(( Someone better have a chat with me about infiltrating Section 19. They hand pick their staff. Good job I already have Mr Needlebaum built. Seven is out of the city for the next few days, btw. ))

(( Don't worry, I had every intention of doing so! Right now, 00 just wants someone in there.. Doesn't mean he'll get his wish. ))
  2. Somewhere in Paragon

The large circular chamber was in darkness, save for an bank of 10 video monitors near the head of a long table. A high backed chair sat before the monitors, and just visible on one of the arms, a wizened hand rested, fingers clenched into a fist. A faint wisp of smoke rose from the charred corpse of number 9, laid to one side of the chair, and the smell of burnt flesh pervaded the room.

On the monitors, the scene of the recent attack on the Ziggurat, obviously culled from several security cameras, repeated in an endless look. At the end of each loop, the camera froze for a moment on a still frame of Seven.

"This operative Seven might be a problem, number 8." The ancient voice had an angry edge to it. "I want someone inside section nineteen immediately. We might have to introduce some changes to its program."

Number 8, a tall, thickset woman with dark red hair, nodded in acknowledgment. "Of course sir, I'll see to it immediately. What of the alien?"

"Thanks to the interference of Johnson and his friend, she's out of our reach for now. Rolando's people and section nineteen will be keeping far too close an eye on her, and we're not ready to tip our hand; yet."

The woman nodded once more, accepting her superior's decision. "I will make sure all last traces of our connection to recent events are erased. Do you wish the operative who provoked the alien into attacking her reassigned?"

"No." came the reply. "I want her eliminated; make it look like an accident. I want full containment and sterilization, understand? There must be no trail back to us."

Number 8 nodded once more and started to leave, only to be stopped by 00's voice. "Fail me, number 8, and you'll join this pile of garbage."

"Yes sir, I won't fail you."

"Good, send someone down to clean this up, and get out."

Staring with distaste at her former colleagues remains, number 8 nodded, and beat a hasty retreat from the chamber, her footsteps echoing.

  5. AFAIK, that only works with looping effects.
  6. Probably she spoke shortly due to certain people being really annoying an inconsiderate of others?

It's not exactly rocket science to figure out setting off highly graphical (and noisy) power effects is going to bother people. Maybe I should spend an evening standing next to your char and constantly shift between dwarf and nova forms. You might just get it then.
  7. Ah, I've just been told she was on a char called Dinah Ewers.
  8. Zortel, as you'd know if you read Shadowe's post. If they were in range of you to hear your chat, you were in range of them.
  9. Shadowe says you WERE asked to move, yet you didn't.
  10. I'll try one more time.

Level 50 tank, level 50 mission, set to invulnerable. Mobs are 53/54
7 x level 1. Auto SK'd to one below mission level, level 49. They CANNOT be SK'd up to -1 mob level, as character levels cannot go that high.

They are getting XP for +4/+5 mobs. PL paradise.

So basically everyone needs to check with you and whether you, feel like acting in character or not?

If you decide you don't want to get involved, then the decision is all up to you, like every time you ignore a Rikti raid happening in another zone, exact same situation in fact.

Realistically most 'hero' characters, should IC go to fight of the Rikti, even if they don't participate in the actual Game play fight.

But ah excuse me I didn't know one of your powers, was a fun negating zone, where only events that have been double checked with you can happen in a certain radius.

This is an old argument that's NEVER going to settled, but comes down to one thing. Manners.

Contrary to what you might think, some people at the statue MIGHT just have their own things they want to do that night. When someone comes along and does something which, if people want to stay in character, they CANNOT ignore, then you are forcing YOUR fun on THEM. This is also known as god-modding and is widely considered to be just about the rudest thing you can do to another RPer.

No one is saying you can't do that, but the polite thing to do is to NOT do it right in the middle of a crowded area, and disrupt what other people want to do.

Now, no doubt you'll say that they should just move, but really, why should they? In all likelyhood, they were already at the statue, so it should be the ones with the "plot" who move.

Would you like it if the tables were reversed and someone ruined your plans for the evening? It's easy enough to counter your bag thing, but we choose not too as, once again, it's rude to do so. Is it REALLY so hard to treat others with equal respect?

As far as I'm aware, it's still an option for High Treason, though the last time anyone was tried for that it wasn't considered a valid option since the guy was off his rocker.

Sorry, but it was repealed in 1998.

    [ QUOTE ]

The mandatory death penalty for treason was abolished by the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 and replaced with imprisonment up to a maximum of life.

(Just to be fair an reasonable, I horrified my other half a day or so ago by pointing out that the death sentence was still allowed for in murder cases within my lifetime. Apparently it was repealed somewhat earlier in the Netherlands. We do have plenty of silly laws in the UK. )

    [/ QUOTE ]

It's worse than you think... The death sentences in the UK for the crimes of high treason and piracy at sea weren't repealed until the late 90's/early 2000's...

If you'd been at Galaxy Girl last night, you'd have seen.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Oh i see, that area is solely for role players is it?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Nope, but it IS well known as a roleplayer gathering spot. Non RPers don't gather there.

    [ QUOTE ]

You dont think it might have been people just going to a populated area to show off a new toy, bit of harmless fun, they were in mercy too.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Actually, I know it wasn't. From what I gather, the people doing it were actually RPers themselves, who really should have known better but just couldn't resist playing with their new toy and annoying the hell out of others. I never once said it was non-RPers griefing RPers...

    It's actually quite sad really...

If these issues had been known about before the pack was released, they would have been fixed before the pack was released.

    [/ QUOTE ]

So, none of the people who tested it had a char with a +HP bonus on them? I struggle to find a player char above about level 10 that DOESN'T have a +HP bonus these days...

Perhaps a review of testing procedures would help there.

Sorry GR. I'm well known on here as being a big supporter of the game and the dev team, and have been called a brown nose by several people. But I did predict, with the bugs in the Wedding pack, that the next addon pack would be released bugged as well. I'm somewhat annoyed that I'm right.

The bugs, like the Wedding Pack ones, are very easy to reproduce, and should have been seen almost right away. I just hope the fix to this pack is better thought out than the Wedding Pack fix.
  16. [ QUOTE ]
The bugs with the pack that you mention are already fixed in an internal build.

    [/ QUOTE ]

It's my professional opinion, as someone who writes software for a living, that it was a mistake to release this pack with said bugs. They really don't instill confidence in future booster packs, especially as the wedding pack was ALSO buggy.

These are not issue updates, they're pure eye candy. There is ZERO reason to release them until they work properly. You'd think NC would have learned this by now...
  17. If you'd been at Galaxy Girl last night, you'd have seen.
  18. It's good to see yet another pay for add on pack that was thoroughly play tested and ensured to not actually break anything, isn't it?
  19. Gimme a gun, and I'd WILLINGLY put Igglepiggle down.

But I'd turn aside from such a task to take out Stephanie, Robby Rotten, Sportacus, and the rest of the Lazy Town bunch! *shudder*

Sometimes, having young children isn't all it's cracked up to be!
  20. Whilst searching for something, I came across this interesting bit of info on Wikipedia.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Same-se...n_Rhode_Island

So anyone considering such things in RP (I know some have done so, including me!), you can't perform it in Paragon, but it'll be legally recognized if you perform it in a state or country where it IS legal.
  21. The mission last night went awesomely, and everyone (I think) had a load of fun!

Due to some time constraints on my side, Ravenswing has kindly agreed to transcribe the logs into some fiction for you all to enjoy, so hopefully that will be available later today.

Thanks to everyone who took part, I had a ball!

    Cyborg leakage

And, having now seen reports of the REALLY nasty bug in the Self Destruct power, I'm glad I waited. I think I'll hold off and see how they fix it, seeing as I wasn't overly amused with how they "fixed" the wedding pattern...

    Cyborg leakage

I was an early buyer of the wedding pack, and was annoyed by the bugs in it. THIS time, I'm gonna wait a bit and see what's wrong with the new pack.
