people that want the markets merged are primariliy blue side players... ppl that are against the merger i'd guess are mostly redside players
[/ QUOTE ]Aaaand... you'd be wrong. -

Cool, so the devs are willing to incorporate unintended features into the game.
[/ QUOTE ]
Haha, no. The floodgates were opened and there was nothing the developers could do but instigate a server wide rollback which would have pissed off too many of their paying customers even for them. Being forced to do something isnt giving.
[/ QUOTE ]How about a more recent example?
From the now-deleted thread "Unenhanceable recharge" makes me nervous, in conversation about Mind Link:
Castle:[ QUOTE ]

Mind Link for Night Widows.
[/ QUOTE ]Mink Link's recharge is enhanceable.
[/ QUOTE ]Mind Link doesn't accept Recharge Enhancements. It does accept IO's and HO's which can increase the powers recharge rate.
I have no plans on changing that, at this time.

Via Set Bonuses only then.
[/ QUOTE ]No. If an enhancement is a dual, or tri value enhancement like, say, Membrane Exposure, you could slot it into Mind Link and it would not only enhance the Defense, it would reduce the recharge time, too.
[/ QUOTE ]What other powers are subject to this rule? I've been slotting IOs based on the "Basic" IO/SO they can slot. I figured if it couldn't accept than kind of enhancement it was just be wasted of half of an IO. Considering how expensive/time consuming it can be to buy/make the IO, that factors into how I want the character to be specced out.
[/ QUOTE ]It's not a "rule" -- this is an exception, and an experimental one at that.
[/ QUOTE ]
Also, from this very thread...

Jibikao:[ QUOTE ]
If Pet's AI with -recharge causes major lag problem, then it should definitely be fixed.
[/ QUOTE ]You misunderstand: The Up to 50% increase wasn't pet powers. It was EVERY power, from every entity in the game -- it would require sandwiching a new check between calculating all Attribute alterations and applying those alterations in the powers system in general. So every single power in the game just because more CPU intensive, reducing the number of powers that can be processed at any given time. Things like the Zombie Apocalypse or Rikti Invasion would be horrendously affected. Hammi raids might need to be redone again.
That simply isn't a viable solution, despite it being the proper 'code' solution. Oh, it would also eliminate the ability for players to increase the recharge time of powers like Mind Link which don't normally accept recharge enhancements via Hammi-O's or Set IOs (Hasten and Speed Boost would still work, though.)
[/ QUOTE ]
This "experimental exception" for Mind Link (which still exists, and also happens to apply to Vengeance) is brought about by the "bug" of multi-aspect enhancements enhancing everything. -

Everybody make sure to move your characters out of Atlas Park and Mercy Island. If beta is any indication, those zones will be packed and extremely laggy
There's an AE building in nearly every city zone, plus RWZ. Use one of them if you don't like playing City of Slideshows!
[/ QUOTE ]
Except the intro mission has you going to AP/Mercy anyway, right?
[/ QUOTE ]Exactly why AP/Mercy will be packed. The intro mission just has you talking to the contacts in the building, and you can get all the same info talking to them yourself.
If you have a burning need to get the AE guy out of your active contacts list, wait a week or two -

I dug around the history of the Wiki, and saw the line I think you both might have been referring to - but again, the lack of obvious difference between player commentary and in-game description makes me think it's someone commenting on the power, not part of the actual description.
(Yeah, sorry about the threadjack. >_<
[/ QUOTE ]The wiki text regarding knockback is not and never has been part of the in-game description.
Also, the main reason Hover got changed was not because it was "never intended" to grant KB mitigation (it wasn't really intended, but that's not the point). The main reason was because they finally realized that during Hover's KB animation, the player was free from rooting, which is one of the core limitations of many powers. -

Slotting regular Recharge enhancements into Fire Imps or Lightning Storm will make their power info windows *report* a reduced Recharge for their powers, but that is only a display error, and it will *not* actually reduce that Recharge.
<snip>
[/ QUOTE ]
Wonder if they are fixing the display window? or if people are just supposed to know that it does nothing.
[/ QUOTE ]
Good question.
That's more of a pohsyb-issue than a Castle-issue, but it'd definitely be nice if the power info window was more accurate (it's not always trivial to get right though).
[/ QUOTE ]The issue is that the display window isn't wrong. The pet is still receiving that recharge buff, in the same way that a Willpower Tanker with Strength of Will still receives recharge buffs. The individual power just doesn't benefit from the recharge. -

My question is how a Hellion had Influence in the first place, and how someone was able to loot it from a corpse.

Before I respond, please define "recent development history" and "large portion of the playerbase" as you are using them in your OP.

You enter the Sewer Network. It is dark. You are likely to be eaten by a grue. -

He didn't say inf/time he said inf/level.
[/ QUOTE ]Same thing. (Edit: Specifically, the time it takes you to gain a given level depends more on your experience with the game than playing a Hero or a Villain. See comparisons between playtime to 50 for someone's first level 50 and their 5th) -
[ QUOTE ]
I still think that before merging the markets they'd have to make sure that on both sides you get the same amount of inf and drops per level.
[/ QUOTE ]Inf/time and Merits/time are more dependent on your build/AT than on which side of the game you're on. (A petless masterind will not get the same reward rates of a fire/kin farmer; a brute will outstrip a solo Defender)
When they released a bunch of datamined numbers a while back, one of the statistics was "richest AT", which turned out to be Brutes. Though Smurphy may have had a not-insignificant impact on that -

Crap is banned on the radio, according to the fcc. Same with any word that emulates it. Kinda super weak, but there you go. Blame the fcc.

Since you are aware that it has been suggested many times before, then you are obviously aware of the many reasons NOT to do it.
[/ QUOTE ]
I am completely unaware of ANY reason not to do this.

It's your own fault for not searching and reading the previous threads on this topic. It has been explained many times in the past. Do your homework.
/unsigned for all the reasons posted in past threads.

So, to recap, we have 3 RL economists weighing in in favor of a merger, at least one of whom has more Inf than on character can hold strictly from playing the market. We have a bunch of laymen naysaying the idea but they are unable to come up with a cogent reason WHY a merger would be bad.
If there are any more of "those reasons posted in past threads" now would be the time to trot them out. Because I'm STILL unaware of ANY reason not to merge the markets. I still believe that it is long overdue.
[/ QUOTE ]Well, at one of those RL economists isn't specifically for or against the merger, but enjoys picking apart the economically unsound arguments people make (which is... most of the arguments presented, tbh)
And a bunch of laymen for the merger, too. -
You're right, I didn't mention it (though I believe it is mentioned in the comments of the original file, which I've linked to).
*makes mental note to add to future version* -
"Menu", "Title", "Divider", and "Option" are the only terms specially needed for the QuickChat Menu. (and Title and Divider are totally optional)
Everything else is either some string that you want to use, or a slash command.
<font class="small">Code:<hr /><pre>Menu MenuName
{
...
}</pre><hr />MenuName is some string, any string, that you want to show up to identify the menu. ("QuickChat" is the top-level menu name you need to use to make it accessible as the QuickChat Menu). You can add an ampersand (&before one of the letters in MenuName to set that character as the menu's mnemonic (press the letter on your keyboard to select the menu, rather than clicking with your mouse)
<font class="small">Code:<hr /><pre>Title TitleName</pre><hr />TitleName is some string, any string, that you want to show up in your menu as a plain string. It does nothing but add the title to the list.
<font class="small">Code:<hr /><pre>Divider</pre><hr />Adds a dividing line to your menu
<font class="small">Code:<hr /><pre>Option OptionName Command</pre><hr />OptionName is some string, any string, that you want to show up as a menu item. You can add an ampersand (&before one of the letters in OptionName to set that character as the option's mnemonic (press the letter on your keyboard to select the option, rather than clicking with your mouse)
Command is a slash command, and functions identically to macros and binds.
MenuName, TitleName, OptionName, and Command need to be enclosed in quotes if you include spaces. -

Question: Once an arc has reached Developers' Choice status, can it be edited at all, ever?

Up to the latest patch, the answer to that question was "yes."
At this moment in time, I can't answer that question definitively.

I made a custom group on test for a mission, and named them Clicky-Clacks. Unfortunately you can't use their regular appearance, so they're a rogue clockwork faction that look like small bots.

(See also Marvel vs. NCSoft, in which the charges that CoH players infringed Marvel's trademarks by using Marvel names and/or likenesses were dismissed because Marvel did not -- and likely could not -- plead the players used them commercially.)

Well there are many of the praetorians in MA but i'm just wondering why anti-matter wasnt involved. Out of all of the FP i decide to make an arc revolving one of them end up picking Positron and i wanted to invlove AM in it
[/ QUOTE ]I realize that Antimatter looks different from Positron, but could you just set Posi as an enemy-aligned Boss objective, and copy/pase Antimatter's name/bio onto him?
You'd have the right model, powersets, and text, only missing the correct textures. -

I can't seem to find Anti-Matter anywhere. It might just be me being stupid but i couldnt find him at the ticket vendor or in the list of baddies. Was he added in MA at all?

Well see, they tried to include him, but since all of the other content in MA is made of matter...
(Sorry, couldn't resist a physics joke.)
