in this post i will try to explain my two suggestions on level limiting and E-Mail Block, it is my first post on the forums and hopefully i don't screw things up to much
Level Limiting: i believe there should be level limits on Grandville & Pergrine Island, the reason i suggest this is that doing so will create more teams for lower levels and higher levels. i been playing the game for almost 18 months now and i personally hate standing in one area looking for a team or trying to create one when everyone around my level is in PI or Grandville asking to be farmed, i know i can play the game alone but this is a MMORPG i would like a to play alone side other heros/villians, i just think the farm thing has gotten a little to out of control (in MY opinion) (will continue to next post)

No.
This has been suggested a great many times, so I'll try not to be snarky about my answer, but no promises. Fact of the matter is, the *BEST*, hands down, feature of this game is the sidekick/exemplar system. It's the one feature that has spoiled me for pretty much any other MMO. Limits on that is BAD. If a friend has a level 30 defender, and my tanker is having issues with an EB or a AV in PI, I should be able to SK him into my mission. Period. If that ability lets people farm and exploit the SK system, then so be it. It's a small price to pay for the most awesome feature that the gaming world has seen in a long time.
[/ QUOTE ]No to mention, level-limiting PI and GV just moves all the farms to a different zone, it doesn't stop the farms. -

player-made canon
[/ QUOTE ]Now that's an oxymoron if I've ever seen one. -

I think my lack of recogntion of this SG adds alot to the debate.
[/ QUOTE ]If so, then the various people in this thread and elsewhere that haven't heard of Tanker Tuesdays is just as relevant. -

RO has done more then TT ever has.
[/ QUOTE ]
First of all, an event is NOT the same as an SG. If you feel the need to compare your SG to something, stick to another SG.
[/ QUOTE ]Let's clear the air a bit. While there is an SG called "Repeat Offenders", the "Repeat Offenders Network" is not an SG. RO is the largest network of SGs in the game, spanning multiple coalitions and servers -
[ QUOTE ]
Would any of that effect your opinion?
[/ QUOTE ]No, not really.

An article in the City Scoop, special forum titles for the organisers, a spot in the game news or some such would be a lot more appropriate
[/ QUOTE ]Sam has it right. Any of those things are far better than a plaque in the game world. -

I mean, "Kill Skuls" didn't happen on my server, yet it got wall graffitti.
[/ QUOTE ]Kill Skuls came from the forums. -

How? How does it support the game as a whole any more than another server having Hami raids at a certain day/time? Or mothership raids? Or, yes, Repeat Offenders usual get togethers (most days, honestly, with specific groups "hosting" different days each week?) Or the Taxibots doing their tours?
[/ QUOTE ]
Because it's five years of training people to play an AT well. Those are all fun activities; this is players encouraging more gaming by direct tutelage, with little-to-no Developer support.
[/ QUOTE ]Since we've already gotten into Tanker Tuesdays vs. Repeat Offenders...
How does a monthly event lasting 5 years promoting better play of a single archetype centered on a single server (Tanker Tuesdays) compare to daily teaming over the course of 4 years while promoting better play of every single archetype centered on three separate servers (Repeat Offenders)? And I honestly don't think either of them deserves a plaque. -
Target gets the endurance, for any power with the performance shifter proc slotted. That includes things like Electric Blast attacks.

heh... ok ok Uncle already.
I still think they are backwards (compared to RL/comics/movies not safeguards) and not intuitive for the new player (I did compare them to safeguards in this regard).
But that's cool. If I'm in the minority then keep them the way they are... just don't force me to run them to get my next contact, i.e. consider my other suggestions.
[/ QUOTE ]
Not that I have ever done it, as I love Mayhem missions, but, IIRC, you can accept the mission, step in and back out, let the timer run out, talk to the Broker, and get your new Contact.
[/ QUOTE ]This is correct. You get the contact whether the mission succeeds or fails. -

It seems wrong to fight your way to the bank. 99% of bank robberies start with the hold-up inside the bank. COV has it backwards.
[/ QUOTE ]But wanton destruction and mayhem is more fun! -

You're forgetting that a hilarious forum meme became an honest-to-god badge, Bill.
[/ QUOTE ]
This is true, my mistake. So we're up to three things brought in.
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually, I was going to edit my post to point out that said badge makes no personal reference to the meme's creator. So.. *shrug*
[/ QUOTE ]And Kill Skuls is an amalgam of two memes, not a single one. ("Go. Hunt." and "Kill Skuls" were separate stories) -

Perhaps I'm late to the party but then every SG that has been around for at least the same amount of time deserves a plaque.
[/ QUOTE ]
That is completely apples and oranges Im sorry. Adding this plaque would not set an kind of precedent in the game. This is an event which players from ALL servers have attended regularly for years now. Any MMORPG lives and dies by its player generated content, hence the issue which is about to go live. And looking ahead if any other group of players can present evidence of a similar accomplishment then sure lets have more plaques! But for now we are making our case for Tanker Tuesday and I think it is a good one. Every tanker (big and small) who has attended, learned from and enjoyed themselves at Tanker Tuesday deserve this plaque.
[/ QUOTE ]
What about pvpec and pveec? (I think thats what it is called), or the Repeat offenders, or any of the major pvp sgs (wait, they are all gone now....) Where do we draw the line? Cause those may not have run as long but I'm pretty sure that they are much more widely known (based on I've heard about those a while ago and I'm only hearing about Tanker Tuesday know). If anything IIRC the reps from the pvpec and the pveec (correct me if I'm callin em by the wrong name) only got a special title.... that should be about it if it was to be done for Tanker Tuesdays.
[/ QUOTE ]
I think everything should be evaluated on a case by case basis and then ruled upon. I dont think anyone can point to a player event (in the history of COX) which has had more longevity and success then Tanker Tuesday. And seriously folks we are talking about a tiny little plaque here as a form of recognition for what truly is a remarkable accomplishment if you think about it.
[/ QUOTE ]
But what determines that success and whether or not it merits ingame recognition? Members of Tanker Tuesday or whatever event/group/w/e that people want to have? The number of people that have heard about it or participate? The length? How long it has been around? I don't think case by case works because.... well people are biased and will go "Oh snap! I belong to that group! /signed x100000000000000". I forgot the rest of my point.
[/ QUOTE ]Exactly. I could argue RO deserves a plaque because, in Castle's own words, "Repeat Offenders publicly leveraged the mechanics to do stupidly difficult things easily." (along with being a long-standing SG network established in August 2005, and possibly the largest group of SGs in the game).
But really, RO doesn't deserve a plaque in the game world. And I don't really think Tanker Tuesdays does, either. -

I would really like to see the game revitalized with a new-add on pack. Something large like the CoV add on, available at stores. Don't get me wrong, I love the mini-add-ons that come out quiet frequently, however a new add-on pack would grab a lot of new players and bring back a bunch of old players. It would grab new players, because when they are shopping for games, they would see the 'New' CoH and pick it up to play it and it would definitely bring back old players.
[/ QUOTE ]City of Heroes will be getting "shelf presence" (which is what you're really asking for here, not necessarily new content) within a few weeks, with City of Heroes: architect Edition. The DVD will contain all of the issues up to and including I14, as well as a month of play and a code you can redeem for either Super Booster 1 (Cyborg) or Super Booster 2 (Magic).

1) A large, new 'None-Load-Time' zone that has spawn ranging from level 1 to level 50 depending on where you are.
[/ QUOTE ]A zone with no load time? This is physically impossible.
[ QUOTE ]
2) A new 'Hamidon' like raid. I would love to see another giant monster (about the size of the hamidon) style raid that requires a huge number of people to take down. Maybe a giant moving-level monster, in which people actually get on the monster and kill it while the monster moves across the level. (I know, probably a lag monster, but if the Devs really sit down and think this through, I don't doubt they could do it, especially with all the great stuff they've already done)
[/ QUOTE ]The game engine does not currently support standing on a moving object. Have you ever tried to ride on the roof of a car, or land on the Atlas Park blimp? -

Floor 2: every spawn is 3 minions

The more PBAoEs, (toggle buffs, or offense clicks/toggles), the more useful TTP actually becomes. As you say, though, the team needs some coordination to use it. You can't just whip it out on a PuG and expect it to work.
