Quote:Already using that!there's likely to be state orphanages though for those who lost their parents due to the Devouring Earth/Terrorists and other such circumstances.
Kinetite was brought up at a state orphanage, so has Cole propaganda drummed in to her, even though she joined the resistance.

They really should have gotten one ready for GR launch... We have one for Primal Earth, after all!! Sure, this info isn't needed for straight gamers, but this is a roleplay game too!
-
Hmm... Some of that directly contradicts the mission text at the end of the final Warden arc...
-
One thing I've not seen yet (maybe my search-fu is weak?) is a timeline of events in Praetoria. How long ago were the Hamidon Wars? What's the current status of them? How much of the rest of the world survived the nuclear fires?
-
They DO show on the map, at least, the camera's certainly do. Quite prominently too!

Quote:I'm with Z. I love Praetoria, the morality missions, the mobs, the new powersets, the GORGEOUS visuals. But the end problems are a little frustrating, especially as Ghouls have such a long aggro range that you usually end up fighting 2 groups at once. I've been forced to run for it more now than I ever have before...Looks like I'm going to be in the minority on this but I enjoy soloing in Praetoria. To me the content was challenging but not insurmountable. I have felt this was a nice change from the rest of the game where the devs made everything far too easy and as a result boring.
I do however respect the opinions of those who aren't pleased, and I hope you don't give up on this. -
Quote:FEEL more solo based? I did one last night that explicitly FORCED me to solo! It told me I could NOT take any team members at ALL It was a solo ONLY mission.Wow, you constructive soul. I mean, this is just the most startling and incisive comment I have ever read.
On topic, the Pretoria missions to feel more solo based and the volume of mez effects so early in the game is always off putting, the vazlilock are a prime example of this. -
Lack of end mitigation is the big kicker for me. With Stamina not being available until level 20, the END of Praetorian content, all there is, is insps and endrec enhancements; which at TO and DO levels, suck.

Quote:You do know that, as far as GR is concerned, it's the Loyalists who are the REAL evil?Interesting Rotten very interesting. I have rl issues with GR so I doubt I will have any praetorians but if I do, they will be Loyalist. As I don't support terrorism in any disguise. I have been given GR as a late birthday gift from the wife. I am glad it offers 4 new Powersets, Several new costume sets, some quality of life game improvements side switching tip missions and 1 month of playtime. So as least for me it offers some addtional things I like and will use. There is no real hero path to follow
in my opinion that is the big key statement here and not subject to debate. so that said:
My Praetorian is a reroll of Spec Op's Sable as a Loyalist Powers Division Powers/Responsiblity arc PPD. Sable's gun bunny rp story easily fits in.
Valor
Hoping for GR success.I'll draw a parallel for you.
Nazi occupied France, World War 2. The Loyalists are the occupation forces and the collaborators. The resistance are, well, the French Resistance! -
Show's all you know! I'm following the main story line with this one, so she's one of 4 possible sides.
Loyalist - Power Hungry, will step on anyone and everyone for power
Loyalist - Wants to genuinely help people within the confines of the law
Rebel - Ricochet's route
Rebel - Won't take Ricochet's route
Which she is, is up to RP to reveal. -
-
I'm not telling anyone where Kinetite's loyalties lie. Y'all are just gonna have to figure that one out in RP.
-
Last night Kinetite graced Studio 55 for a while. So far, she seems like she might be the snarky type but we'll have to see how things develop.
There was some interesting chattage there last night, and some fun poking at the godawfully dressed MM of CB's who's name I totally can't remember right now. Then, alas, I had to leave due to most amazingly painful toothache.

Quote:Hey, if you want to spend 3/4 of your entire RP time explaining that you're not really a Kheldian, but in fact you're a necromancer (who btw, generally are known for raising the dead, not shapeshifting), knock yourself out."I thought you were a necromancer?"
"I am."
"Then why did you just turn into a giant flying squid?"
"You know, I'm not sure. I'm always trying for 'big, hairy bat', but all I keep getting is this."
YMMV.
But don't expect anyone to take much notice. -
Play them as you like, but don't be expecting people to know they're not Kheldians until you've explained it all in painstaking detail.
That would get old fast, REALLY fast. -

Never, in all the foreign purchases I've made online, for game subscriptions and many other things, EVER, have I come across a payment system as stupidly restrictive as NC Softs. It's been complained about time and time again from the EU side for YEARS, and still they do nothing to even attempt to make it easier.
Never before have I seen any company anywhere make it so damned hard to to give them money. -
That directly contracticts well known canon though, and isn't likely to be accepted by most RPers. You can build on canon fine, you can make up your own stuff where there is no canon, but directly contracticting canon? That should be a no no by anyone's books.
-
The worst part about this and NC Softs STUPID billing system, is that it's impossible to buy a serial code for someone else, too; so you can't even send the money to a friend in the UK and get them to buy it for you.
The whole situation is moronic, and NEEDS to be fixed.
How about Steam? CoH is on Steam, is the GR expansion on there?
EDIT: I think your only option is finding someone in the UK you trust enough with your PlayNC account details to do it for you, and you send them the cash. That's a whole lot of trust though... -
With regards to Kheldians, if you're going to use that AT to represent something else entirely, you better make sure everyone around you KNOWS that, or people will just presume you're a Kheldian.
IMO, probably not worth the aggravation as there's always some nurk who doesn't read BIO descriptions or refuses to accept OOC remarks explaining the difference. TBH, I'd use one of the other AT's for the purpose; probably an en/en blaster.
As for "crossing the line", I think people should be allowed to RP anything they want, BUT, some things should never be RPd in a public place. -
Well... Other than WELCOME BACK! there's really only one thing I can say here...
Are you my mummy? -
OK, my turn with my main, Tiger White (Ellie).
- Where does your character get his or her laundry done?
- In a philosophical discussion of death, how would your character describe the perfect death?
- What is your character's favorite food or drink? What food or drink do they absolutely hate?
Favourite Drink: Baileys
Worst Food: American bacon (seriously, urgh!)
Worst Drink: Root beer (more urgh!)- Describe your character's personal bedroom. Is it in your supergroup's base or somewhere else
It's a large space with a huge circular bed with room for a dozen people and is located in the top floor of main part of her "tower home" (think 2 floor beach house with an odd "mage tower" poking out of the middle), which is on a tropical island somewhere off the west coast of USA, in the rough vicinity of Hawaii.
- How would your character's father describe him or her?
- Would the description be any different coming from his or her mother?
- If you (the player) were to meet the character, what would you most DISLIKE about the character, from a personality standpoint. (Do NOT think of what you don't like about limitations on pwoersets...think personality)
She also fun loving, caring, brave, strong, has authority issues, is generous, intelligent, witty (with a dirty sense of humour) and generally a great person. I'd love her to bits! The only thing I don't like about her is her attitude to men.

((The following appears as an editorial piece on page 15 of today's Paragon Times))
British Meta's Out of Control?
It seems our friends in Europe are having a little trouble with their home grown metahumans. Reports of a simple mugging incident gone wrong have recently come across the newswire where reportedly an unknown metahuman interrupted the incident and then proceeded to beat the hapless mugger, a Superadine addict by the name of Thomas Malone, into a bloody pulp.
Miss Jacqueline Peterson, the victim of the mugging, reported that her unknown rescuer, a woman, appeared out of no where and tore in to her attacker after he charged at her. What followed left Miss Peterson physically sick and she's currently being treated for shock in a nearby hospital.
Mr Malone, a known petty criminal with a long record of minor muggings, is reported to be in a stable condition after rescue workers extracted him from a streetside trashcan, most of the bones in his arms and legs literally pulverised and with several deep lacerations to his torse. Only his superadine enhanced physique saved him from much more serious injury, possibly even death.
This reporter has to ask, just what is the British government doing to ensure that such over the top vigilantism is kept firmly under control, and suggests that maybe they should look at Paragon City as a fine example of how to control such individuals. -
Cara will be in a short red dress inlaid with red glitter so that she sparkles, with matching red shoes and such. She's growing up fast now and isn't quite that same cheeky tearaway she once was so Ryan doesn't have to worry TOO much about what she might be getting up to with various male NV members when the chaperones aren't looking.
