And what exactly is the problem with that? If they didn't have VIP access in the first place they wouldn't have characters on Exalted that needed to be transferred.

Players dropping to Premium have no one to blame but themselves if they don't take the time and if necessary spend the money to transfer characters off of Exalted they want to continue playing before their sub expires.

    SG is calling!

    1) A convenient excuse.
    2) One or more people in the SG want to do something. Given the choice between playing with strangers and playing with people I actually like enough to invite to my SG, guess which one I pick.

I don't remember that ever being a documented change (but would not surprise me in the least to find out ANOTHER undocumented change).
No the truncated thing was apparently changed. See the below screenshots from Freedom.

The first shows 50 people spread over various maps blueside.

The same search of just Atlas Park shows 50 people. Neither list states it's truncated when it obviously is.

None of that is relevant to the OP's justification as to why the servers should be merged.

See. His complaint is that during peak playing hours there used to be almost 100 players online and now there are around 40.

My screenshots prove without any doubt that there are now more than 100 players online on Pinnacle during peak hours and more than 40 players online on Pinnacle during off peak hours in the middle of the week.

I don't need to get more accurate numbers because the very first search of each faction blows his argument out of the water.

Pinnacles population is larger and healthier than when he left and his demands for a server merge are laughable.
  5. Okay so now it's the correct day and time, 10:36 PM EST Saturday.

108 players unhidden to a Search. Half of whom are on the very faction the OP claims is dead and 125/80 players showing up in two of Pinnacles top global channels.

And even if you assume that everyone who is a member of Cozmic's Playground is also a member of Pinnbadges, the population of the global channels show as being higher than the number of players showing up Searching all three factions.

That means at least roughly 15-20% of Pinnacles population is /hidden from searches.

(I need someone whose good at math to confirm my rough guesstimate)

So once again Pinnacles not a dead server.

You can try to twist what people are telling you all you like. You are wrong. We aren't agreeing with you. The idea to allow RMT is bad. And finally NCSoft isn't going to allow it now no matter how much of a hissy fit you throw trying to argue otherwise.

See there's something you may not have noticed because it isn't visible in the thread but I'll let you in on the secret anyway. The devs ignore threads with this suggestion. All anyone accomplishes by arguing with their fellow forum members over something that will never happen is make themselves look foolish.

Exactly where did you get the delusion that it takes months to "earn" anything in this game?

Without power leveling players can get a character to the level cap in a few days.

Players can get virtually anything that gets sold on the market in random drops at any moment they are actively playing the game.

With very little effort on the market players can earn millions on the starting with nothing more than the inspiration they get from the the tutorial.

Players can easily earn their first million inf before they reach level 10 by paying attention to the NPC's they fight and selling the drops they get.

In addition to random drops and the market players can get what they want by trading in merits and AE tickets.

As to the rest of your question, what I'm saying is that the only way to effectively combat RMT is to remove everything from the game that RMTers could sell/trade.

It's too late for the devs to do that. They had the chance to do it when they were designing the IO system before it was released in Issue 9, but they didn't foresee that RMTers would flock to the game. We never had an RMT problem before I9.

It takes more than a brief sale of account restricted IO's to affect the AH. Most players don't buy them because they can't be sold or traded on the market. As long as IO recipes drop in the game, or can be bought with merits there will be a supply that will end up in the AH.

And as was explained before the only way IO sales on the Paragon Market could be used to combat RMT transactions would be to remove regular IO's from the AH and replace the, with the account restricted IO's on the market.

That would mean there would no longer be a constant supply of trade-able IO's in the game and the ones remaining would become priceless and the players that had them would charge/pay billions for them.

Just look at base salvage as an example. It has absolutely no purpose in the game anymore and yet there are people spending hundreds of millions on some of the items (Fa'lak Amulet, R'yleh's Rain) just so they can have a set.

You can disagree all you like but he's still right. RMTer's aren't going to play by the rules and limit themselves to one channel, and most players will delete an AD channel from their chat tabs.

I have a new idea anyway. CoH, Take the "gold" traders business away from them. Sell infuence/infamy on the Paragon Market for about the same price as the "gold" traders,

For all those who say it would ruin the market(WW/BM). You're probably the one's that have driven up the prices in the first place, by "playing" the market.
That idea is as bad as allowing RMTers to operate in the game. It turns the game into "pay to win" where only the players with the most money can afford to buy and sell stuff on the market.

And you are deluding yourself if you think the people that tell you this would ruin the market are all marketeers.

    Quote:
OR Put ALL IO except purples on the Paragon market.
That's fine with me since the IO's on the Paragon Market are bound to the purchasers account and can never be traded or sold to another player.

The only problem is doing so would make the current trade-able IO's even more valuable and their prices would skyrocket to the realms of the ultra rares currently selling for billions.

That would result in mass cancellations as pissed off players left the game because they can't afford the AH prices in game nor the real money prices it would cost to buy IO's from the Paragon Market.

67 players online and unhidden spread across three factions with at least 72 players unhidden in Pinnacles 2 most popular global channels.

The time? 2 am Eastern Standard.

So much for the server being dead.

Edit: Meh posted day early. That's what I get for sleeping days.

GvE was released with a DVD that was updated through Issue 7. It was released in September of 2006, well before NCSoft bought out Cryptic.

If you only bought City of Heroes or City of Villains (or if you bought both and didn't apply the new code to the existing account) you started with 8 slots. All players were granted 2 more slots with Issue 12's release, which was also when they started selling additional slots. That is also when they started awarding slots as part of the Veteran Rewards and they made those annual slot earinings retroactive.

NCSoft didn't buy out Cryptic until November 2007 and didn't fully merge the games until July 2008. After that, any purchase automatically got you both games or if you already had only one of them you now had both.
The two free slots given out in Issue 12 were not given to each server. They were two individual slots and we had to pick a server we wanted them on and unlock them. And once unlocked they couldn't be moved.

The game never had just 10 slots per server.

CoH/CoV were merged long before NCSoft's "official" date of merging when they grandfathered in all the inactive accounts that were created before the Good vs Evil Edition was launched.

That's exactly the kind of mercenary attitude towards a gaming world that kills immersion dead.
Anyone willing to buy the tokens in the first place has no concerns about immersion to begin with. To them it's just metagaming.

I just hope they set the price of the tokens high enough to discourage people from buying them like they were penny candy

The most the OP could have possibly purchased for that server was 26, not 28.
No that's not possible TeeJay. Coh started with 8 slots. CoV brought with it 4 additional slots bringing the total up to 12.

CoH and CoV were merged into the Good vs Evil Edition long before Issue 12 and every account was given 12 slots total regardless of whether or not they purchased both CoH or CoV.

No one ever had 10 slots.

I know this for a fact because my second account was created Feb 1, 2007 with an original copy of CoH I got for $5 bucks from Big Lots, and it started with 12 slots not 8 or 10. Issue 12 didn't start until May 2008.

Now I will concede that in my opinion the little mom and pop places do some great cooking but I've never been a huge fan of French cuisine, but that's due to my upbringing (Irish, German, Italian, Slovac, Pennsylvania Dutch) and isn't a crack against the quality of French food.

Now as to the Star Wars Burgers, I'll take the black burgers because I'm not prejudice. Damn white burgers always trying to keep the black burgers down.

You don't need a license to create a base. All it takes for a Premium account to be able to build a base is to earn/buy 2 Paragon Rewards.

Now if you are referring to unlocking the ability to pay base rent because you want access to certain items/features are gated behind the ability to pay rent, that is going to either cost you a subscription fee or you will have to invite a VIP into your SG.

As to the idea of selling pre-made bases. Why? You can get 300k prestige for free by inviting 15 SG filler alts into your Super Group which can be used to build a fully functional starter base for free.

Furthermore if you take the time to create and recruit only Praetorian SG Fillers you will get an additional 100k for each Praetorian you create to join your SG because the first SG a Praetorian character joins gets 100k prestige.

Don't be disappointed when you find out that the way your bike works in your imagination doesn't resemble or move the same way the devs create it for the game. If they bother creating ground vehicles at all.
