Whilst I agree with most of your points, on this one I cannot. Almost the entire hero side of the game tells you that you arrest, not kill. There are one or two missions where people die, yes; but in 99.9% of the hero game, you are not killing nor does it tell you that you are.

Heh heh, always a difficult subject where there's missing information from the game creators. I guess this point is like so many RP points, in that it's completely down to interpretation. I certainly agree, the game never tells you you're killing. But that's been attributed to stuff like Real World Laws and restrictions and what not on the games development. The way I see it there's no way a world can be a No-Kill Zone for heroes that use Assault-Rifles/Flame-Throwers, Katana's, Grenades, Broadswords, Shuriken etc. Most of these weapons send chunks of vital organs spraying across the room. Even the "Normal" powers are up for speculation depending on your perception of what they can do... Radiation, Fire, and Energy Blasts are obvious examples of powers that kill and seriously injure. Not to mention, if someone who could dent a brick wall with a punch, hit you in the face, your head might just explode a little. Sure you can apply Comic Book Physics to the world. But some people will always hunger for realism, and consequences.

Oh I agree completely. In fact my main, Tiger White (Miss Ellie), has killed rather a LOT of people, especially during the Requiem war community plot last year; and spent rather a lot of time agonising over it too.
Of course, that doesn't mean she LIKES it; she avoids it wherever possible and would even let a villain escape rather than be forced kill him, unless doing so would put someone else's life at risk. -

Because it would seem that the IC lore points towards a world where Heroes are allowed to kill.

Hmm... Anyone else having problems reaching the Wiki? Seems to be down...

Right, I'll be adding info to the little black book this evening. Again, don't worry if you're not able to join another Global channel as there's still emails, tells, and all sorts of other things we can use for communication pruposes. So, let's have some more names! I'll prod people as I go.

Forgot to mention, Tiger White is also a senior member of the Unity Vigil (IC at least. Really must get around to moving her physically into the SG)

Just remember, in most states in the US, the legal drinking age is 21, not 18.

With December coming up, deadlines are getting tighter and our games must be released in time for the festive period.
Exact same scenario as last year... >.>
I'll do some more but I doubt I can reach the 50 mark

Next year, CHEAT! Start in October but don't post any until November! -
Hmm... Novastar is a new arrival to this dimension so he's out for the book idea. Tiger White is a catgirl and unlikely to associate with anyone of a canine persuasion (
), but she IS a very well known hero in the city, and one of the most powerful Kheldians in the city. Tiger Dark is less well known and a reformed Nictus; but again unlikely to associate with canines.
You could probably put Tiger White in there as someone Ragefang knew of, but not actually associated with. -
This forum is far better suited to a "talk page" than the wiki will ever be. Wiki's are intended to be static resources of information and really can't handle being used as a forum for conversation.

Im thinking more like heroes who dangle goons off the edge of buildings to scare them into getting info, torch gang bosses loot rather than hand it over to the PPD, or tip off troll gangs about C-Dyne shipments so they do the dirty work for them. (...er not that I ever did that
[/ QUOTE ]
Don't most heroes already do the afore mentioned?
[/ QUOTE ]Only one...
"Why'd you dangle that guy off the edge of a building and threaten to kill all of his family?"
"I'm Batman"
[/ QUOTE ]
You should talk to Tiger White. She uses a variation of this tactic from time to time.
1) Grab villains ankle.
2) Fly to 1 mile high
3) Swing a few times, then let go
4) A few yards from splatsville, catch him
5) THEN ask the questions. Saves buggering about as he knows you're serious. -
This board software only allows edits for up to 6 hours after the original posting time, so you probably won't be able to do that.
-
If I may, if you're using DiVX to encode, try using Stage6 to host them instead. It's a DiVX owned site and video's stay at their original quality, whilst still being able to stream.

OK, I think it's a worthy idea and well worth a try, so I'll bite!
Tiger White (Miss Ellie) - Level 50 Peacebringer
Server: Union
H/V: Hero
Global: @FloatingFatMan
Current Story Arcs: N/A
Ellie, or Tiger White as she was recently renamed too (always was her hero name IC), was my first RP character and still my main. Her early history is fraught with RP errors as I was a newbie back then; but I refuse to retcon any out as they're an integral part of who she is. More info on the wiki link.
Tiger Dark - Level 21 Warshade
Server: Union
H/V: Hero (Reformed Nictus)
Global: @FloatingFatMan
Current Story Arcs: Bad Storm Rising (Currently paused since the start of the Rikti invasion. Looking to resume before long)
Tiger Dark is a Nictus duplicate of Tiger White (A somewhat long and convoluted story partly explained in Tiger White's wiki).
Novastar. (Note the dot at the end)
Server: Union
H/V: Hero (Technically, just a scientist right now)
Global: @FloatingFatMan
Current Story Arcs: Lost in Space
Nova is from another dimension and is lost in ours due to an accident. He comes from a parallel Earth called Terra (Paradigm City), which was burned almost to cinders by solar flares 30 years previously, and is a Stellar Engineer. He ended up in our dimension as as result of attempting to prevent their Earth's sun from going Nova. He succeeded, but the sheer energies involved blasted a rip in the fabric of space, and he ended up stuck here. -

Whatever your views on time travel and the way you would like to play it, try to find room to conciliate different views without IC clashes.
[/ QUOTE ]
Personally, I think the easiest way to avoid IC clashes is for everyone to follow the game canon in this. Yes it causes problems for some characters (such as Doctor Temporis!), but in the long run if everyone uses the game canon explanation for time travel, it'll pretty much negate the chances for that kind of clash. -
/me hands around the ibuprofen.
-
Traditional golden age comic super villains suck. They're nothing but two dimensional and limited parodies of real criminal elements and are about as evil as my right toe.
-
The problem is, I know of at least 3 time-travelling characters who's very existence is kinda borked by i11.
TimeKeeper (Played by Quilla)
Number Nine (Played by Zortel)
Doctor Temporis (Played by Doc T)
Each of these is borked to a greater or lesser extent by i11. One can't help but wonder how they're going to deal with it for their characters...
