I joined a 6 player sewer team over the weekend and it took me less than one hour to hit level 5 once I hit atlas park after making my character and I didn't even do the tutorial.
I can hit level 5 just with street sweeping in WAY less than an hour... -

What browser are you using? Someone made a decent Firefox CSS file which improves the blue colours used on the site, which I then nicked and tweaked for my Opera browser. The actual, official colours are indeed horrible, and make it fairly difficult to read.

My work internet connection got changed a little while ago, doesn't route though Finland over the Intranet anymore, it's handled locally now. I still get some timeouts though, not to mention the silly boards constantly logging me off when I access from a different PC, or threads getting marked read on their own, or clicking the "Last read post" button taking me to a post I read 2 days before... -

I pretty much exclusively play female toons. Aesthetically, the costume options, animations and looks are generally far better (two examples that spring to mind: The male run animation is frankly awful, and they still don't have a decent long hair option for male characters, along the lines of the lengths you can get female hair to.) In rp terms, I kept getting accused of being female until I actually mentioned I was male/posted on the forums with this name admitting the characters were mine (pre-totalcat.)
To be fair, it's more an aesthetic choice than a psychosocial one. I don't think "must only create female characters," it just kind of happens.

I don't feel quite as at home as I used to on the new boards, and no longer read or post anywhere near as much as I did. I don't think it's the larger community though; it's the horrible colour scheme, and the crappy vBulletin software that seems more buggy than UBB was!

My main, Tiger White, has faced many moral dilemmas in her past, and she'd side with Professor X on this issue. Plus, being somewhat impulsive, and SOMETIMES has a similar view on things as Wolverine (she once slaughtered 100's of Council soldiers in a big RP plot after a very close friend was killed), I wouldn't give Facade's chances much on making it out of the Prof's office with his head still on his shoulders.
She's also somewhat overpowered, like Facade is (as Ravenswing will no doubt confirm! ), and I've been accused of making her a Mary Sue in the past when the angst levels were getting silly, so I tend to keep her WELL away from any plot these days.

Dunno about the US, but the UK servers have been back and fully operational for about half an hour now.

I was going to poke a little fun at first, seeing as I've had H1N1 and whilst it was annoying, it wasn't really any worse than normal flu. Then I read Posi also has suspected bronchitis and changed my mind.
H1N1 isn't what makes you really sick, having something ELSE at the same time does. Get well soon Posi (and the others)! And keep warm! -
Are you attempting to run CoH within a system folder, such as \Program Files\? If so, do not, as it will NOT work. In Windows 7, Program Files is sandboxed. Any downloads a program installed in there tries will go to a virtual folder, and the game will not be able to access it properly, especially after closing and program.
Install it elsewhere and it'll work fine. -

However if i zone somewhere and then visit WW again without logging off, the chance of "lost connection to server" message pops up forcing me to relog is VERY high, think like 99 times out of 100 it happens.
I'll quite often get a little vertical line appearing in my AH slots when trying to drop things in there.. When that happens, I'll have to put it back in my tray and try again as it won't accept it... I guess, lagged off the AH server.
