While I am sympathetic to people with nut allergies because I love cashews, peanuts, pistachios, etc. I'm begging you, please, don't make me choose between you. You won't win.

However I'm more than willing to eat all the peanut butter cookies to protect you.

I've decided to keep the character. It was refreshing to play old style without all the perks I've earned. Tho my power tray felt distressingly empty.
  3. I've done a DfB with three people successfully. The fourth quit when he saw there were only 4 people on the team. Wasn't easy but we did it.

Sure they do. We just make them associate with us Yanks. Whether they like it or not.

Hmm..can you imagine how boring a perfect world would be????

If it were not for the bad times, we would never be able to savor, or even recognize, the good times in our lives...

So, downtimes are good for our souls

    Lisa.

    Lisa.
I prefer to look at these downtimes as if I'm waiting to open a present. So instead of getting frustrated I'm impatiently waiting to play with my new toys.

I'll save the irritation for when the servers are back up and I learn all I got was socks.

Our players from the Middle East (mostly active duty military that have computer/internet access) and Asian/Aussie players could make the same argument.

Whatever time they choose is going to impact someones prime time playing hours.

We can be more open with what we say as we have been there, done that, but, these youngsters probably know far more than us in certain things...I think it might have been our generation that was terrified to turn on one of those new fangled computers for fear it would explode or something silly like that

Anyways, telling people you don't care about their opinions seems...like something Lord Recluse would do

It is a perfectly fine thing to vent though. Cole knows I am not happy with the downtime either...but I cooked a wonderful breakfast, washed a ton of mismatched socks, and am now sitting at the computer about to read up on the Incarnate system since it seems we are finally to get a solo path

    Hugs.

    Lisa.
    I swear you don't look a day over 21.

<crosses fingers and hopes Lisa will send me a wonderful breakfast.>

I thought a middle of the road server was an appropriate test. I also conducted the test during the morning to mid afternoon hours in the US when there are fewer players online overall.

This is a terrible trend the last two months, and frankly I am starting to weigh my options.
So cancel your sub. It's not like it means anything since you'll still be able to play the game. The only difference is that you'll have less access to content and you won't get any free points to use in the store, so you'll be spending some if not more of your money on Paragon points. The company gets your money one way or the other.

I post very very rarely. Normally I'm content to let the rest of you deal with posting. But dammit, these guys are pissing me off an awful lot lately.

OMG! Your telling us they had the unmitigated gall to actually shut down for a regularly scheduled maintenance on top of doing a live publish at the same time!

How dare they do two things at once! You should cancel your subscription in protest.

I got the receipt via email, called them, and they had the refund issued within an hour of the charge having been made ( took 2 days for the refund to actually process through the banks...which is stupid, they can sure's hell pull out instantly. But that's on the banks, not Amazon ) and the debit card deleted from my account. I changed my password the instant I got home. ( Couldn't do that through my iPhone )
While the whole episode is an aggravation for me the only real pain in the pancake was that one of the third party vendors tried to resubmit the charges that Amazon cancelled which were made to them by the crook so they could get paid for their services, and I had to start another claim with the bank to block them again.
  16. I have to give props to Amazons people. They caught someone trying to make fraudulent charges on my credit card this past weekend and their quick action gave me enough time to notify my bank before the charges were even posted to my account and set up monitoring for any future attempts to track down the villain. I'll be getting my new cards in a few days.

I respectfully disagree on that server merge example Tyger. I believe regardless of which server is older, the server with the lowest current population is going to be the one that bites the bullet and has to accept getting name changes where conflicts arise.

Now in a hybrid business model where there are paying subscribers and free players I can see a company giving preferential treatment to the subscribers where naming conflicts arise.

And maybe they'll simply avoid all the headaches involved in this idea and never allow it.

Guess what I'm putting my money on.

That's kind of the point when you sell an account to someone: You sell it to someone who doesn't know any better.

And even if they sold the Master Account login/password they can still steal it back by contacting CS and claiming their account was hacked. Who is NCSoft more likely to believe? The person with all the original account information or the dumb schmuck who only knows the login and password and has just started changing the original owners information from a completely different IP address most likely located in another city/state or even another country.

And we haven't even addressed the topic of selling the same account information to multiple people at the same time.

    The Blue Room

They just didn't take it out. I think the Rikti Crash Site is still in the game as well as Galaxy City and the original Faultline, tho I could be wrong about that last one.

What we can't talk about is the specific correspondence between a player and the devs/gm's/CS. General discussions about policy are okay.

Edit: Even posting emails between players is against the rules. As I found out a few months ago.

No stay out of what the GM/CS said altogether. That's a clear violation of forum rules and will get the OP in trouble.

Keep your guesses to yourself in the future.
Which is what I said. You got an answer you don't want to accept and you aren't willing to say anything here because we might say the same thing CS told you.

I've worked in CS for many years in the past and have been told by a supervisor to answer with a standard pre-made response because there was no answer for some of the bizarre questions we'd get asked.
