The problem before was tracked down to the presence of a colon IIRC. People were putting smilies in their MOTD's and that was crashing them.
-
So basically... It's a recurrence of an identical problem that happened a couple of months ago?
-
You know... I'm in an SG that actually has a full URL in it's MOTD, and I was able to log in just fine last night...
-
Just as a suggestion, but it might be worth everyone having this problem reinstalling their motherboard drivers. Not video ones, the actual drivers for the main board. It could be some issue with them is causing this. Might be worth checking with your mobo makers as well, to see if they have updates or if there are any known problems.

In fact, should Pool Powers in general be usuable in forms?

So you going to tell BAB he has to do an animation for Jump Kick in nova form?

I suppose there'd have to be SOME restrictions for sense; but certainly Cosmic Balance and the Warshade equivalent (can never remember its name) REALLY shouldn't stop working just because you've changed shape. You're STILL a Kheldian after all. Perhaps the buffs might change a little, but they should still apply. -

MUSIC EDITOR!
To be able to insert your own music into a map, but at a limited volume. Then maybe have it play high at key points, like in the sewers' some places, and at the entrance of missions.
Or have a specific song put on during a boss fight, or cutscene! That would add SO much atmosphere.

Yeah... I can really see the RIAA letting them do THAT! -
Thanks Lou, however this is a different issue. The problem you describe is actually a known issue. CoH doesn't like dual displays, or SLi configurations. SOME people have gotten them to work, but more often than not, it'll just crash.
It's all a bit sloppy really, and IMO, at least part of the cause is down to CoH being an OpenGl game. -
I was letting Rock squish you Freakness first.. As that bit IS why you're in the sewers..
-
Try deleting your checksum file.

I've been here since Jan 4, 2005. I can't leave... If they ever close the servers down, I'm going to have a nervous breakdown.
-
Glad you managed to get it all resolved.

No-one expects something awesome from the Vet rewards; but reusing an already issued Vet reward is REALLY weak. They could have at least offered one of the many other temp powers in the game...
-
Technically, they ask us to report named which break the terms of the EULA. Be they a copyrighted name, or offensive. Other than that, I don't think they're too bothered. Either way; if in doubt, report it and the GM's will decide if it's an appropriate name or not.
As for the heal aura... I don't have a problem with it. I just with empaths would turn it OFF when the team is between mobs! -

problem is leaving it flexible with the full rewards, means it will just become another farming tool. and either the functionality or the rewards will have to be limited, to curb what i think they will think of as undesirable behaviour. (weather it is or it isn't is irrelevant) i suppose there might be a balance between the two extremes, but I can also seem them missing it at it will be a really small spot to hit.

We discussed all this last time in the old thread, but I still don't see as the devs would let that be a problem. There are several ways they could design it with plenty of flexibility, but still prevent exploitation.
Several options could be:
1) Allow selection of mob type, but disallow mob placement. Leave that to the mission generator itself as well as difficulty levels.
2) Put a reward timer on them, like task forces.
3) Enforce a cooldown period between runs.
4) Disallow mission resetting.
Just a few simple enough options that would help prevent exploiting a more flexible mission designer. -
Oh I don't mean I'm going to! I just know what people here can be like when someone says something like that!
-
You REALLY shouldn't have said that, Doc...

Ellie likes Ed mostly, and gets on with him; but it'll be a cold day in hell before she willingly enters a courtroom again.

The helmets are OK, but recycling already issued vet rewards is extremely weak.
I just get the impression that they kinda regret starting the whole vet reward system, and barely spend ANY time figuring out what to use for the next one. Look at all the problems the buff pets have caused them... -
So what's been wrong with them all morning? This is getting incredibly frustrating now, and I really think it's time the new forums were given a higher priority. I'm getting totally sick of it taking sometimes up to 20 minutes to make a post thanks to all the stupid errors, and now it's been completely down all morning.
Sorry GR, but as paying customers, I really think it's time we got a decent answer on this issue; it's been going on now for months, with no sign of any improvement. No more "Soon" excuses; an approximate date, please. -
I'll wait on my bit, I think. Let you lot get pasted first; THEN jump you!
-
What version of Windows are you running? Also, what are your hardware specs and are all drivers up to date?
-
Are you running any other program at the same time? Especially things like Stardock Windowsblinds? That thing is known to have problems with CoH.
-
Cool. Well, it's up to you guys. All I need to put it in, is for them to go deeper into the sewers, and for you to not mind me prodding them into a certain direction...
-
Getting a crash in ntdll.dll is rather odd... That's NOT a dll that should be getting touched by any thing in the game.
Have you tried right clicking the shortcut and selecting "Run as Administrator"? It's unlikely, but it COULD be an access rights issue... -
