It's an ongoing problem with a couple of threads in here already, such as Random Crashes / Freeze Problem

The problem is actually affecting many people on more than just CoH and seems to be driver related with the 8800 series of cards, but we can't be sure...

Basically, they'll start to suffer more and more from overheating problems, even at normal idle. nVidia are making a "patch" available to run your GPU fan at full speed all the time to help with the cooling, but that's going to increase power use and noise.

Given the recent revelations about possible design flaws in the G84 and G86 cores, it's possible this could be the root cause and not the drivers at all... Might be an idea to check your GPU temperatures...

EDIT: Okay, maybe not. Seems the 8800 is using the G92 cores, so shouldn't be having that problem. Only the GO's and the 8600 series cards.

I've been through several months in the last couple of years where I've not played at all; yet carry on subbing; at least in part due to wanting the vet rewards. A small part it's true, but it HAS been a consideration.

It now seems that it doesnt matter what driver is installed it just happens when enetering/exiting missions (for me)

How exactly did you do the rollback? Did you just uninstall and reinstall? If so, that's not going to help you a great deal. The only certain way to roll back is to uninstall, then remove all vestiges of the driver manually before reinstalling, or using a program such as Driver Cleaner to do it for you. The old free version 1.5 can easily be found with a quick google.

Perhaps, but it also takes twice as long for a Kheldian to take out a Boss than it does a blaster. It's all relative, you know, and if I can do it on my PB, without using my self heals, then a blaster can do it faster.

Those buff pets were something nice and unique for the vet rewards, and have been rather a large amount of work due to all the bugs with them! Can't imagine Posi's been best pleased with that.

Don't be silly... It's now the same mag as the Peacebringer version of TF, whilst still doing more damage than it; and *I* can quite happily do what you describe on my PB, even to elite bosses. You may not get the stun, but it will still knock several types of hell out of their HP.

Given how long forum RP takes, you guys might want to consider RPing this live... Otherwise you'll still be hearing evidence come Christmas!
