Base love has been ignored for so long that many in the base community have given up hope of seeing any requested improvements.
Tho I'll admit the new multi-beacon telepads is ray of hope. -

This was just back in October - November of 2011 during one of those live online web Q&A's they have. Whatever they're called.
They are dead set against making it easy for us to invite our own alts into SG's. It goes against their concept that SG'a are supposed to be multi-player content.
It sucks and it's a policy I seriously hope they change their minds on. -

but to enter the Midnighters Club you have to be in Steel Canyon and give the password to the Latin Student at the entrance.
Oh and if the OP isn't aware right next to the University in Steel Canyon is a Wentworth's, and Redside the University and Midnighters Club is in Cap, right next to the Black Market.
So the devs already made two locations in the game with convenient crafting/market access. -
Well, I wouldn't go so far as to say the easiest, for all I know the graphics could be very hard to get just right. I do think as an aura we'd get more use out of it. As a power we'd be stuck with it as one thing where an aura we could have it propelling a flier, a Dervish on the ground like the Tasmanian Devil, or bouncing around with SJ/Ninja/Beast run.

Been playing for almost 8 years now and I can't guess how many thousands of times I've seen half a dozen people in the same zone spamming they are looking for the same TF, and not one of them was willing to be leader and invite the others. I'd run some missions and come back 45 minutes later and the same people would still be there waiting for someone else to take the star.
I've seen frustrated players get sick of the spam and invite them to the TF team to help get them started and leave the TF, only to see the losers themselves quit the TF and start spamming again because none of them wanted the star.
I've also seen far too many pug trials fail to start or have people quit upon entering because the team wasn't maxed out. -

Rocket Boots ignite when using Fly
So why can't we have a variety of jet pack costume pieces that ignite when Fly or SJ is used?
Or a flying platform for that matter.
A Whirlwind/Tornado could be a Pathing Aura.
These things don't need to be powers. They can be costume pieces/auras that animate in conjunction with our existing travel powers. -
It depends. Some are semi-retired alts I lost interest in playing and moved off of one server to make room for new ideas. Some others like my Tanks have been created on various servers so I can join Tanker Tuesdays if I'm free on those nights. And some others are decent mid level alts I spread across the servers in case of unexpected server downtime.
And I'll admit a handful (less than 16) are name camping my global name. I haven't gotten around to leveling them up yet.
I just don't see the need to delete an established mid level or up characters. I have deleted lots of lowbies tho. -

The chart (our visual representation for the Standard Code Rant, or SCR) is there for everyone, yourself included, to get a smile and gets used when something is described as easy to do, or what made it jump to my mind here your phrase, "give us... a not so difficult to make set"I wish things weren't so difficult for the devs. We'd have so much more stuff in the game.

That said, I don't see why people DON'T diversify servers. I'm not shooting down the idea, since I wouldn't argue with more slots, but it's not that hard to get started on another server. Use it for retired characters. Use it for villains or praetorians. Have people you like playing with? Bring them over with you to kickstart a new SG with a new theme. Meet new people.
But that's just me. -

the limitations were due to the fact that the powers that were very highly requested, happened to also require a fixed flying pose and an attatched object, or an entire transform.

Steam Jump is just Jump Pack with a new back pack design. They aren't travel powers but travel power boosters and can be used to boost the main travel powers.
Personally I think the devs went the wrong way with these new travel powers. I think they should have done these things as costume recipes. The recipes could have been account bound like enhancements to prevent them from getting on the market and easily sold for 80-100 pts each.
We already have a dozen or so wings recipes, and maybe half a dozen boots recipes, along with combat/movement only auras. So why not sell recipes for:
Animated Jet pack
Various flying object
Skateboards, Roller Blades, Rocket Skates
Sure the new transformation powers would be the same but I think most players wouldn't think twice about buying dozens of relatively inexpensive costume recipes because:
a.) Thanks to currently existing costume recipes we are already used to the idea that costume recipes are one shot purchases that can't be reused once created on a single character. and
b.) We are obsessed with costume creation. (Just look a how many extra costume slots we can buy) We tend to go nuts over getting new costume items. -

Why not... give us... a not so difficult to make set that is requested, and would please many?
How?
Count the blast sets not yet incorporated into a MM primary [plenty to choose from].
[this can give you your two single targets and a cone or AoE]
Subtract the two upgrades [easy schmeasy].
that leaves four powers that would need to be made from scratchy scratch:
the three pet tiers...
and one wild card power to match the set.
match the numbers to other MM sets and voilĂ ! A new MM set for all to enjoy.
I'm not saying to scramble together a half -hearted set... but rather... "dont break your backs. we just want new pets."
I have brainstormed a few sets as examples of not-from-scratch-and-not-as-intense-as-whips-or-wolves, as im sure many other players have, and these are some sets i would love to see happen and dont think would be too difficult. organized like this:
SET NAME
-minion/pet basis, models/NPCs used as a base, then edited to differentiate.
-three blast powers.
-wild card power.
[upgrades are not described because they are basically a buff animation related to the set theme, plus pet costume changes and power upgrades.]
feel free to add your own that you think are doable, without painstaking work of whips or four legged rigs that the devs lovingly made for us [and are awesome but seriously, you dont have to do that again. XD]
ok here i go
SWAMP SUMMONING
- altered tuatha models
- toss stump, swamp water [like bile spray cone], hurl boulder
- Swamp Creature [enhance and transform a minion into a living swamp mass of plant and earth matter for a time increasing their max hp and dmg output] example: serum for mercs
PIRATES
- um... pirates.
- pistol, sword cone or net throw, canon
- Treasure Raid - [a series of explosions in a wide targeted area reduce enemy to hit and your pirates raid them with increased dmg and rech] example: ninjas... sorta...
WIND SUMMONING
- storm elementals, dust devils
- three wind blast powers, one could be similar to scirocco's desert winds. a single target, a cone, and a targeted AoE
- a pbAoE windstorm that increases pet dmg resistance and to-hit, example: beast fortify pack
ARBOREANS
- razorvine, rosethorn
- thorn darts, plant immob, fling thorns
- carrion creepers as wild card power, example: hell on earth/soul extraction -ish
MULTIPLICITY
- doppelganger/clones [combo of meelee like street justice and maybe psi for the ranged lt/boss pets?]
- psi blast [you have a telepathic link to your clones :P]
- heal clone, + max HP +regen + recov, example: repair robots
CIRCUS/CLOWNS
-carnie based, six different looking clown/carnival/circus people. clown, strong man, feathery-showgirl-lady, tightrope walkers/acrobats
-ring toss? fire breath? not illusion based. whip would have made more sense here :P
-Main Event - Elephant temp summon with a sonic cone and smashing dmg, example: pet summon like soul extraction. or a bunch of clowns come out of a tiny car... example: thugs gang war
ok done. i think these sets could happen, be awesome and me more than half-hearted compiled sets [and be awesome quality like everything else the lovely devs give us] and wont require an uber hard work at the same time. a few new animations, ya, but not as intense as whips with giant noisy demons or wolves, wolves, and more wolves.
i think a lot of players would be happy, and heck, sell them. more minions, less trouble, happy campers everywhere.
2. Learn to use the search tool before posting. There are plenty of threads explaining what the devs have told us as to why they aren't doing MM pet customization.

Guess which one is most likely to be read, the one that has been flagged and always remains on the first page near the top of the suggestion forums, or the occasional random ones that get posted and quickly drop off never to be seen again. -
You should all be thrilled to learn that all the Henchmen in the soon to be released Beast Master MM set (or whatever it's called) are females.
What? Why are you still complaining? You never specified they had to be HUMAN female henchmen. -

This shows when you were awarded points. It has to the best of my knowledge never been wrong. The dates that points actually award has often been wrong, but they have always been correctly dated on that page, across many people I've asked (around a hundred by this point, maybe more).
Now keeping track is a simple matter of checking my point total the day before the free points are due and not buying anything until after the stipend is awarded. If I want to buy more points I do it after I get the stipend so I don't get confused again. -

So while it's very possible we may see some of these ideas in the future, they'll most likely have the same restrictions as Rocket Board, Flying Carpet, and Coyote. -

These would make more sense as individual purchaseable powers, but they could also be expanded into pools with a couple more powers added.

-A fly based power with a tornado, dust devil or whirlwind animation tied in. to make it combat, add a kb or minor +def and minor -tohit debuff like hover+hurricane. no new power/emote animations needed. NOT AFFECT SELF bc it's basically fly with a special aura/path aura.
pool expansion? - updraft [similar to air superiority effect wise, knock up and smashing dmg. has a gusting upward animation.]
"Motor-Board"
-basically the slide power with a motorized skateboard model attatched, or heck even just a skateboard[ish]. with spherical wheels to acocmodate the sideways traveling. have a -fly/-jump built in. WHAM, dont need to detoggle powers and make an affect only. no new power/emote animations needed.
"LargeEagle/Condor/FoxBat/Mini-dragon/GiantButterfly/GiantDragonfly Transform"
-would be a toggle, affect only, transform - LIKE THE NEW COYOTE POWER[best new travel power yet!]. would have an auto fly, like Kheld Squiddies, constant flapping when stationary, wings out when soaring forward, backwards flapping. we have wings, potentially a bird model from the attack hawk power coming. can be done maybe!
ok that's all i have for now.any other not-so-farfetched ideas or ways to improve these? [i.e. NOT riding animals or free players, and not vehicles b/c that has been explained as not do-able many times. XD] thanks for reading!
Uhm just checking but you do realize that none of the new travel powers that have been added allow the use of any other powers while they are on right? -

It... is. It's far superior to Sprint alone. You don't get SS nor SJ by default, you have to spend power picks on them.
I did like the idea of an additional option for a purely cosmetic toggle, though. -
Why does there have to be an upper limit at all? If someone is willing to spend hundreds of dollars to buy slots on one server, who are we to say no? It doesn't affect our enjoyment of the game., and the game makes more money.
And if some dingus is stupid enough to put all his eggs in one basket, it'll give us something to laugh at when his server goes down and he comes here to ragepost.
On the other hand I suppose that it's possible that some nefarious players will use this as an opportunity to name camp all the "good" names on a server and then sell the names to other players and/or try to use it as proof that the devs should get rid of our unique naming policy. -
Yes we all want this. However I think part of the problem for why we don't have them is that it would really tax bases and cause serious lag issues.
A lot of base builders know the more animated items added to bases, heck even bookcases cause problems, the more lag they cause. -

I find that one of the biggest mistakes with Ninja Run was to attach stats to it. This made it impractical to run all the time, because then it had to have a cost and be mutually exclusive with a whole bunch of travel powers. I would not miss the extra movement if I could just use it all the time.
Buy and use the new Coyote travel power. Then your werewolf can shift into full doggie mode to run around and shift back into werewolf form to fight.
As to the OP's complaint.
1. Working as intended
2. Do some research before impulse buying. People are more than happy to answer your questions.
3. Beast Run like Ninja Run serve two purposes.
a.) Thematic and
b.) They are the poor man's travel powers for players that don't want to burn a power choice and slot on a real travel power. They are better than Sprint/Swift/Hurdle but not as good as SS or SJ.
The only real shame about the OP buying Beast Run yesterday without consulting anyone about how it worked, is that had he asked and waited for our replies he could have bought it today when it went on sale for 375pp as opposed to the 500pp it normally sells for. -
