and that explains how i was able to use it to access this site until friday afternoon how?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I didn't say it does, but as far as I know, the only changes to the forums have been some pruning of old threads, and replacing a faulty piece of hardware over the weekend. Whilst that COULD have caused your issue, it's far more likely it's down to a change at Opera's end.

Which version of Opera Mini are you using? Have you upgraded to 4.2 yet? Have you tried downgrading to 4.1 if so?

I had a long post about hypocrisy written out, but I just can't be bothered, so I'll just leave it with an

    Okay! Will do. Cheers!

Actually... I only did it once, in Pocket D 2 when the ski run was deserted. I'm not a TOTAL swine.

So, how many of you have tried skiing UP the advanced run yet? It's much fun!

And bloody annoying when you bump into someone and the game decides to throw you to the side, screwing up your careful planning

That's why you jump OVER them!

That way, you get a slot for SG's that you only get when you're IN an SG

    [/ QUOTE ]

No, but only because it's just an extra costume slot. It costs nothing to make an SG, so you get to level 10, and you make yourself an SG, and you get an extra costume slot. They might as well just hand out a slot at level 10. It would use fewer resources.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The point is that's it's a limited slot. Sure, for 1 man SG's it's another slot, but for people actually in full SG's, it's not. It's merely a slot that is for the SG costume only, but they can choose to use it or not. It should use prestige to set it up and change, and any minor customisations made at the character level would cost inf.

    SG Tailor

I would much rather have a standalone SG mode only costume slot, fully optional to actually USE, that doesn't interfere with your regular costume slots but gets set by the SG leader. Possibly with settable options to certain allow parts of it to be changed...

That way, you get a slot for SG's that you only get when you're IN an SG, but you can decide if you want to use it or not when in SG mode. Everyone wins then.

See, I knew the big man would know the answer.

I didn't even know data to Opera Mini was handled that way. Thanks.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Heh, thanks. Skyfire does it the same way actually, but differs from Opera Mini in that it's a proper application with full access to the device hardware, unlike Opera Mini, so has full support for Flash etc too.

Personally though, I prefer Opera Mobile 9.5...
  8. Well, you COULD raise a ticket, but don't expect support to be able to do a lot. The problem with Opera Mini is that it's a java based browser, and all pages are pre-rendered at Opera's offices before being sent to your device. Odd's are the problem is at Opera's end and that NC will be able to do little to help.

You *could* try contacting Opera though...
  9. I'd also like a new sprint temp power that works a bit like noob sli... uh... Prestige Power Slide, Ski's! Straps a pair of ski's on your feet and you slide around.

Caveat: It's only enabled in the ski chalet area.

(As a side point, interesting to see what CO does about this. Jack Emmett was massively against Secret IDs, but he's making a game based on an RPG which had specific rules for handling how your secret ID affected your heroic life. Personally, I suspect that's one of the aspects of the RPG that will be quietly dropped.)

I did fear about RP in Champions until I heard they have designed Millennium City to have specific places for Heroes to gather, RP and socialise, that was a quote not from Jack but from one of the Devs responsible for siad design who was and is a big-time fan of the boardgame. Damned if I can find the dev blog quote though.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'll believe that when I see it. Millennium City isn't even in the beta yet!
  11. Which platform are you using Opera Mini on? I used to use it on Windows Mobile, but since Opera 9.5 became available (even in beta), I switched to that as it's MUCH better.

We had issues with a peer outside of our network that was part of the routing for a good portion of our player base this weekend. We've removed this peer from our routing options until they restore stability within their network.

Thanks for the update GR. It's a pity it took so long to identify the problem, but that can't usually be helped when there are third parties involved.
  13. There's also the misconception that setting your difficulty to "Invincible" is just... better. Pff to that, I say! It's all just a false economy. Fighting higher mobs just means slower XPPM, and a far higher ratio of deaths, which further slows XPPM due to debt...

    Winter Event?

You guys REALLY should check the CoH website more often.
  15. Nope, it seems random as far as I know, but for some people, WB just kills the game. Personally, I find WB a waste of time and stopped using it a long time ago. The hacked uxtheme.dll method works way better as it doesn't take extra resources.
  16. Nope, sorry. It's long been known that COH and WindowsBlinds don't work well together.

Image linking is disabled on the forum, for good reason too. You'll have to change the tags to url ones instead.

  20. Personally, I think the WW teleporter would be better off being changed to a discount on WW fee's. The teleport is pretty useless really...
  21. Oooh! Congratulation's Jedi!! Well done mate.
  22. It's been suggested many times. The general consensus is that such a feature would very rapidly result in the death of the EU servers.

I'm getting a problem now where my copy of CoX might be unplayable on my PC. And it works fine on my laptop.
    I'm assuming it came shortly after i13;

    FATAL ERROR

    File: bin/clientmessages-en.bin
Last Author/Status: Source control not available

    Could not load bin/clientmessages-en.bin

Really worried me when it came up. never seen anything like it. Any advise? =/

    [/ QUOTE ]

If it's the error I think it is, it's caused by corrupted datetime information on your City of Heroes game folder. Check your folder properties and see if the datetime is messed up.

Assuming it is, the easiest way to fix it is to rename your folder, make a new and empty folder names as the old one and then move all the files and sub folders from the old folder into the new one.

Alternatively, track down a utility which can change the datetime of files and folders.
