It's likely that the chat and purchasing servers just haven't spun up yet. Give it a little longer and they should appear.

The newcomer watched the video playback silently as Ed spoke, and her face paled as she saw what had happened. Once the playback ended, she muttered in a quiet voice. "That's... Not possible... He's gone... He CAN'T be back..."
She leaned forwards and carefully picked Ellie up, holding her in her arms, then straightened up. "I'd appreciate it if you could send a copy of that footage to the Unity Vigil, marked for the attention of Tiger Dark, that's me by the way; Ed can explain who I am."
She turned to look at Ed, "It'll be faster for me to 'port her there myself, Ed. I need to get Ellie out of here, before Sunstorm and his cronies get wind of this, and she'll be far safer at the tower than anywhere else."
Moving a couple of paces away them, she glanced down at Ellie's unconscious face. "I think some of her past might be coming back, Ed. And god help both of us if it is."
Looking back to the two heroes before her, the purple coloured energy of the Warshade erupted around the two almost identical women, and they vanished in a flash of light. -
A slender figure suddenly teleported in next to Ed, clad in the black and white of the Unity Vigil and the spitting image of Ellie, aside from purple hair. She glanced about to get her bearings, then spotting Ellie, knelt down beside her.
"Dammit Ellie." She muttered, "What the hell have you been doing?"
Looking up at Ed and Phoenix, she fired a rapid interrogative at the two. "What the hell happened here?! Bodicia intercepted a news report a couple of minutes ago, and redirected me here as soon as she could. Why's Ellie out cold on the floor, and what the hell happened to the ground and building?" -
And when one side doesn't want to agree to it? Bearing in mind that the other side in this instance is Marvel?
It's not going to happen. -
Ellie's vital signs are weak, but she seems stable enough, if out cold. Of the strange energy signature that was running through her matrix, not a trace of it can be found in her system, and though her power levels read a little higher than the average Peacebringer, there's nothing to indicate the level of power she'd just displayed.
-
Ellie glared blankly Pheonix for a moment, then glanced up on hearing the approaching chopper falling from the sky.
Her lips parted and deep hollow voice sounded. "Protect."
She flung her arms above her head, and a torrent of power erupted from her hands and eyes, slamming in to the falling chopper seconds after Ed evacuated its occupants. The falling craft seemed to stall in the air as the triple beams of white/purple energy ripped into its disintegrating shell and blasted it from existence.
A split second later, the beam ceased and Ellie's arms lowered until they were stretched out to her sided. Again that hollow voice sounded, repeating itself, and crackling bolts of lighting erupted from her hands, arcing through the clouds of gas in a spiders web of energy and destroying the gas. A few seconds later, the bolts of energy ceased, and the glow surrounding Ellie winked out as she fell to the ground, unconscious. -
High above the scene of destruction, a small white helicopter with the Paragon City News Network logo emblazoned on its side approached. Inside, Jack Carter, one of the networks roving reports quickly focused his camera on the carnage below as the network fed his live report on air.
Adjusting his headset and microphone, he panned the camera over the ruins of the building, focusing on the various bodies of the Freakshow members half buried, then shifted to the brightly glowing figure at the centre of the rubble and began to speak into his mic.
"This is Jack Carter, reporting for PCNN at what appears to be a battle in downtown Galaxy City. We've just arrived on the scene of what looks like a partial building collapse, and a number of heroes fighting what appears to be some members of the Freakshow, and an unknown assailant. We're going to try to get in closer for a close up of the action as it happens."
Tapping his pilot on the shoulder, he gestured for him to take them in closer, then resumed his commentary as they moved in closer.
"The action appears to be centred around the brightly glowing figure below, which is surrounded by some kind of strange gas. I can see a hero near the figure, and what looks like bolts of lightning hitting the ground nearby. It looks like the figure is attacking the hero, lets hope she'll be OK, folks!"
Unseen by the pilot, the down draft from their chopper blows some of the gas aside, and it billows up in to the air, and into their tail rotor. Immediately, the gas starts to dissolve the metal, and alarms begin to sound as the chopper starts to spin.
Carter calls out in fear as everything starts to go haywire, and the chopper starts to spiral out of control. -

Or as this it the forum, beware of geeks bearing gifs?

Having seen some of TG's avatars over the years, I think it should be:
"Beware of Greeks bearing GIF's" -
Ellie's head snapped down, the purple in her eyes making them appear almost entirely black as she stared down at Pheonix. Her expression remained blank but Pheonix's prescence was definately noted as bolts of energy struck the ground, circling the young woman. The energy signature of the bolts was strange, it was clearly that of a Peacebringer, but there was an edge of something else, something that felt almost Nictus in its savagry; and the intensity was way beyond anything Peacebringers could normally bring to bare. It had an almost primal feel to it.
-
As Pheobe ran within range, more bolts of purple tinged lightning arced out from Ellie's body, scouring the ground before her as if in a warning blast. Ellie herself continued to float some 4 feet above the rubble strewn street, that same dark glow in her eyes in her otherwise vacant face. Arcs of lighning continued to scour the ground for several feet around her, obliterating all the fragmented bits of rubble and leaving the ground beneath her a bubbling mass of semi-molten cement.
As the canister above exploded, Ellie's head snapped backwards, her gaze diverting upwards. A white/purple shield instantly sprang up around her, and the bolts of energy intensified as the heavy gas descended. -

Uhm, I'm having the exact same problem (identical), and the only thing I have in common with ShaolinMaster is Vista.
[/ QUOTE ]
I just noticed that. I very much doubt it's Vista though.. I'm running Vista x64 Ultimate SP1, and the game works perfectly for me. No crashes at any point. -
Ellie turned slowly in the air as she floated across the rubble, and more bolts of energy arced from her body. Several slammed in to the ground by Molly's feet, leaving bubbling patches of molten cement, and as Ed came barrelling out of the building, more arced across towards him.

Drive 2 - (this is where the game is installed to) 32GB SSD
[/ QUOTE ]
You have the game installed to a solid state drive? Expensive!
Can you try relocating it to the actual HD, to elimate the SSD's access times as a possible cause of crashes.

This is a twin GPU card, running SLi natively. CoH does have known issues with SLi configurations, can you disable one of the GPU's? -
Where Ellie lay buried, a faint glow appeared. Growing brighter by the second, a pale blue light spread in a 10 foot circle around the spot where she lay. Smoke began to rise from the rubble as it heated, and some of it started to shift.
A loud 'crack' sounded, and a bolt of white lightning, tinged with a dark purple at the edges, erupted from the centre of the glow, blasting several chunks of concrete to dust. More and more bolts began to erupt as the glow brightened, blasting several more boulders apart. One bolt arced across the rubble, narrowly missing Molly as it earthed itself against a lamp post.
Suddenly, there was a huge rush of energy at the centre of the glow, and the rubble exploded upwards, showering the area with shattered fragments of concrete, and Ellie's body floated in to the air. Her entire body was alight with a coruscating torrent of both white and purple light, and huge bolts of lighting sparked out from her, blasting more concrete to powder.
Ellie's eyes snapped open, filled with a purple light so intense it was almost black, and she slowly floated across the rubble strewn area, towards Molly. -
Well... Starting at the beginning...
1. What OS are you using?
2. What video card do you have?
3. What driver versions are you using?
4. What is your complete system spec?
5. Are you running dual monitors or dual video cards (SLi/Crossfire)
6. Are you using Windowsblinds? -
Ellie's prone form didn't move as the building facade fell, and seconds later she was buried under a ton of rubble and dust.
-
Ellie let out a final surge of power, blasting through the Slayers shielding in a torrent of energy, just as the quantum energy smashed in to her face. Her entire body arced as the deadly energy ripped in to her matrix, trying to rip her apart from her bonding and destroy the Kheldian that shared her body. An unearthly shriek ripped through the air, shattering nearby windows, and Ellie crashed in to the ground, her body smoking.
-
Ellie's battle computer had completely taken over her actions by now, its sophisticated systems able to analyze and respond to battle far faster then mere human neurons, even ones enhanced with merging with a Kheldian. No sooner had the Void Slayer rolled from her attack, it computed possible responses and triggered another shift in Ellie's quantum matrix.
Her body glowed brightly once again, and her huge form shrank back to its normal shape, allowing be scarlet beam to lance through the space just above her head. Ellie immediately rolled to the ground and sprang up and over the Slayer, a torrent of white energy pouring from her eyes and hands, straight at the point occupied by the villain. -
Ellie neatly sidestepped the beam of dark energies and set herself to meet the headlong rush of the tank when the warning systems in her suit went crazy. Her battle computer streamed information across her monocle as the alien systems registered the activation of a quantum array weapon, analysed the beam trajectory, calculated all possible results, decided on threat priorities and overrode Ellie's reflexes.
Energy erupted from Ellie's eyes and she vanished in a flare of teleportation, shifting forms at exactly the same instant. A split-second later, she reappeared behind the attacking Void Slayer in dwarf form and slashed at his head with a massive claw. -

Why do you get free game time when they release a new issue then? Even if its 2 days. Your paying to play the game online, not for the issues.
[/ QUOTE ]
That's odd. I've been here since EU beta, and I've never been given any free game time when they release a new issue.
Or are you referring to the reactivation weekends? That's just done as a "Hey, we've gotten better, come back to us!" promotion for former players, not current ones.
Anyway, as has been explained in the past by various rednames. Our subscription goes towards server maintenance, bug fixing, further development such as new issues, forum admin, support, and a whole load of other stuff, so yes; we actually pay for the new issues. -
Ellie sighed as the two gunner before her ignored her offer and finished grabbing their guns. With a gleefull laugh, they opened fire on Ellie at almost point blank range. Ellie looked down at herself as the bullets glanced off her silvery armour, unaffected by the onslaught.
"Well, I guess that answers that then." she muttered, and her body shimmered and vanished in a streak of light.
A split second later, there's a blur of light in front of the thugs, and a high pitched hum as the light sliced through their guns, shearing them in half, then Ellie reappeared behind the thugs. Grasping two by the shoulder, the squeezed in a reasonable facsimile of a Vulcan nerve pinch, and the freaks screamed in pain as her slender hands crushed their collar bones. Both crumpled to the floor a second later and Ellie looked down at their prone forms.
"You guys really ARE stupid, aren't you?" she muttered; then looked up sharply as the huge, odd looking, tank emerged from the alley, and tentacles erupted from the ground, trying to hold her.
Once again, her claws sprang from her fingers, and the bright light sliced through the dark tentacles, shredding them effortlessly and banishing those around her back to the shadows.
Raising a curious eyebrow, Ellie stepped forwards towards the tank. "Hey, you're a big one aren't you?" -
You really think the devs will issue the tokens BEFORE they've fixed the bug?
-
Ellie finished heaving finally, and drew her forearm across her mouth. Spitting a final time, she straighted up and muttered. "Oh god... I need some mouthwash SOOOOO much..."
Sighing, she noted a number of the downed Freaks getting up and uttered a quiet swear word. "And I guess that's just going to have to wait..."
Not bothering with her shields, she stepped forward and laid out a Stunner with a single slap to the face, then turned to face a pair of gunners, still fumbling on the ground for their weapons. "Boys, give it a rest will you? I've already half eaten your buddy's arm, and I'm REALLY not in the mood for seconds..." -
Ellie's sabretoothed tiger form glowed brightly seconds after the Gunner shredded his own arm trying to get away, and it rapidly reformed back to her silvery armoured self. A short row of bullet holes were visible in her side, but green energy rapidly swirled around the wounds, healing them and resealing her armour. As it did, Ellie doubled over, gagging; and struggled to spit bits of Freakshow out of her mouth.
Her stomach heaving, she tried to wipe her arm across her mouth, "Oh god, I'm gonna thr...." Her stomach heaved again, and this time she couldn't stop it, and she dropped to her knees as she began to throw up vigourously.
