For a start, I think the part about us not being able to get back in there, but NEW heroes are allowed access, is absolutely grade A ultra-stupid. The Earth has been attacked by a deadly enemy, and they're REALLY only going to let the newbies deal with it? Riiiiight...
So I propose to totally ignore that part of it and, RP wise, let our guys be going back in there to help if that's what we want to do.
Otherwise, I think we really should use as much of a canon events as possible, including the new intro missions and NPC's, at least in conversation. -

Seriously, when you're starting to actually demand payment (LOL!) for "taking people along" on farming runs, that's when it becomes time to step away from the computer and go outside for a bit.
Ah well, whatever floats their boat. It'd never work on Union though, they'd just get laughed off the server and I'm pretty surprised the same doesn't happen on the others...

To the VERY small number of people who thing NCSoft would use this to do naughty things to your PC, do get some level of common sense, please? What POSSIBLE reaason could they have for doing so? They REALLY don't care just how big your pron folder is, you know?
They just want to protect the game and other users from the kind of people you get in F2P games, botters.

One of my concerns right now is that the Battalion will be "VIP" only. If they are indeed so powerful that players need the incarnate system to fight them, that would prevent any and all Free/Premium players from being able to participate in content with the Battalion. -

I'm kinda hoping they're going to spring some kind of surprise "meteor attack" event on us, but I'm fully expecting everything to be just presented as having happened and that we heroes did zip to try to stop any of it.

To give you guys a bit of insight;
Today/tonight was the result of issues with new hardware. While we certainly would loved for everything to have worked directly "out of the box", unfortunately that didn't happen today.
We've been working to resolve this ASAP, and only brought all servers offline when we were sure of a solution. Myself, the server engineers, both here and in Austin, are all working around the clock until we resolve this.
I'll keep you all updated should more information become available. -

Meh.. I still hate it. IMO, they ruined them. If they REALLY had to change them, just improving the models and textures a bit would have been fine. I'd rather see improvement to player meshes, to be honest. They suck, especially at the joints...
