Dude, calm down. I was only trying to help.. No need to bust a blood vessel over a misunderstanding. You'll give yourself a coronary. -

The Mirror's contest had over 9400 entries. The winner is from London and I'm currently checking to find out if we're allowed to reveal his name.
[/ QUOTE ]
Can you at least tell us when the Mirror are going to publish the results, if you're not allowed to post the winners? -

Arrgh! ATI PC! ATI PC! Ye gods, NCNC should know better than to be giving away a PC that
isn't properly compatible with their own game...
[/ QUOTE ]
What, you mean like the Nvidia 8800 cards and their constant crashing?
[/ QUOTE ]
I shall ignore your mere facts and substitute my unwarranted prejudice, and stick to saying that NVidia still rules
...and at least it's only one suite of cards in the range that self destructs...
[/ QUOTE ]
Y'know... Before my old PC self destructed, I was running with an ATI card and, whilst I didn't get the framerates as I'm now getting, it didn't bloody crash either! Only problem I had with it was decent water settings giving that graphics bug in the lower quarter of the screen... So ner! -

We've passed along to the relevant teams internally the current low stock amounts available online through Amazon, Game and Play.
[/ QUOTE ]
Speaking of, they've let us know that the current low stock at the online retailers I mentioned is due to a shipping delay and that new stock should be arriving soon.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'd still like to know... Any chance of you selling the game time cards through your own online store? -
[ QUOTE ]
Also note that Amazon does carry Game Time Cards. They currently have a small number available, although I recognise that Amazon stock levels can fluctuate a lot.

Can you guys not sell these on your own online store? Then people wouldn't have to worry so much about finding anywhere that has stock... -

We're putting together messaging for all current subscribers who use Maestro currently, and it will be sent before before we remove their current Maestro-based recurring billing - along with details of alternative payments as they become available.
[/ QUOTE ]
So what about people like the OP, who have ALREADY had accounts closed because their Maestro card was rejected without any kind of notification? I know you guys are trying, GR; I really do. But as you knew this was coming into mandatory enforecement by 1st July, they you should have notified all users BEFORE 1st July.
I personally think you should sent out a notification to all users NOW, and add that other billing options will be made available as soon as possible; rather than make people wait until you have that in place too. -

Maybe I should rephrase a little...
I'll scare the knickers off your CHARACTER, eventually. -

It's not an ideal situation that could lose a few subscribers, but is it Dooom[tm]?

I know of at least 3 people who are not going to be able to continue paying their subs as a direct consequence of this, as things stand with current billing options. Judging by this thread alone, quite a few people are affected; and what about those who don't read the forums? They haven't even got the warning WE have! -

So basicly, taken me a few months to realise the pb is just a gimick version of a tank and blaster.

Really? Mine's more of a mini tankmage. Maybe you should revisit your build? -

That's really unfair. I can only pay for things like this using a maestro card and I'll be damned if I ever use paypal or get a credit card. Thanks a bunch for not telling us this well before you implement it!
[/ QUOTE ]
I have to agree here. Whilst it's not NC's fault this has happened, it IS their fault that they gave no advance warning. I consider this to be quite a severe customer services failure. There's really NO excuse for not giving us several weeks notice.
I can quite easily see this causing a load of people to leave, as they have no other means of paying their sub without considerable inconvenience. NC need to offer simple and viable alternatives NOW, before anyone's billing cycle is up. -

Or push their affiliates 'PaySafeCard'?

Assuming players want to bother to get another piece of plastic... Making them jump through hoops for my suggestions is enough annoyance to make some people leave... -
The problem isn't accepting Maestro at all... The problem is accepting Maestro on an auto-renewal system, as GR explained. Procedural changes as Mastercard to increase security make it no longer possible for them to use that card for recurring charges; hence they've had to remove it from the list of options in the account section.
They're kind of stuck really... They WANT to offer it to their users, but Mastercard won't let them due to security concerns. I won't be surprised if Visa follow suit, to be honest.
EDIT: Several options PlayNC should look at, if they're not already.
1. Manual renewal, taking the Maestro card. So players can renew their subs manually each month.
2. Sell game time card in their PlayNC store, email code directly to buyer. No wait, no fuss.
3. Direct debit option.
