". The "or is not online" is a lie. If they aren't online, they'll still be added to the friend list.
So you don't have to delete a character to check if a name is available.

Or were you poking fun at the idea with a Pink Floyd parody?

    1. The devs got rid of the old system entirely.

    2. They let players keep everything they earned under the old system and gave them new stuff for free under the new system.

    3. Maybe the players that supposedly "pounced" on you and "flamed" you are mature adults that don't feel the need to overreact and throw hissy-fits when the devs redesign the game.

If you want people to take your ideas seriously as opposed to a childish rant, then you should take the time to write your idea in a clear concise manner that is easy to understand. It's not the fault of anyone responding if they don't understand what you intended to say if you didn't explain yourself clearly because you were posting incoherently.

Doesn't matter. NCSoft isn't responsible for their inability to play the game more frequently. That's a personal problem they need to deal with on their own.

Sadly, the author has been placed in the unfortunate position of crafting a meandering and

In the meantime, the author wishes to renew his apologies for wasting so much of his

should you the reader have continued perusing these words to this point, it seems an
inescapable conclusion that some modicum of entertainment value has been derived from

more fulfilling and engaging form of entertainment - for which, the author would humbly
beg the privilege of recommending that the reader actually log onto the City of
Heroes/Villains(TM) game servers for an hour or more; such an activity would certainly
provide a more enriching and pleasing diversion for him or her (should the reader so
elect, they may insert the gender-designative term of their preference here, as the author
does not wish to give offense on any grounds aside from the unnaturally drawn-out length

    linkable storage

Partially for convenience, partially for aesthetics(could put a few bins around for looks and wall off the rest in another room) and partially to help organize stuff.

I like the idea as long as we are given the ability to choose which bins are linked. Many SG's allow leaders to use bins for personal storage, so we don't want just any one snatching stuff they aren't entitled to get.

This also applies to bin permissions. You have to be careful that the system doesn't get around the security features designed to keep unauthorized SG members from looting the bins.

  17. From what I've heard Origins used to have a lot more importance and determined what powers you could get and such before the game launched. So it's probably connected to why power set respecs won't be done.

  20. CRIS is a genetic condition. I actually studied to be. It was my MOS in the USN.
  21. Oh yeah, I forgot about our redname by the same moniker. I always think of the RedvsBlue character. In the future I'll try to remember to use TJ. Please forgive any slips due to my CRS. It gets worse as I get older.
  22. I appreciate the info but I know I won't remember it even tho I am also bookmarking your post and subbing to the thread to remind me how to do it. I suffer from chronic CRS Syndrome. Can't Remember Stuff.

Dispari you know this game has plenty of farmers that will want to farm those SO's for sale rather than use them on their own characters, and there will be just as many gotta-have-it-now players that will want to buy those SO's rather than earn them by running the trial themselves. The fact that they will outlevel them won't even cross their minds.
