What's THAT got to do with absolutely anything whatsoever? I've never listed to that radio show, I know nobody who DOES listen to that radio show. Most folks I know tend to have their own music collection playing.

So you understand that it can be really annoying, but it's OK as long as you're doing it "just before" you enter the mission? How do you define "just before"? Considering it can take half an hour to get a BAF team going (on Union), and that's half an hour of "just before" where people are spamming off powers and random buffs...

Gamers have dozens of places they can gather for the forming of teams, even co-op places there are numerous options. Roleplayers have ONE co-op social area they can go to. ONE. We don't generally count Studio 55 as that's in Praetoria, and funny as it may seem, many of us actually consider going to enemy territory for a beer to be hugely OOC.

Again, you're making random stuff up. Maybe you should work on your reading comprehension a bit, as you seem to think I've said stuff I haven't? I never (seriously) said to get out. I merely said that I don't consider it an unreasonable request to ask the dozens of people who have never given a toss about PD before and are now swarming the place, to give a little consideration to the people who spend a lot of time in there, and cut out the power spam.

But sure. It's your buck, you can do what you like with it. Myself, I'll continue to consider the wishes of others and stop doing things that cause them problem when asked, even when its at the expense of my earning some iXP (which I have done).

Actually, my PC can handle the burden fine. But I also RP with folks who's PC's can be prone to crash even during the average stress of a Rikti raid. So if we're not doing anything that needs the powers activated, I don't activate them; period.

As for buffing, I do THAT once I'm inside the mission. It's not like it takes long.

I would say that anyone is free to run whatever powers or effects they like, right up until someone asks them nicely to stop as its causing them a problem. At that point, I would say that it's only decent and polite to accede to such a request and shut them off. It's easy enough, after all, to state OOCly that the effects continue even though they're not running. We do that sort of thing quite often on Union.

Is no an acceptable response to a polite request? Does no show any consideration for ones fellow players? If someone asked me to shut off one of my toggles due to it causing them a problem, even if it was during a mission and I needed it, I would turn it off without even arguing. I want to have fun, sure; but not at the expense of someone else's fun.

Hell, during a BAF the other day, I was on the ambush team on my PB and someone said that the knockback was causing them problems. I immediately apologised and went off to beat on Siege instead, sacrificing my extra iXP so that I didn't inconvenience the team.

I'd agree that telling them to get out, or even asking them to get out, wasn't the right thing to do. As people have rightly said, everyone pays their subs and have the right to be there if they want.

However, I do not see it unreasonable to ask people to turn off their toggles to cut down on the graphical lag it causes. Think about it. Get 2 or more BAF trials starting up, with everyone messing around and power spamming, and you'll end up with the same issues that are commonplace on Hami raids.

Hardly nice to the folks who just want to do their thing, is it?

Why does THAT matter? All that matters is that they ARE suffering problems due to all the power spamming, and then getting ridiculed and told to shut up when they politely ask people to stop doing that.

Nobody is saying nobody else is allowed in to PD. People are just asking the games to cut out all the power spamming which lags the hell out of the zone and causes problems for those NOT doing the trials.

I don't think that's an unreasonable request. I *do* think it's unreasonable to say no, get pissy, and accuse people of people rude when the ones doing the power spamming are the rude ones.

But I guess expecting people to be adult, respectful and mindful of other people is too much to ask for.

Using that logic, the Incarnate trials are Praetorian content, set in Praetoria, so why don't you start them in Praetoria? you have all the facilities there that you need.

You move to another part of the bar but he follows you and does exactly the same.

Do you:

A) Ask the drunk nicely to leave you alone and go away?
B) Give up and go home, bringing your entire evening to an end?

The simple answer there is: "You're on the designated RP server, in a designated RP area. Go away."

Fortunately, we don't usually see a lot of that. Normally, when we do, it tends to come from the kind of people who enjoy griefing RPers when we're quietly minding our own business.

Some of that happens on Union's PD, but nothing like you describe. It's generally just folks enjoying some downtime after a hard day fighting crime.

Once the server lists merge, come check Union out.

As for the topic at hand, this sort of thing happens all the time. The devs introduce an area ideal for RP, such as Pocket D, then they fill it full of actual game content. Us RPers can never have anything nice for long.
