Quote:Just noticed this after rereading the thread. For various reason I don't bother with beta.
However, there's a new wrinkle involved since we have gone to micro transactions. It's possible that there's a financial benefit to allowing us to try out new stuff before we buy.
So things aren't quite as simple as they used to be.
No, MT's have not changed anything. The devs still don't have to let you check out microtransactions before they go live. You can wait until they're released like everyone else, and check them out on the test servers after they are in the store but before you make a purchase on the live servers. -

Quote:So what? No one so far has claimed that it would be easy to do. They just want more options. One of the greatest things about this game is the flexibility of the costume creator, and ours is almost 8 years old. It's time for a complete makeover.Unfortunately, according to other posts I've read, adding more sections to the costume creator is difficult, and there's a limit on the number of "anchor points" that a costume can have, and we have already used most of that limit, so adding much more would at least require a large revamp of the system.
Personally I don't care how long it takes. 1, 2, 3 years whatever as long as it gets done. I think it's worth the investment of time and resources to do it right. -

/This. It can be applied to so many different things.
Glasses and monocle's should be separate.
Cigars andcigarettes should be separate.
Tiara's and headbands should be separate.
Adding more sections would give us so much more freedom in customization all over the body. -

Quote:Only problem there is that Rose's phone is in an alternate dimension and her Doctor is human and has no TARDIS.Eh, I avoid the dwarves and call Rose's phone.
And hope the Doctor gets me home in time for supper. On the day I left.
Of course it's possible that they got in touch with that dimensions Doctor and now are his companions. -
Not the old "Let me summon my own characters as NPC's" idea again. As others have said 1. it's way too complex. 2. We already have temp powers that summon powerful NPC's. and 3. Earning drops as if you were on a three man team but it all goes to one person? Are you nuts? You are playing SOLO. Drops should never be increased just because you are using a temp power to summon assistance. If anything they should be decreased because you need help to complete the missions.

Quote:That's only partly true. That information was leaked to ParagonWiki by a band of time traveling dwarves that had stolen the map of time from the Supreme Being.Kindly refer to the thread about the Staff Fighting set where it was revealed that ParagonWiki staff use time-travel to get information in advance.

Quote:I won't pretend to know where you get your information from but I know my source of information has never spoken to you.No and yes. All but one Winter Event started in the FALL. And all but one (the same one) started in December. The 2004 event actually started in January 2005.

Quote:I used to try to discourage team invites on my MM by charging 5 mil in my search comments just to join a team but stopped because too many people were willing to pay it, even after I doubled the amount.Just as an aside, anyone remember the olden days when people were charging for spots on the fortune teller mission so they could get that badge? I remember being told off by someone for letting them on my team for free, because it was worth lots of inf.

Quote:Not only to themselves but time and paragon points to RMT customers. How hard would it be for them to create a Free account load it up with PL'd characters then use a stolen CC to buy points and a years sub and sell it to some dumb schmuck stupid enough to give them another credit card number. My understanding of you post is that this shouldn't be done because RMTers will use stolen credit cards to gift time to themselves. How is that different from buying time with stolen credit cards?
Then steal the account back, change the password, and sell it again.
How many times do you think they could do this in a month starting with just one stolen card number before someone catches on and cancels the card.
There are parts of the world where this kind of thing is so rampant NCSoft won't even accept any CC charges from and force customers to put everything thru third parties to make purchases.
Oh an these thieves are smart enough not to use stolen CC numbers in the same game. They'll use CC numbers from WoW accounts to pay for stuff here and vice versa. Anything to make it more confusing to straighten out. -

Ooh. Sorry to hear that.
Uhm Since I see paypal has been mentioned I'll toss another idea out there. Do they sell prepaid credit/gift cards where your at? As a gift they have the advantage of being able to be reloaded and if lost/stolen/ or used fraudulently your friend is insured and will get his money back. Also they can't be used to for identity theft.

If he already has an account you can buy him a time card and he can use it to reactivate his account.

Quote:What he's referring to is a group of players getting together to grief people. STO had that problem right in the beginning with this same report spammer feature. Now it was never confirmed or denied but some people believed it was a group of players from EVE that were doing the griefing and abusing the auto silence feature with phony petitions. It took GM intervention to stop the abuse.Thats why you have responsible and sensible channel moderators that kick jerks that try to abuse the channel like that. I personally think the spamkillers global channel should be listed in a sticky post in the general discussions forum as a way of helping the community self-police the RMTers. It could become a City of Heroes version of the neighborhood watch.

No it isn't
Quote:The first time I used Beta, back when dual blades hit,
Quote:I didnt see ANY big notice about doing proper testing and reporting back to the devs. There was no big handy in game survey to fill out. Maybe there is now, I dont know.
Quote:Beta is, and should be, a place where people can look at the current new stuff, fiddle with it a bit, then give some sort of feedback. It should not be somewhere we go, unpaid, unthanked, to TEST a product we pay (sort of) for.
Every MMO uses Test and Beta severs to get stress testing of new content done and they always invite a group of players to try and break the content and find out where unexpected bugs and other problem are.
