yep, it worked with opera ! success !!!!

    [/ QUOTE ]

Awesome news! Glad you got it working and welcome to the game! Don't be afraid to ask question, now.. MOST of us don't bite... Well, not unless you ask nicely!
  2. It's working fine for me, running IE7 in XP at work. Perhaps it the browser he's using? Try a different one maybe?

    client problem

Hard to believe or not, it's still around... Problem is, it's very difficult to repeat as it appears seemingly at random.
  4. [ QUOTE ]
have you ever crossed it with jump pack?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yes. 30 second speed boost.. Whoo!

It's still slower than being slotted.

    Editing for your edit:

    [ QUOTE ]

plus as stated in another thread, you have ourboroso tp, base tp, gather the team and mission tp.....i don't think i need to worry about speed anytime soon as i can easy skip areas to get to where needed.....if it was stamina well that be a different matter

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ourobouros - Gotta be level 25
Base TP - Gotta be in an SG in your lowbie toon
Pocket D TP - Gotta buy it
Assemble the team - Doesn't get YOU to the mission, does it?
Mission TP - Gotta buy it

Travel powers at level 6 - Really useful for people, especially those who don't LIKE flying so don't want the jetpack!
  5. [ QUOTE ]
i can't see the advantage you really get when you can get Temporary 30 Day Jetpack , you could agrue that you got to pay for this and powers are free, but if i get this i don't lose 2 power slot for travel

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yes, and that's the advantage. You're saving on a power pick which you can use for a combat power instead. That's definitely an advantage, especially as the jetpacks you can get, even the pay for one, are un-slottable, so are stuck at base speeds.

Posi himself confirms, no more prerequisites for tier 3 travel pool powers.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Oooh, slightly more interesting so. It'd be fairly useful to some of my flyers and TPers in that form alright, freeing up a power choice.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Indeed! Some might argue that this goes against the vein of vet powers, which are to give you something nice, but that doesn't give you an advantage in the game. Well, I suppose this IS true BUT, I feel that a 5 year milestone is DESERVING of something that gives you an advantage, even if it's small, and I don't see that one exception to this rule will set any precedents either.
  7. [ QUOTE ]
I hate to rain on everyones parade about dropping a power, but whilst it sayss that the travel powers open up at level 6..

As it stands the descriptions still state that eg. for fly you must allready posess hover or air superiority.

There is a pretty decent (IMO, extremely likely, for balance reasons) probabiity this will continue.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Sorry, but you're wrong. From my earlier post...

    [ QUOTE ]

    Bit more from Positron...

    [ QUOTE ]

Actually, it means you can SKIP taking the first or second power in the Travel Power Pools and, at level 6, pick the travel power immediately. No pre-requisites.

Yes, but if I read the Vet reward correctly, when you get the 60-month badge, they give you ANOTHER 5 for free, on the spot.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Think it's just 1 character slot and 5 merits?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Correct. From the link...

    [ QUOTE ]

    (1) Additional Character Slot: This reward is granted annually to each player that has been part of our Veteran Rewards Program. Months: 12, 24, 36, 48, 60 should all reflect this value.

    5 Merit Rewards

    [/ QUOTE ]

1 slot and 5 merits. Not 5 slots. Shadowe is no longer wise.

    80.4mb Download?

    [ QUOTE ]
well on the US they got this Live Update Tomorrow-- All Servers! and patch notice will come later soooo

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Hmm... How curious...

    client problem

99.9999% of the time that this happens, it's because you ran the client downloader again, rather than the game launcher. I'm not saying this is your fault, mind; there's a REALLY old installer bug where sometimes it doesn't create the right shortcut properly.

You shouldn't NEED to redownload though... The game should still be there, in the original install folder; you just been to browse to it in Explorer and make a shortcut to the Cohupdater.eu.exe file.

As for being kicked; that's just the regular announced maintenance period.

    80.4mb Download?

I noticed this patch on test when I ran it last week and wondered about it then. A patch of such size would almost certainly have either fixed or new graphics, geometry or audio assets inside it, yet nothing indicated in the patch notes on the test server...

What's the build number, guys? Then we can see which patch notes it relates too...

also Superleap?? is time becoming a travel power too

    Oh Boy!

    That's Quantum Leap, you noodle!

  14. See? I *told* you lot that the 5 year vet reward would be a good one!
  15. People will play with the shiny's no matter what. What DOES matter is, after the shine has worn off, are you left holding a brown whiffy thing? CoH, at least, manages to still hold some lustre, even after 4 years (for me).

Want to make a Fire Blaster who comes from the sun and burns with flaming energy? Going to have to level up to 30 before you can burn like that! A dark whisping shadow /DA scrapper/brute/stalker with glowing red eyes? 30 again.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Have you been keeping an eye on Ranpu Tenrai and Honoo Kurai versions of Eleven Z?

Or is this just some rather freaky coincidence that you have closely described two of my toons?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Actually, I think she's describing a friend of ours, Solar_Blitz; the character of whom comes from the sun and has been around since at least mid 2005...
  17. Isn't the time capsule in that memorial meant to have been opened by now, anyway?
  18. [ QUOTE ]
yes, agreed - sorry FFM, was editing my post as you replied to state about the 5 year reward

    [/ QUOTE ]

Tell you what.. If the 5 year vet rewards sucks, *I'll* complain along with you!
  19. [ QUOTE ]
Whilst i agree with FFM's post above. 57 months, in my humble opinion should be a huuuuuge thank you - after all its only 3 months shy of 5 years!

    [/ QUOTE ]

They probably WILL grant a considerably more special reward for the 5 year one. 3 months shy of 5 years isn't exactly a milestone point, is it? The anniversary, on the other hand...
  20. [ QUOTE ]
your basic premise is borked. Vet rewards are all about keeping players in the game and the Devs have sadly run right out of ideas...

    [/ QUOTE ]

Sorry Scarlet, but you're the one who's basic premise is borked. The ONLY stated purpose for Vet rewards has ALWAYS been a "Thank you for supporting us" thing. Incredibly slightly increased incentive to keep subbing is a minor side effect, but it's ALWAYS been about saying thanks.

You can think differently however much you want, everyone is entitled to their opinion afterall; but that won't alter the fact that you're completely and totally wrong.
  21. Well... We shall see who's right.

It's true what they say.... Give someone something for free, and they'll STILL complain about it!

[/ QUOTE ]wow all i did was ask a simple question on where he got his info from..i did not complain about nothing yet.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Sorry, didn't mean you.. Blame the quick reply function.
  23. It's true what they say.... Give someone something for free, and they'll STILL complain about it!

It's better than the 45 month reward, at least!
  24. [ QUOTE ]
As does most of the PVP zones if I remember correctly.

    [/ QUOTE ]

There are far more RP toons at level 15 than there are at level 40+.
  25. [ QUOTE ]
What about the PvP zone which is the temporal reflection of atlas city (Rescule's Victory I think it's called) using that as somesort of sudden unexplained happening..

    [/ QUOTE ]

Level restriction precludes 99% of RP characters from attending.
