Quote:Please don't feign obtuseness. You know what you are asking for isn't a copy/paste/adjust procedure. How is, copy/paste/adjust animation time, a lot of work? The most complicated part, I imagine, would be putting in the different animations that come out of the barrel.
Quote:I would like to be able to pick any gun for any gun set.
I want my beam/elec blaster to hold a handgun instead of a full rifle.
This could also apply to a toon that's huge/strong enought to hold an assault rifle in one hand.
Using a pistol requires completely different body stance than a rifle. The devs will have to redo every single power. They will also have to move the location from where the power originates from. Otherwise you will have the weapon at one location and the power appearing at a completely different spot.
The same goes for firing an assault rifle one handed.
These issues are why when the devs finally did give us alternate selections to choose from they only did it for a handful of power sets. And due to the amount of work involved we are far more likely to see alternate animations included in new power sets rather than adding them to old ones. -
We'd all like alternate animations for all the power sets but because of the work involved it will be a long time before we see it done, if ever.

Quote:What? You mean people forced to play redside on the lowest pop server might simply use a server transfer or an alignment change token to go where they actually want to be?As someone who has mostly villains and also mostly solos...unsigned. Sorry.
You can't really force behavior on people, and if you try to manipulate them into it they'll just find workarounds for it.
Sadly the OP's ideas won't encourage teaming redside in the way he thinks. Instead we'd see Hero badgers forming groups and using alignment changing tokens to hop to redside and farm/power game for the badges then immediately hop back to blue side. -
Quote:That was the exploit in the CoP itself and the CoP was pulled October 11, 2006, but the IoP's were supposed to decay after 21 days and some weren't. The devs announced they were pulling the IoP's during the week of 12/4/06.If my understanding is correct, it wasn't the IoPs that were bugged, but the original Cathedral of Pain trial itself. There was apparently a bug that allowed you to get from level 1 to 50 in under an hour by repeating a "visit contact" mission.
Then on 3/10/08 the devs announced they were removing the last of the IoP's that were still being used in some SG's some 18+ months after they should have expired.

Quote:I think what he's trying to say is that he meant to sell it for 500 million but only got 500,000 because he didn't set his price to what he wanted to get for it.You should still be fine in that case, since as far as I know when you list something for sale on the market, it'll sell for the highest amount possible, even if you listed it for less than that. I sell pretty much everything for 1 inf these days because it's so much faster.
-
So my memory is correct. They were bugged and pulled and it's not a priority to fix.
-
Quote:From what I recall the SG buffs were supposed to decay after 27 days and they weren't so they were pulled, and either they haven't been able to fix them or it simply isn't a priority.I thought they were pulled because they were originally linked to PvP Base Raids, then when the CoP returned, you got a new self only buff. Has that buff gone away now? Been awhile since I ran a CoP.
Now my memory on the reason why they were pulled may be faulty but they were indeed pulled. -
Quote:The devs already tried this with the Cathedral of Pain Trial but had to pull the SG buffs because there were problems.Howdy all! Long term player of the game but haven't really found the Forums until recently
Anyway, to my suggestion(s) - hope I'm not overlapping with anyone else's.
While I'm loving the ramped up adding of content to the game I feel the Super Group side of the game has been a little neglected of late. A couple things I thought of are:
1. Super Group Buff
Some kind of ambient buff, not a huge one but inline with those gained from powers such as Mystic Fortune. A buff that applies, or maybe multiplies, for each member of a given SG on a team.
Quote:2. New Base Items
There's a lot of base items, but I think it would be nice if we got a few new skins and items, maybe drawn from Praetoria etc to improve our bases with.
Quote:3. Added Telepad Support
There's been a fair few zones added to the world that currently can't be connected to the bases' teleport systems - think it'd be nice if SG's could earn the right to teleport to pretty much any zone from the base. -
You guys are probably right. I'm more kicking myself because this is the first time I noticed it after 8 years.
-
-
This has probably been mentioned somewhere before but I was just watching Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow again and I noticed for the first time in the scene where Gwyneth Paltrow comes out of the theater at the beginning of the giant robot attack that Kings Row is prominently displayed on a couple of signs outside.

Quote:And that chart you linked states a $50 dollar purchase gets 3 reward tokens.$50 gets you 4,000 plus 600 bonus points.
Details on bulk purchases at Paragonwiki.com
Quote:"Purchasing the 4000pp package (4600/1200=3.8333~) awards three tokens, with some points left over toward a fourth token with next purchase." -
This already exists in the game. It's called the Cathedral of Pain Trial. Originally one of the rewards was Items of Power which gave SG members various buffs as long as they were in SG mode. The IoP's were pulled because they were bugged.

Quote:Well I imagine in a perfect world you would get a pop up window for the filter and you'd be able to select to filter out groups of drops.Again I ask, "How does the filter exclude only bad drops?" No one has explained this yet. Are you expecting a giant list of all possible drops and you uncheck all the ones you don't like? Corollary: as someone who likes SO drops because you can sell them for inf, have you considered that excluding even the less valuable ones is a much larger hit to your influence over time than the rare instances where you let your tray fill up but have no time at all to delete things yourself?
For example
o All SO's
o Magic SO's
o Natural SO's
o Mutation SO's
o Science SO's
o Technology SO's
And players just check the ones they want to auto delete.
Also there could be tabs on the pop up window for DO's, SO's, and IO recipe's so there wouldn't be a lot of clutter crammed into one window.
I don't think the filter would work well with IO Salvage because what's valuable and what's junk on the market is scattered between the common, uncommon, and rare designations. -
Can't resist a little teasing, but simply don't RP as a female. RP as a guy in women's clothing. Like Frank-n-furter in the Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Quote:I believe there is more wiggle room there because it's currently impossible to violate costume copyright on henchmen, but ultimately if petitioned the final decision will be made by a GM.So does that go for MM pets aswell? I have nin pets named after the mutant turtles, individualy there wouldnt be a problem since they are normal names as well (to some degree), but what as a whole? (for some reason i could not use Leonardo and Leonarda had to suffice. Guess there must be some protected name, is that so?)
Best advice was given earlier. If you have to ask then don't do it. -
Quote:I think I see what you were doing but wouldn't the range be 192 and up? I ask because being VIP's they'd still get the 12 free per server plus whatever they earned, and purchased (I'm referring to the slots that came with the purchase of old editions).I dropped the range because of vets and their varying number of character slots.
Course I could be wrong. -
I've been playing in a newly launched MMO and I am now sick to death of flippin cutscenes. Every single time you go to a contact you spend 10 minutes playing thru the damn cutscenes. Worse they linked it to their morality choices, and the written text doesn't match the voice acting so you have to constantly start over every time you find out your initial choice means something entirely different.
So I find myself agreeing with wanting to toggle cutscenes off. -
Quote:As Rod already pointed out here this already exists in the game as a Paragon Reward, and they are available to everyone that unlocks them regardless of what type of account they have.I already get a bundle of 5 Dam/Rech/proc enhancements on every new character I roll. You have to have preordered Going Rogue from a specific vendor, or have a certain reward level to get them, but something like what you're asking for already exists.
In case you're unfamiliar with them, each enhancement grants Damage and Recharge enhancement equal to an even level DO (16.7% to each) and has either a damage proc (One each of Psi, Smashing, Lethal and Energy) or a Knockdown proc. All the procs have a 10% chance to trigger and last until level 20. Once you train to 21, the procs stop functioning, but the enhancement values remain. At level 22, you can use SOs, which are far better, so you might as well replace these at that level anyways.
And as has already been mentioned, the low levels do go by fairly quickly, especially if you team a lot, so you don't really need more than these - And these enhancements are more of a bonus than a necessity.
The set is a Tier 7 reward and you need at least 21 reward token before you can unlock them.
Non subscribers get a free reward token for every 1200 Paragon Points they buy.
Once the reward is unlocked you will get that set automatically every time you create a new character. -
Quote:I'm neither for nor against a filter. I also haven't made any critical comments to the people that think some drops are garbage when I personally either use or sell everything I get. To each his own.Perfectly understandable. You also don't sound like the type to get flustered about the fact that we still lack a loot filter, even though the devs have known that we wanted one for three entire days.
But I will reiterate that I believe that if the devs were to add a drop filter, it would only act as an auto delete, and I will get a great amount of amusement watching the peanut gallery make their rage posts because they assumed the filter was more than an auto delete, and that the filter is bugged because their trays aren't filling up as fast. -
What side do you pick more than others?
Heroes
What play style do you prefer?
The one where you actually do missions and participate when teaming with others. I don't enjoy door sitting or hanging back while others do all the work.
What power set(s) do you favor?
The only power set I hate is Psychic Blast. I have no favorites among the others.
What zones do you like the most?
I like Croatoa best.
Do you usually play as a male or female (word of hatred) ''toon''?
Mixed. Depends entirely on character concept.
Views on Role Playing?
Moderate. I'm at best a casual RPer, and I've never taken it to the extremes some people do.
Servers?
I've alts on all servers. -

Quote:Hey there and howdy ya'll! I'm a bit of a returning player, trying some stuff and seeing how things are. I couldn't help but wonder a few things:
1. I was thinking of going up to VIP, maybe do it every other month or something but I'm a tad afraid of what I'd lose going back to premium etcetera (I have 4 Badges for the paragon rewards stuff, just wanted some opinions on the newer stuff added and whether it'll add more fun since I haven't seen many people on the Justice Server)
2. Some opinions over on Champs since I've been heavily wondering about community and FRIENDSHIP *rainbow* and possibly some roleplaying on both games, I'm around level 20 with my main dudes around on both games, just had to ask.
Going VIP for just a month will get you what you need to permanently unlock tells and global channels. and global channels are where you'll find bulk of player communities.
On Justice you'll want to join Justice United, and if you are interested in playing Tanks I strongly urge you to join TankHQ. They hold a regular event "Tanker Tuesdays" and cycle it thru a different server each week.
Another fantastic group of players are the members of the Mentor Project.
http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=212083
A group of helpful players that are spread across pretty much every server in the game.
