I know you were replying to Shadowe, but I'll apologise too. Your post made me get a bit snappy, and that really wasn't called for.

Problem is, though there are considerate farmers out there, and I HAVE had a couple of polite tells asking me lately; the jerks FAR outnumber you, and they're the ones who have caused such animosity to build towards farmers. It's not nice when jerks ruin your corner of the community. We've had our share of that in RP too...

We need to know what the graphics card is, and what driver version you're running. Without that, we can't tell you if it's capable of running CoH or not. If you want us to help you, we're happy to do so, but you need to help us to help you, and for that we need the information Shadowe outlined; all of it.

Hell, even the precise laptop model number would help. At least then we could go look it up on Dell's website.

One thing that does stick out is that you say you're on a hotel internet? CoH uses ports that are frequently used by some popular p2p programs, so it's possible the hotel is actively blocking those ports, either because of that or because they don't allow online gaming through their portal. If that's the case, we won't be able to help you.

Come back to us with the laptop model number though, at least then we can tell you if the machine meets the game requirements.

You know farming isn't exactly popular, especially on the forums; yet you make a thread encouraging it and are then SURPRISED that people are going to comment?

Considering how EVERY SINGLE TIME a pro-farming thread is posted, it's rapidly loaded with people ranting and otherwise nay saying the entire concept, how could you possibly expect this one to go any better?

Personally, I think they've shot themselves in the foot when it comes to customer trust. This isn't the first time they've had problems, and I'd be surprised if anyone burnt a second time by this apparent "Outlook database corruption" will use them again.

There's a common problem with the installer not creating a shortcut to the EU game, just the US one. It's easy to fix and there's actually a sticky at the top of the tech forum telling you how to get the EU client (it's a very small download). Alternatively, you CAN just rename the US file to "Cohupdate.EU.EXE", and update your shortcut accordingly; though it's preferable to get the proper EU client.

Compared to PvE, the PvPers make up a smaller proportion of the playerbase than the RPers do!

Besides, as much as I think there's been a lot of toy throwing from prams in this thread, from BOTH sides; Bunny is just expressing his opinion, which he IS allowed to do. Besides... PvP DOES suck!
